Look, nobody's out here begging to be someone's top priority. We’ve all got our own lives to run. As long as you're honest and respectful, carving out some decent time for someone is plenty.
How do you take away the option of suicide? There always has to be a way out of that hell, because if I didn't have one, life would just be endless suffering.
Olivia Roberts7 said:It’s pretty simple: if someone actually cares, they’ll suggest a makeup date or at least follow through on saying they'll call. Anything else is just a string of excuses for people who simply don't want to show up. Nobody is ever too busy to grab a quick coffee with a friend.
Honestly, my life is anything but boring. Not even close. But I still can't help thinking that all my goals and ambitions wouldn't feel quite as meaningful if I knew I had 500 years ahead of me versus just living to 70.
That’s a wild idea. A heavy one, too. Honestly? I feel like if people were living that long all by themselves, most would eventually just end it. Most of us, anyway. There’s a certain logic to being limited by time—focusing on what we achieve, pushing our bodies, riding those life cycles, and even dealing with the setbacks we have to overcome. It gives things weight. I can't even wrap my head around how everything would change if you stretched a single life out to 500 years. To me, it feels like everything would just lose its meaning.
Every single Aquarius I’ve ever met is an absolute ego-maniac. Honestly, they lean so hard into being dramatic and psychopathic, it’s wild. I’m actually a little spooked by the sign 😲 😲
They’re out here looking for some kind of standard, but honestly? The fact that the whole world is just driven by pure selfishness is a whole different story.
Once you finally figure that out, it just makes sense, right? You make sure you always have time for her so you never even end up in a spot where you're forced to choose between her, your family, or whatever else comes up.
Daniel Kelly57 said:That’s just not true. There are plenty of people out there working like dogs. When they finally get some downtime, yeah, they’re going to spend it with their families. A lot of people can't wrap their heads around that and end up getting salty about it. Honestly, I feel more for the ones who can't grasp that priorities shift. You can't expect people to be hanging out with you constantly like they did back when life was easy and nobody had any real responsibilities.🍿
Who’s always running their mouth? We’re talking about the people who NEVER have a spare second to spare. Honestly, that kind of attitude is just straight-up lazy.
Carl Rivera43 said:But why the rush? Why did times change like this? And really, who is this happening to?
I used to be a total naive optimist. I've toned that down over the years, sure, but honestly? I'd much rather be a bit too optimistic than shut myself off from the world entirely.
I genuinely care about people. I want to help whenever I can, and it makes me happy to see people staying positive through their struggles. Life is way too short to ignore the good stuff or let fear and indecision rob us of great opportunities.

If you actually want to do something, you find a way. I have certain friends I only see once a year; I'll invite them over, fire up the grill, and we'll catch up on everything until late at night. Time flies when you're talking. Then, we won't speak or see each other again until next year. It could happen more often, sure, but this works for me. I value my peace.
If you didn't reach out to me for a whole year, you wouldn't even be in my life anymore. 🙂
Ever find yourself wasting your breath on people who aren't even on your level? Like, giving way too much weight to connections that don't actually matter?
Being a good person doesn't mean you have to be a pushover.
To me, being decent means having a clean conscience, good intentions, and staying true to your values without stepping on anyone else to get ahead.
But look, the second someone tries to walk all over you or starts coming at you, you can't just sit there and take it. You've gotta stand your ground and set the record straight.
There's an old saying that pretty much sums it up: Kindness is useless if it doesn't have teeth.

My own father is significantly less mature than most people I encounter, and he's already seventy 😵 ... honestly, I find it hard to believe he's even still around, let alone managed to raise children (myself included) 🤣
Just ignore all that empty rhetoric and the whole Carpe Diem thing... though, I suppose she was right, and it is a fitting username! 👍
Gonna veer off-topic for just a sec—thanks, thanks! 🙂
Look, I’m telling you, your ego isn't small—you actually have more of it than you realize. If that weren't true, you wouldn't even be obsessing over this question or thinking about yourself this much, even if it was just on a smaller scale. We live in an era where there are true geniuses everywhere. There always have been, but back in the day, information wasn't easy to get, so people didn't know they existed. Now? Information is everywhere. Anyone who actually wants to level up can become what you are. And you're doing the work too. You're working toward being a complete person, not just a "big" one. That’s what real ego is. It doesn't matter if the lady next door or half the planet notices your progress. Change is change. Work is work. Honestly, we're usually way more productive when we aren't slaves to the end result.
While you're busy sweating over the illusion of non-existence, you're just flushing your precious time right down the drain.
I'm with you on that. It's fine to try and wrap your head around things to a certain point, but obsessing over stuff humans simply can't grasp? That's just spinning your wheels and wasting time.
I’ll give you one more little tip... just read. Like, read everything you can find on this topic. No matter how heavy or scary it gets. There are so many different theories out there, and honestly, they all help with understanding things. Yeah, death is natural. It's just the end of the cycle. But that shouldn't be the main thing you focus on. You should focus on what we actually have right now. Every single moment of life 🙂
I honestly don't think we're even on the same page here. Obviously, that’s just my take on things. Look, you can't really compare the act of being born to the conscious part of life where you actually develop the ability to reason through stuff. Where or when someone is born is a completely different conversation from what I was getting at. I was talking about conscious, grown adults who always have a choice in how they react to what life throws at them—and by extension, how much power they hand over to others. There's always a choice, and people who claim otherwise are usually just looking for an excuse. Everything has two sides to it. That’s just how I see it.
