During my second pregnancy, I found the unsolicited commentary absolutely insufferable whenever I mentioned I was expecting another boy. 🙄It was rare to encounter anyone offering a genuine word of support; instead, the remarks were almost exclusively patronizing or dismissive—comments about whether we’d try again for a girl, claims that boys are a handful, or snide jokes about raising a little football team. One man even laughed in my face, which I took as blatant mockery, though he eventually ended up with two sons himself. 😁Now I am waiting on a third son, and I can already anticipate the predictable barrage of judgment that follows.
Nathan Lee said:Man, I actually got into a huge argument recently with this "veteran" type. He hit me with his bag first, then told me to get up for some old lady. Even though I don't have a baby bump, I was feeling really nauseous at the time, and I had just stepped away from a woman wearing a super irritating perfume. It was such a mess... I told him there are plenty of younger women who aren't pregnant either, so he actually demanded proof that I was pregnant and called me a liar. I felt so bad because I had to transfer to another bus right at that stop near Target, and he was shouting after me, saying, "See? She's lying—she's just a college student!" He basically made the whole bus look at me... it was so embarrassing.
Nathan Lee said:It’s honestly getting pretty irritating. Now that I’m pregnant with my second, people keep making comments about how we might finally have a little brother this time, since I already have a daughter. They say it like they're trying to comfort me or something, as if having a boy is some kind of prize. Microsoft! First off, we actually wanted another girl (obviously, as long as the baby is healthy and happy!). I think I can more easily picture our family with two girls. I haven't been sharing my actual wishes lately, though, just because I don't want anyone thinking I'll be disappointed if it turns out to be a boy—which wouldn't happen, but it would feel a bit strange. I guess I’ve even developed this weird resistance toward the idea of a boy; part of me almost wants a girl just out of pure spite. I'm not sure why it's hitting me so hard right now. It really started when my mom made that comment, and then a few other people followed suit. Maybe it's because I was the third girl in my family and everyone seemed a bit let down back then... Ugh, it feels silly to admit, but it’s really bothering me.
People are perpetually dissatisfied and will always find something to push back against. The same "comforting" remarks were aimed at me when I found out I was having my second son, despite everyone hoping for a girl. 😛One of my coworkers was inconsolable for days after learning her daughter was having a boy because she was so desperate for a grandson. 🤷Gender isn't everything, though there seems to be a persistent, misguided notion that girls are somehow less valued.
Nothing irritates me quite as much as the mindless comments and inquiries regarding the gender of my second child. 🙂 First, there was the inevitable "what if it’s another boy?", followed by the sheer audacity of asking how I felt once I confirmed I was indeed having another son. Then came the unsolicited advice from people claiming my oldest wouldn't want a brother, or that sisters are inherently superior, or even the suggestion that if I have another boy, I should simply move on to a third because I am still young. 😠 My blood pressure spikes instantly at such nonsense. 🙂

We used a condom and he didn't even finish, so the test showed negative, which is exactly what I wanted... but I have no clue why my period hasn't started yet 😕
The idea that you're pregnant is frankly implausible, given that there was both a condom involved and no ejaculation. As for your missed period, I have no way of knowing; your best course of action is to schedule an appointment with a doctor.
Anthony Reed69 said:I really hope everything turns out okay... I am practically counting down the minutes until 6:00 PM tomorrow when I finally get to hear what my OB-GYN has to say about all this. And honestly, I had assumed it was much too soon to even think about testing, but I suppose one can't help but harbor a little hope, can they? I'm just not entirely sure if anything would even show up on an ultrasound this early on.
A home pregnancy test won't yield results this early; they are designed for when a period is missed, or perhaps on the day it was expected. Regarding the ultrasound, read this article for some clarity: http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/ultrasound/about/acm-20564831 though according to the medical consensus, you generally need to be at least a month along before anything is visible. Best of luck.
Kate Barnes46 said:Hey guys 😁 first off, I actually had an account way back before this one, but I totally lost my password for both my email and the forum, so that’s why I’m starting fresh with this account... I haven't really hung out in this sub before, so I really hope you’ll all be welcoming and maybe help me out if you can... anyway, let's get into it 😁
So, it was basically the last day of my moonlight (well, technically it finished two days ago on the 9th) and we were sleeping together (unprotected), and he finished inside me just a little bit before pulling out... eh, now I'm feeling some "symptoms" that I might just be making up in my head, who knows 😍 like, my breasts feel super sensitive, my lower stomach feels kind of bloated (or maybe I just ate too much, haha), I'm constantly exhausted, I get dizzy sometimes, and lately, I've been having these terrible headaches—they come and go, hit hard, then fade for a few hours and come right back... I haven't been throwing up or anything like what women usually talk about, and honestly, even if I am pregnant, it feels way too early for these symptoms to show up...
Just to clarify, my boyfriend and I weren't specifically trying for a baby, but we have talked about it and we'd be so happy if I were pregnant, since it wouldn't be "unplanned," it would just be arriving a little earlier than expected (at least, that's how my favorite guy put it 😍 )
My period usually starts right on the 6th of every month at around 10 AM, until that annoying red stuff finally shows up 😬
It's still way too early for a pregnancy test, but I just couldn't resist jumping on here to ask what you guys think about these symptoms, and if it's even possible to get pregnant during your period (since my cousins act like it's impossible, even though that sounds totally absurd to me, but whatever)
So yeah, I know this is a long post, but I hope you understand—I'm just so excited and anxious, but also a little scared because I'm just so unsure 🙂
Kisses to all my fellow moms-to-be and everyone else out there feeling the same anxiety 😍
I would also argue that pregnancy is highly improbable in this scenario, particularly if your cycle is typically consistent. You can use this link to estimate your fertile window, which provides a rough approximation; I used a similar method and conceived during my very first attempt. http://www.covermagazin.com/plodni-dani.htm
Edward Kern3 said:08/25 Yeah, it was unprotected... even though he pulled out beforehand. We usually use protection, though.
You mentioned your period ended on August 25th. Fertility windows and pregnancy calculations are always based on the first day of your cycle. Look, I can't be certain, and a test would give you the only real answer, but if he pulled out in time, the odds of pregnancy are slim, though nothing is ever truly impossible. My partner and I have relied on this specific method—which most people find unreliable—for years without any unplanned pregnancies. Once we actually decided to conceive, it happened on the very first attempt. 🙂
Edward Kern3 said:You’re clearly kind of mixing me up with Ariana Grande 😁 I haven't even bought a test yet... I'm totally broke right now, and I can't exactly ask my parents because... well, that's a whole other long story...🤣 So now I'm stuck waiting for my paycheck to hit, and I feel like I'm going to lose my mind in the meantime... 😢
There are budget brands available for about $6.75 . If I recall correctly, your last period was around August 20th, and if you had unprotected sex on September 2nd, those likely coincided with your fertile window, making pregnancy a distinct possibility. You should be able to take a test right now if your cycle is regular, and the results should be reliable.
I would assert that pregnancy is highly unlikely given the use of protection, three missed periods, and two negative tests. If I were in your position, I would insist on seeing an OB-GYN for a full examination and blood work to rule out other issues.
Jose Robinson61 said:Who would have thought I’d actually be posting here... sigh... alright, let's get into it. About two weeks ago, I had sex during the last day of my period. No condom used, and he finished inside me. Now that two weeks have passed, I’ve been feeling this constant urge to vomit, but nothing comes up. My teeth, my gums, my jaw... it’s all becoming unbearable every single day. My head is the worst part. It feels like I’ve been run over by a truck. I am just exhausted. On top of that, there is this incredibly thick discharge, and I feel like I’m constantly running to the bathroom. What should I do, people? I can't deal with this dental pain anymore... it's killing me...😢and now what... should I go buy a test or not? When is the right time? My next period is due in a week, and my cycle is usually a steady 28 days. What do you guys think?
I have never heard of pregnancy causing issues with the teeth or jaw.🤷 If your cycle is strictly 28 days as you stated, your fertile window likely began around day 10. Since you only mentioned the timing was at the end of your period, I cannot be certain, but if you cannot bear the uncertainty, you might as well take a blood test.
swiftridge90 said:Thanks so much, Jacob White37! Honestly, I think I'm gonna skip the testing again... such a bummer, right? But hey, I'll just head straight to the in-laws next week instead...
I dealt with that same uncertainty a few months ago and ended up buying the cheapest test available, I believe it was $5.25. Regardless, since I use a private clinic, a full exam would cost me significantly more than a 😁 test anyway, and I started my period the very next day ☕ regardless, so good luck with whatever you're hoping for.
swiftridge90 said:Quoting myself from another thread: I’ve been MIA here for a bit... ugh, my period is nowhere to be found, though honestly, it's always super irregular for me (usually anywhere from 28 to 40 days). Right now, my stomach is cramping so hard I feel like I'm about to get my period, but nothing is happening. I had some brownish spotting about 10 days ago—today is actually day 39—and it lasted for two days, then stopped, then came back for a few more days before finally disappearing (it was total chaos for like 3 or 4 days). I took a pregnancy test today, but since I didn't use my first morning urine, it came back negative. Back during my first pregnancy, I had implantation bleeding for just one day and then tested positive right around day 37... plus, I had almost these exact same symptoms. I really need to head to the OBGYN, right?
Update: It’s actually day 40 now (my bad, I miscounted earlier, it wasn't 39)... I did a stick test using my first morning pee and it was negative. Still no period, everything hurts, and my breasts are definitely swelling up. Honestly, I don't even think there's much of a chance I'm pregnant. I tried calling my doctor, but her office is slammed and they're closed for the next three days. Should I just wait until next week for an appointment, or should I try testing again?
I would simply take another test in a few days. If your period fails to show up, you should certainly visit your doctor to determine the underlying cause.
Gregory Clark5 said:I had sex about two months ago. For the last week and a half, I’ve been feeling bloated. There’s actual pain when I press on my stomach. My jeans are becoming unbearable because of it. Yesterday, my period arrived out of nowhere. Usually, I get a warning sign at least a day in advance, but not this time. It’s also much heavier than usual—I'm changing products way more often than normal. I know a period doesn't strictly rule out pregnancy, so I can't say for certain that I'm not... I'd appreciate your thoughts. Oh, and one more thing. My appetite is insane. I just polished off ten pancakes and I'm already craving a massive deli sandwich and some extra bread... Is this even normal?? 🙄🤷
I suspect you aren't pregnant, provided you used protection. You could simply pick up one of those inexpensive tests at CVS to settle your mind once and for all.
Honestly, dealing with this hair loss is becoming an absolute nuisance 😳 I wake up every morning to find my pillowcase and sheets completely covered in strands, and I’m constantly vacuuming because the floor is just a mess of shedding. Even my clothes are ruined by it... if I weren't so careful, I'd probably be finding it in my food too. 🙄
Karen Grant9 said:I tried Meli and I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed. I was expecting much more sophisticated pastries. A few of them tasted identical despite being different items! I went to Piece of Cake to fix my mood and was absolutely delighted. Does anyone have any other great bakeries to recommend? The only issue with Piece of Cake is they don't really carry dry cookies; most of their stuff is quite creamy...
I also found my experience with Meli to be underwhelming.🤷 Everyone spoke it up, yet neither the cakes nor the pastries impressed me. I haven't had the chance to try Piece of Cake since I am never in that part of town, but I have ordered from Sugarland and their cakes and pastries are quite simply the best.👍
coppermoose30 said:I just took a Clearblue test and there’s this incredibly faint line appearing... It’s currently day 35 since my last period started, and my cycles are all over the place, usually running anywhere from 32 to 38 days. I'm losing my mind here, I honestly can't tell if I'm pregnant or not??
It is entirely possible 🤷 given how inconsistent your cycles are. You have little choice but to either retake the test in a few days or go get a blood test for HCG levels.
