It feels like every time I turn around, another huge talent is being scouted and snatched up by the same big clubs. It’s hard to get attached to a roster when the movement is this relentless. Does anyone else feel like the loyalty in modern sports is basically non-existent now?

rustyowl7 said:Honestly, I can't help but laugh at these comments about breastfeeding and how it supposedly shapes a child's future personality. My firstborn was breastfed for twenty-one months, and she was already showing quite a bit of independence by her first birthday. I truly hope I haven't accidentally raised a little rebel... 😂😂😂
On a side note, most of the doctors I've spoken to regarding my breastfeeding duration have been incredibly supportive of our journey, rather than judging me or spouting nonsense. It’s been particularly notable because she didn't suffer from any allergic reactions while being breastfed, whereas once we transitioned the following spring, she had to stay indoors for nearly three months, and then faced the exact same situation a year later 🙂🙂
Of course you didn't notice—it's because you nursed her for so long that she's now such a sensitive soul! 🧐
Ultimately, it seems I am merely being provoked by a flood of postpartum misinformation.🤣

I would love to actually see the doctors making such claims. I have encountered all sorts of practitioners, yet none have ever said anything of the sort. Where on earth are these doctors located? I live in a fairly rural part of the country, and I have never heard such nonsense. 🤷
No doctor is going to advise against breastfeeding. You can be certain of that. ☕

silentbison17 said:rustynomad12, I don't get these posts of yours. What's your angle here? Trying to mess with us regular pregnant women who just want to listen to our moms and read the forums without being paranoid?
Especially since you've claimed five different times that this is your only single post. Now you're moving on to breastfeeding on this thread. Great. I'll breastfeed for as long as I can. That depends on all sorts of things—sociological factors, like having to go back to work after four months, or physiological ones, like if my supply runs out. But I'm certainly not going to claim I'll stop nursing because milk loses its properties after six months. What, does it turn into juice?
But hey, you're the genius. You know everything.
The user said milk isn't useful past six months, implying it loses its "nutritional value" and that the child is just clinging to the mother out of pure perversion.
It is nonsense.😁
And I don't understand why everyone is panicking and feeling pressured about breastfeeding. It is entirely psychological. No one is going to tell you that you are a bad mother based on whether you nurse for four, six, or ten months. You will do what you can and what you want. It is a matter of choice. One should simply be direct: "I am not breastfeeding because I don't want to," or "I find it unappealing," or "I can't be bothered." Stop spreading myths about milk losing its quality after six months.
This was another annoyance during my pregnancy—this manic need for misinformation to justify ignorance or "mistakes." I heard plenty of these delusions myself, but they didn't affect me. When I had my child, I did what I felt was right. If I had doubts, I sought advice where I expected a rational answer. 😉 There is no shame in not knowing, but there is shame in realizing you have no clue and choosing to act ignorant when information is readily available at our fingertips. 🙂

So you think bottle-feeding guarantees more sleep than nursing? 🍿 What an absurd notion. 🙂🤣🤣 It’s a myth. There is no magic trick to ensure a baby sleeps through the night, unless you plan on spiking their formula with some sedative. 😬
I nurse exclusively. My baby is nearly five months old now. She sleeps like a dream, waking maybe once or twice a night to eat—usually from 8:00 PM until 8:00 AM. Those feedings take ten minutes tops. No trauma involved. 😁
And honestly, she nurses, yet she's perfectly social. She smiles at everyone and doesn't fuss when she isn't attached to me. I don't spend my entire day tethered to her. I have no idea what kind of distorted reality you're living in regarding breastfeeding. You probably just read some exaggerated account about a growth spurt where the baby refuses to let go for hours.
There is a certain peace of mind in knowing that no matter where I am or how long I stay out, she is always fed. I wouldn't trade this for bottle-feeding for anything. And I'm not even a hardcore breastfeeding zealot. 😁😁

Regarding the nuclear option—I don't quite follow. Are you planning to stop breastfeeding once the baby hits four or six months?
As for the nutritional value of milk, I have nothing to say. It begs the question: will you switch to formula? Or is that also out of the question since you're focused on "solid food" now?
It seems to me you’ve become one of those people strictly committed to avoiding breastfeeding altogether. 😬
To move away from the topic entirely—everything that irritated me during my pregnancy happened only once. I made sure it didn't happen again. The only thing that occurred twice was someone kissing my stomach. Since it was unsolicited and caught me completely off guard, I don't feel guilty about it. After the second time, I told them clearly not to do it again. I refused to let anyone touch my stomach. I didn't bother arguing over names, either; I just ignored all those "you'll see" comments from the consultants. In the end, things went exactly as I planned, regardless of their predictions. Looking back, I wasted energy on trivialities. There won't be room for such nonsense in my future. 🧐
Milk loses its properties after six months. Unbelievable. I'm still processing that. 😬
By the way, my child used to "bite" me at three months old just to watch my reaction. She would play by grabbing and letting go, then laughing at me. Should I have snatched the bottle away and told her that if she's more interested in playing than eating, she can just deal with a spoon?

When I faced comments like "you need to know how to make a man," I responded with total indifference: "Sorry, but you need to know how to make a hole in a hole." Then I simply changed the subject. Everyone went silent. Perhaps they will think twice before trying to act smart next time. ☕

🙂 Those skinny types are probably just jealous and itching for a fight. It doesn't matter if you're pregnant; gaining weight is a basic reality. 🤣🤣

It’s infuriating when someone implies you aren’t "normal" just because you haven't gone off to have a baby yet. You sit there wondering whether to say nothing at all or just strike them for being so profoundly ignorant.☕
My mother calls from out of state to check in, and my husband picks up the phone only to tell her I'm not home—that I headed out to Chicago. My heart nearly stops because he makes it sound like I've gone into labor and am ignoring her calls. The man is an absolute idiot; he doesn't even realize what he's saying. 🙂
I ask him if anyone actually called. He says no. Then, an hour later—after she’s already back at work—he finally remembers she did call and tells me exactly what she said. 🙂

Nancy Stewart38 said:Dana Martin87, it's funny how differently grandmas tell these stories...
They told me I was a boy too, just because my face didn't look "distorted." They were actually 😬
The only thing I don't get is what kind of ridiculous logic implies that being "distorted" is even a thing...
At least you got a polite version about your face changing. I was told it was definitely a boy because I hadn't gained weight.😲😲

When they try to suffocate you like that, staring at them in pure disbelief—well, we’re already married.
That was my go-to response from the start. Whenever some insignificant or annoying person interrupted me at the wrong moment😬 to ask if I was pregnant—no, I’m just fat. You should have seen their faces... turning shades of colors I didn't know existed...😂😂
Lately, the latest topic for ridicule in my circle is that we aren't having the baby baptized immediately, but waiting until spring... Apparently, that's not how things are done. It's not proper, it's not normal, and a child shouldn't even be out after dark before they've been baptized... and so on. I'm just waiting for someone to start bringing over red string so I can tie it around the baby's wrist or ankle to ward off the evil eye—classic religious thinking...☕

You aren't exaggerating. ☕
My husband insists I'm incompetent and needs someone to come over and help clean (by the way, we need to pack up the house because we move tomorrow 🙄), and his solution is to call his mother. Oh, wonderful. Just what I need—her playing the martyr because her precious little boy thinks I can't handle things alone. ☕
Instead of just stepping up and doing something himself, he’d rather play the victim and nag me with his delusions. Whatever. Luckily, I'm in too good a mood to let it get to me... 😁😁
And yes, that's exactly why I don't tell anyone anything. I don't mention what I'm thinking, what I plan to buy at Walmart, or what I've already picked up... none of it.
I'm going back to being productive now. Alone. 😁

Joseph Wells81 said:Look at this girl cleaning her room and prepping all her gear like she’s about to go into labor or something.
Did you even ask if she actually has anything useful to contribute? 🤣🤣🤣
My mom is also planning on buying a full nursery setup just to cram it into my old room...🤣 I had to explain that unless she plans on raising the baby herself, a portable travel crib is more than enough for occasional babysitting.🤣
Meanwhile, my mother-in-law seems convinced she's moving in with me once the baby arrives... lol... the delusions are real.

When people pry about the gender, I simply state that I have decided on having a girl, so that’s what will happen. It shuts them down immediately; they lose their footing and change the subject. If they ask about names, I give a curt "we haven't decided yet" and pivot the conversation. I am exhausted by the unsolicited advice...
As for the constant "just you wait," we could probably start an entire thread on that trope.
We are heading out to dinner tonight... I fully expect to be bombarded with those "just you wait" comments. I just endure it, playing the fool, until their own condescension eventually trips them up.😈😛
And frankly, the most obnoxious "just you wait" crowd consists of people with poorly raised children.☕

Jamie Jones8 said:I am seriously so annoyed with AT&T right now😠😳 😠
Those totally inconsiderate seniors who always seem to be rushing to get through the door before my belly—which, let's be honest, is already starting to make its own entrance—and then they just let the door swing back and smack me right in the stomach...
And I looked in the mirror and realized my face looks all "weird," which honestly caught me off guard, because I don't think I even recognize myself sometimes...
😲😲😠😠😠If it were me, I’d walk up to someone like that with total indifference, grab them by the head, and slam them against the nearest wall without a second thought. Pure insolence.🙂🙂

I politely informed her that I wasn't particularly fond of being patted on the stomach. Since then, we’ve crossed paths a few times and she hasn't touched me once. As for the baby clothes, I told her quite clearly that you two should make those choices yourselves—you’ve already raised your own children, and after everything you've been through, you've earned this first one.
It drives me crazy when my mother starts making comments about going to the hospital alone or doing 3D ultrasounds. I try to brush it off, but it honestly leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. If she wants to celebrate all that and force it on her daughter one day, fine, but I don't need any part of it. I am not some overly sentimental person, and the whole display is incredibly irritating. Besides, I know most of it is just pure performance. 🙄

I’m just waiting for someone to take a shot at my gut. The second they try, I’m heading straight for the bathroom or hitting the nearest bar. If they want a fight, they’ll get one.☕
And as for mm, I told him to move. By the time he actually drags himself over, the moment's gone. I just sat there and held his hand. He doesn't have telepathy; he can't just sense that I'm waiting for him to step up.🙄
