My mom this weekend. Scenario one: - When you have the baby and he’s throwing some big party, I’m coming over to stay with you for two days, but he better not be there. - Mom, he’s gonna be hosting this whole thing while I’m stuck in the hospital, then he’ll be right back home with me. - Well fine, but he could just stay there for those two days and I could come visit you instead. 🤦 Then my little sister jumps in and snaps at me to just leave her alone. 😳
Scenario two: - Why are you wearing those flats? (Like, they're two sizes too big, I just slide them on and go). Just buy some clogs or sandals, it’d be way easier on you. I didn't even say anything.
Bryan Diaz, listen, mine was leaking constantly from around week 16 or 17 all the way through week 20. Then things finally settled down. Now, every once in a while, I’ll spot a little spot on my pajamas, but it’s rare—back then, though, my pajamas would be soaked. During the day, I guess my bra just soaks it all up.
So, a friend of mine finally hit her breaking point. Her mother-in-law used to pull this ridiculous stunt where she’d just barge into the house at the crack of dawn, supposedly just to "check in" on what my friend was up to. Well, my friend decided she'd had enough and started locking the doors. She honestly couldn't care less what the woman thinks. But of course, the mother-in-law wouldn't take no for an answer—she started screaming and pounding on the door like a maniac until my friend finally gave in and opened up. 🤦 I mean, seriously, how much of a total moron do you have to be to act like that????
Anthony Watson35, tell me about it. There are way too many people like that out there. What more do they want from you? It's not like you're their social club!
You aren't being "evil" or whatever. Look, we grew up in houses where the old guys would just barge into our rooms once a year without even knocking—in our own damn homes. So, I don't see why anyone thinks they have the right to be snooping around an apartment, regardless of how good their intentions are, b) while I'm not even there 😲. Honestly, I don't even know what people consider a "big deal" anymore.
The door is unlocked. And those heavy curtains? Total joke. Honestly, if I were in her shoes, I’d be losing my mind too. You can't deal with people like that any other way. Besides, I'd probably find a way to slip something through that narrow gap just to mess with her...
This might end up being a bit of a long one... if you're easily stressed, feel free to skip...
So, ever since I found out I was pregnant, things have been getting under my skin. But honestly? I am absolutely livid at the doctors. They’ve spent this entire pregnancy spooking me for no reason. I didn't know any better, so I just blindly followed their lead, only to realize I've basically been dealing with a "textbook" pregnancy this whole time without the actual drama they made it out to be. Look, I'm not saying it's entirely on me—there's way too much noise on the internet—but when you can't go there because your doctor isn't giving you clear or sufficient answers, where else are you supposed to turn?
It drives me crazy how they described something as minor as being "a fingertip's width short" as some absolute catastrophe, forcing me into STRICT bed rest. That’s two months of my life gone, and I'm never getting those days back. And don't even get me started on the money I wasted on $283 an appointment where the doctor didn't even bother using an ultrasound to check my cervix. No, she just did a manual exam, decided I was "three-quarters of an inch short," and presented it to me with this grim look like I wouldn't even make it to my due date. She sold me a scare tactic, I bought it, and we both spent way too long paralyzed by fear. Did I need that? Hell no! 😳 On top of that, the doctor keeps sending me for endless tests just because of my weight and the fact that the baby is big, so I'm stuck shuffling through hospital corridors and sitting around terrified waiting for results that probably won't change anything.
Everything that's happened over these last seven and a half months just feeds directly into my hypochondria. And frankly, I hate that about myself. It bugs me that I felt like I knew nothing about pregnancy, that anyone could talk me into believing anything, and most of all, I hate that I can't get back the time I spent living in constant fear... Thanks for listening.

😂 Honestly, the only neighbor near my mom’s place had the nerve to laugh and tell me straight up that my face was totally distorted! 🤣 And look, she wasn't lying. My head feels huge. At least she’s being real. Everyone else plays this fake, sweet game—you know, the whole "Oh, you look gorgeous, nobody can even tell you gained 35 pounds!" routine. Well, they can see it, they just choose to lie about it to my face! 😠 But frankly, I don't care. It doesn't get under my skin. Nobody touches my stomach except for my aunt. She’s the only one who actually wants to cuddle the baby. With everyone else (my brother, my sister), I practically have to bribe them just to put a hand on him to feel the kicks. They act like he's a hot potato, terrified they're going to squeeze him too hard. 🙄
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:It absolutely infuriates me that I managed to shove my Duphaston up my urethra instead of vaginally. I ended up panicking and trying to squeeze it out with my fingers, so now I’m just sitting here waiting for a UTI to kick in. And let me tell you—that hurts.😠
What drives me even more insane is some idiot telling me I’ll hit 200 pounds if I stay on bed rest, or suggesting I can just go for long walks because "it doesn't matter anyway."😠 I’ve already put on at least five pounds just from being stuck inside, no matter how much I watch what I eat or try to fill up on fruit and other crap. It's maddening.😢
😲 Omg... How big even is that pill???
Jesus, there's some kid in my neighborhood screaming his lungs out for five minutes straight, the whole block can hear him wailing... 🙄 And yeah, I'll have one of those little terrors soon enough, but even so, it's seriously getting on my nerves!!! 😠
What’s really bugging me is this sudden manic urge to clean everything. I want to get all my prep done in a couple of days, but my husband still hasn't fixed the washing machine—every time we run a load, the bathroom turns into a freaking swimming pool. Plus, my laundry situation is a total mess since everyone in town is basically helping out, and now I've lost track of what else I actually need to buy! I hate being dependent on someone else. Especially when I want something, I want it right this second!!! 😠
I’m totally bummed out right now because I am dying for something tart, but my fridge is a wasteland. I’ve got those powdered drink packets lying around, but honestly? No thanks. I’ve already downed half a liter of that stuff today and I don't need any more sugar water. So, I figured I’d just grab an orange, but get this—it’s bone dry on the inside. Just total mush. Gross. 😠
John Baker5 said:I just got totally let down by a pear... I picked out such a beautiful one, fully intending to sit down and enjoy it properly, but then I took a bite and—it was rotten right in the middle 😢
🙂 🙂 I seriously need a replacement pearrrrrr...
Ugh, tell me about it. I absolutely loathe when that happens. Or if I drop something. Honestly, I feel like I could murder someone in that moment, and then I end up bursting into tears from pure frustration (since I'm pregnant right now). Before I was pregnant, a tiny thing like that would pretty much ruin my entire day.
😠😠😠 This damn phone is driving me insane, I’m about two seconds away from chucking it straight into the drywall!!!! It usually runs lightning fast, but right when my kid decides to show off his backside and I’m trying to snap a quick photo of a bump, NOPE. The freaking zoom kicks in automatically and tries to force me to focus on some kid's face instead. By the time I finally got the settings sorted, the moment was gone and he moved... 😠😠😠 Hey, you know what!!!!
Michael Barrett11 said:It’s kind of like when my wonderful husband told me I walk like a penguin. 😛 Given how I actually move, I guess he wasn't really being anything but honest. 🤣
😂😂 That actually made me think of you! Honestly, I was just exhausted—didn't get nearly enough sleep—and then there's this clumsy gait of mine. I felt like some old lady stumbling around! Seriously, I’d give anything for a damn walker right now!!!
Noooooooooo! 😳 I am officially done with this winter crap. I can barely even zip my jacket past my neck, and honestly, I feel like a total slug just trying to shuffle around under all these layers. And don't even get me started on the boots—I am counting down the seconds until I can shove them in the back of the closet! Then there's the car situation. You know when you're sitting there, trying to turn around to park, and you’re just... sweating? Like, Jesus, I'm drenched before I've even left the driveway. Ugh. I’m not stepping foot outside until it hits at least 70 degrees out there!
My mom was getting on my nerves yesterday, too. She kept asking if my apartment gets enough sunlight, and then she goes off about how if the baby ends up with jaundice, I shouldn't stay stuck in the hospital, but instead come straight home so we can "get some sun." First 😕, then 🤦.
And today, my hip was killing me, so I just kind of collapsed. Between being huge right now and walking like a penguin, I felt like a complete wreck and just sat there crying. 😳 They actually laughed at me.
😲 Nausea woke me up this morning, too. It’s somewhat manageable during the day, but now? Now it really hurts.😠 On top of that, my left hip is acting up, and now I've got this thrown into the mix. Honestly, I’m just wondering how I'm going to manage tomorrow...
Look, I don't care if someone calls me fat—it’s fine, I know I’m sitting right here in the room. But if they start trying to lecture me about my weight? That’s where I draw the line. Honestly, I’ve eaten my fair share of good food to get this way. :zubi:
Michael Barrett11 said:I actually broke down in tears yesterday! 🙂
Look, I’m fully aware of my weight. I know I’ve put on a significant amount—about 42 pounds so far—and I realize it’s probably going to be an uphill battle to lose it all, but honestly, I don't need it shoved in my face every single second. 😠 I was hanging out with my mom and aunt yesterday, and predictably, they started commenting on my weight. To make matters worse, I stupidly mentioned that my doctor expects the baby to be around 6.8 pounds by the end of the term (though I conveniently left out him mentioning that the baby seems a bit small 😢), and naturally, they launched into that whole tired lecture about how pregnant women who gain too much weight end up having smaller babies 😢.
It’s true that I’ve had my moments of weakness where I definitely overindulged in sweets and portions, but the issue is that I haven't been able to stay active to burn any of those calories off . And why not? Because from the very start of this pregnancy, I've been dealing with constant back pain and hip issues that have made moving around a struggle. It’s not like I’ve just been lying around, but I haven't been capable of going for long walks. I consider it a major win if I manage to mop the floors in this massive house, only to end up crying in bed at night because my spine is throbbing . Then, of course, there's my "wonderful" husband, who decides to call me fat under his breath, and then goes on to tell me how some other pregnant woman in the waiting room at the OB-GYN (who I didn't even see) looked so fit and slim, like she only had a little bump instead of me waddling around like a penguin. And he said all this right in front of my mother. How am I supposed to be okay with that?!
Honestly, screw them all! :2up: I know I've gained weight, and that is my business to deal with. The same goes for whether the baby turns out to be high-strung because apparently, I get "too stressed" during pregnancy. If the kid ends up being difficult, that's on me. :2up: It's my problem, not theirs. They aren't the ones raising this child, I am!
Oh, honey! 🙂 Seriously, don't cry. Those pounds are just going to vanish like magic once you start moving around again, you'll see. I’m right there in the trenches with you on the scale, too. I’ve already put on 33 pounds, and I’m only in my 30th week—by the time I hit your milestone, I’ll probably be up another 10. If I can just level out at 50 total by delivery, I’ll consider myself a total winner. My husband was a little twitchy about it at first, but he’s chilled out now. And God forbid he tries comparing me to some super thin pregnant girl; he knows better than to go there. 😲 What your husband said? That's just plain mean. 👎
