I made this massive mistake once—early in my pregnancy, I hopped on a bus downtown right around noon. I wasn't even planning on sitting down, despite being pregnant, because I was honestly terrified for my own life. I tucked myself into the corner of the bus, and this old guy nearly leveled me charging toward an empty seat like he was running a drill... As if my life wasn't stressful enough already. 😲😲😲 They’re just awful, and I say this without any guilt: I can't stand those old bus riders. It happened again at the subway station yesterday. This old man is just standing there, blocking the entire walkway, refusing to budge while everyone else tries to get past. Someone had to swerve around him and ended up catching me right in the stomach with an elbow. ☕ 😠

I mean, it's not like I'm walking down the street and letting just any random stranger come up and hug me... It’s usually people who actually matter to me in the grand scheme of things. I really don't see why that would be an issue for me.
🤷 Doesn't bother me either. It's not like I'm letting just anybody touch me. In fact, hardly anyone even gets close.
Steven Reed said:I can—and I absolutely will—but honestly, I’m still reeling that she even thought that was an option. Truly, I'm in shock😢. I have this nagging feeling that, in my mom's eyes, I've remained stuck at eighteen—the age I moved out of her house. Since we live so far apart, it feels like she hasn't quite grasped how much has shifted over the last seventeen years. I don't get how she fails to see that I'm not some helpless kid anymore—she just doesn't see it 😢 . And then comes the lecture—the one where she compares me to some relative who's supposedly a "natural" mother (even though they were all much younger when they had kids than I am now)—all while warning me that my child isn't a pet. It’s heartbreaking; I lose any desire to explain myself and just tell her 😢. She really tore me apart yesterday 🙂. Usually, I just nod, say "aha," and shut the conversation down, but this actually got under my skin 😢.
And don't be sad about it; that's just how moms are. They just don't think... 🤣 My own mom tried to book ten days off work just to be there when I have my baby. But look, I don't want anyone crashing at my place until I actually figure out if I need the help. It's not that I hate visitors—I love guests!—but after a day or two, I'm done. Even if it's my own mother. I just want us to be alone with our little newborn and get used to being a family.
I mean, why can't you just be straight with her? Just lay it out there—look, don't come over, here's the deal, and that's that. It shouldn't be this complicated.
I mean...👍 I wouldn't have had the guts to do that myself. But my guy just showed up out of nowhere and cleared out a massive pile of old CDs recently. Everyone took a quick look at what they were dealing with, testing them out to see if they actually still worked. There's only about 3,000 pieces left. 🙄
She always does this little thing at the end of a conversation, you know? Like she thinks she just *has* to have the last word. Just some random "Hey, say hi to G. for me," or "Don't work too hard." I mean, seriously, what the hell is that even about? 🤷🤷
😂😂😂 Pure genius. You could search the entire country with a magnifying glass and never find people this easy to talk to. 🤦
Honestly, my mom is starting to get on my nerves. We talk almost every single day, and the script never changes. It always kicks off with the same question—"Are you feeling okay? Is anything hurting?" And then it just spirals into this endless loop of nonsensical advice. Don't walk too much, stay out of the draft, dress warmer, use a blanket, put on shoes, eat more fruit, eat more bread, eat some meat, cook yourself a real meal, don't lift anything heavy... 🙄 🙄🙄 In those moments, I low-key just want to hear the sound of a phone receiver hitting someone's soft skull. My husband usually moves out of the room, just to be safe.
🙂 Brenda Bishop2! Man, I feel for you. Honestly, your best bet is to just curate a tight, specific shortlist yourself. Keep them ready to go so whenever he actually finds a spare second to look, you’ve already trimmed down the search. This kind of thing doesn't just happen overnight. My husband put me through the ringer like that when we were planning our wedding, but hey, we’re on the same page now. Just hang in there, stay organized, and try to dig into the research for fun rather than letting it turn into a massive headache.
Amazon???? So what, is it supposed to be Muslim or something??? Honestly, those people are out of their minds. Even if it is, who cares? If you guys actually like it, I don't see any reason why you'd bother changing it. 🤦 People allow all sorts of weird stuff these days. The name is gorgeous! Personally, I think Amazon sounds better than Franka, but both are 👍.
And don't even get me started on this testing nonsense. Why am I suddenly banned from eating anything? Not even a little bit of chocolate? It feels ridiculous. And what makes this test actually useful anyway? They hit you with such a massive glucose spike that there’s no way you could ever replicate that kind of overload at home. Why can't they just let me use a standard glucose monitor and call it a day?🙄
Olivia Miller2 said:It drives me absolutely insane every single time I visit my mother-in-law (and now her sister was there too) and they start with the "Oh my gosh, you can totally tell! Your chest is huge... you've really gained weight... your hips are getting so wide..." routine. EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME!!! Yeah, I have, because I'm PREGNANT!!! Like, give me a break... and then it’s always, "Don't get too big, honey, you'll regret it later..." Honestly, I'm starting to have nightmares about visiting them. Do they seriously have to comment on the same things every time? I usually just play along and say, "Yeah, it's pretty obvious now," but they don't get the hint... I honestly don't care about the pounds (my doctor says I'm doing fine, and according to the charts, I'm actually under my target weight), but they've made me feel so self-conscious that I don't even want to go over anymore. I end up feeling like some giant piece of furniture and it just messes with my head... and it's only them. No one else ever brings this stuff up. 😠😠😠😠 So, I've decided: next time they start, I'm telling them if they don't have anything nice to say, I'm not coming back. We'll see how that goes...😠😠
Maybe you just ran into one of those families (mine included) where you aren't considered pretty or attractive unless you're carrying at least 175 pounds. Honestly, it wasn't until I put on 30 pounds that my own people actually thought I looked decent. 🙄 And whether that's healthy or not? Doesn't matter. That's just how a woman is supposed to look according to them. 🙄
Clumsiness just drives me absolutely insane! I’m constantly dropping stuff—it’s like my hands have a mind of their own. Yesterday, half the groceries slid right out of the cabinet; thank God the olive oil bottles didn't shatter everywhere. And don't even get me started on how much effort it takes just to bend over and pick things up! 🙂 Honestly, at this rate, I’m just going to stop picking things up off the floor entirely and let my husband deal with the mess once he walks through the door... 😢
#1. So my father-in-law decides to chime in with this comment about how Borna sounds like a girl's name to him. 🙄 Look, man, if I decide to name my son Tratinčica, that’s my business, isn't it? Not my problem. #2. Then there’s that one friend who always has to weigh in on childbirth. It’s constant. Like, does it actually matter where you deliver? "Oh, my buddy's kid had a rough time at Mayo Clinic," or "My coworker gave birth at such-and-such time..." 🙄 Please. Why don't you tell me all those horror stories you heard through the grapevine about births that went south? Those are my absolute favorites—really inspiring stuff. #3. And hair. My hair gets greasy at lightning speed. Which kid is talking now? Seriously, what am I supposed to wash it with so I don't have to deal with this mess every single day??
Look, Michael Barrett11, I’m sorry you feel that way, but honestly? Who cares about him. Buy yourself a damn chocolate bar and call it a day; he doesn't need a thing. As for the premature baby, just go out and get it—demand exactly what you want, this one and that one. How you manage to pull it off isn't my business.😳
Kyle Ortiz2 said:Some mindless cleaner from my old job totally rubbed me the wrong way. I was out visiting some friends—they’re honestly great people, we were all joking around and having a lovely time—when this woman just barges in. She starts blabbing, "Did you hear? A's sister just had her twins. Everything seemed fine at the checkup last week, but then..." As if she didn't realize I'm also pregnant. I was practically out of commission all day yesterday, and everyone else there knew that and was being tactful, yet she just had to be incredibly insensitive and spill everything right in front of me.
My mom told me something similar about some girl from back home, right when I finally hit that second trimester relief. 🤦 🙄 Just leave me alone, man. Seriously... 🙄
Gary Evans8 said:I honestly don't know what to say. My little one is only a year old, and I just found out yesterday that I'm pregnant again. Of course, my grandmother immediately asked if I was losing my mind—as if I couldn't have just waited another year or so I have to admit, it stung a bit. Everyone else is absolutely thrilled, though, especially since they all know how hard it was for me to get pregnant after those two miscarriages before my son was born
Instead of just being happy for you... I mean, everyone ends up happy eventually, but there’s always going to be some idiot making stupid comments.
gentlegardener83 said:It’s driving me absolutely insane. Now that I’ve finally started buying things for the baby—thank God I waited this long—my mother-in-law keeps insisting it’s way too early. Seriously? When exactly is the "right" time? When I’m walking around with a massive bump right before delivery, or maybe after the kid is actually born? I gave her such a sharp response that I don't think she'll be making those comments again anytime soon. And don't even get me started on picking out names. My husband's aunt apparently hates the name we chose... as if I care! Every single time we talk, she tries to push her own ridiculous suggestions on us. Does nobody realize that the only people with a say in this are my husband and me? I can't believe she thinks her opinion carries any weight in what our child will be called.😠
😂 People just love attaching importance to things that don't matter. Happens to the best of us...
