He actually had the nerve to say that women just deal with pregnancy and birth without any issues... as if I’m just being dramatic when I tell him everything hurts and I can't do anything. Like, I'm not crazy, I'm just pregnant... and he thinks it’s weird to be scared of something women have been doing for centuries... whatever...
Honestly, now I'm really starting to wonder if I even need him in my life...
Oh, please! Give me a break! 😠 People like that drive me absolutely insane. Like, oh, sorry, does he have to pass a tiny little kidney stone through his system? God forbid! They act like a 99-degree fever is a death sentence and then proceed to complain about it for hours!
My father-in-law once told me how his wife used to pour concrete for their stairs while she was heavily pregnant, yet here I am, barely able to mop the kitchen floor. By the way, I'm currently on strict bed rest... But hey, his son turned out fine, thank God. I don't even want to think about what would've happened otherwise. Since I became pregnant, he has done a complete 180°. For the better, obviously.
Did you actually give him the date, the address, and the time for the wedding? Because if you did, there is zero reason to call him again. It’s not like you’re out here calling every single guest twice, right? If you do decide to reach out, don't let him throw you off your game. You don't owe him some long-winded explanation about your life. A wedding invite should be a quick two-minute deal. Just like, "Hey, it's me. The wedding is at this time and this place. I'd love to see you there. Let me know if you can make it by this date. Later."
My family knows exactly how to push my buttons. All the time. Then I just snap and lose it. Usually, it’s my brother—he’s 23, but honestly, he acts like a toddler half the time, and I just don't have the patience for that kind of nonsense. My dad told me he’s going to ground me from talking to them if I don't chill out.
😁 Huge win! Honestly, I spent a few days feeling just as clueless and tense as you were, constantly worrying if it was something serious—you know, like that whole "cervical displacement" thing my doctor keeps bringing up. 🤷 But hey, not anymore! There was actually one moment where I was so desperate to make the discomfort stop that I seriously considered lighting a cigarette next to my morning Starbucks just to force the urge away, but I didn't. 😁 Anyway, now we can finally actually enjoy the holidays! 😉

Usually coffee doesn't even touch me, but I haven't really had a cup in months, so... fingers crossed for a little Christmas miracle...🤣😢
Look, I just knock back a Nescafe on an empty stomach every morning. It's a habit from way before I was pregnant, and honestly, it almost always sends me running for the bathroom. Almost always, right? Sometimes it doesn't even work. But apparently, instant coffee has decent fiber content, so I mix half a teaspoon of caffeinated stuff with a spoonful of decaf—just so I don't overdo the caffeine intake—and now, besides the taste, I basically use it as medicine. And I take magnesium too, though I haven't really noticed much of a laxative effect from it myself.
Old people drive me absolutely nuts sometimes... My own parents used to dump all their drama on me constantly—stuff I couldn't do a single thing about. It was like they just needed to vent their frustrations about my brother or whatever else was going wrong, and they felt better after dumping it on me, while I was left feeling completely drained. Honestly, it got to the point where I’d be crying myself to sleep instead of resting, and I'd be a total zombie for days afterward. So, eventually, I just hit a wall. I told them straight up: either stop the constant venting, or I'm done coming over. Now? We’re actually doing great. I know your situation isn't an exact mirror of mine, but listen, you have to draw a hard line in the sand. If your mom doesn't have anything constructive to offer, she needs to just stay quiet. And these so-called "friends" of yours??? Forget the mall, forget everything—I wouldn't say another word to people like that if my life depended on it! Is that really what you need in your life? Personally, I don't think so. Fingers crossed for you, stay strong!
Sophia Walker89 said:Well, I don't pay anything extra—even though I don't carry supplemental insurance—but then again, my friend didn't have any either. Though, she did mention that her doctor doesn't perform them, yet hers does... it feels a bit pointless, if you ask me. It hit me pretty hard because this is my first baby, and I find myself constantly obsessing over every little thing online—I just feel this desperate need to know every tiny detail about the process... 😁 When my husband saw how upset I was, he told me he'd drive me straight to a different OBGYN right away, but I eventually calmed down... besides, my doctor is based out of Arlington...
🙂 For crying out loud... Seriously, just go see someone else. This one totally screwed you over, and those are the kind of moments that stick with you—probably forever! She had no business treating you like that, especially if she's handing out photos to other patients. What kind of principle is that? She explicitly said she doesn't do that! Don't let her push you around!
Honestly, I don't really care if people call me fat... 🤷 To me, it’s kind of cute. Maybe it's just because my hormones are actually doing their job for once...
So, I finally broke the news to my poor grandma that I’m pregnant, and honestly? She looked absolutely devastated. Apparently, her other granddaughter hasn't managed to knock anyone up yet, so my news just felt like a personal failure to her. 😢 It completely killed the vibe for me. I wasn't about to deal with that kind of negativity, so I basically told my dad he could handle telling the rest of the family. I mean, I’m happy for myself—obviously—but I am not going to sit here and suppress my own joy just because she can't handle it. Especially since that same girl was acting all stoked for me five minutes before this turned sour! 🙂
I mean, I’m dreaming every single night. Sometimes it’s sex, sometimes it’s some crazy action movie type of stuff, then suddenly I'm looking at ultrasounds and baby stuff... honestly, it's pretty entertaining once you get into it. At least I haven't dealt with any nightmares or anything weird like that yet.
tina_m said:I really hope he grows up fast. He’s 23—honestly, try to remember what you were like at that age. Look, I’m not trying to defend him; what he said was totally out of line and
It wasn't okay, but still... I mean, I waited nine years for my kid to actually grow up, and I can tell you from his 30th birthday that he finally turned into a real man! I guess I taught him right. You just have to set some boundaries early on; don't let them get away with everything, or it becomes a habit. Eventually, especially once they become parents themselves, things tend to click and they mature.
While I've got the keyboard out, is it normal for milk (or whatever) to leak this early??? (I mean, what *isn't* normal at this stage!) Just wondering if this happens often. I need to know how much sleepwear to prep, because I am definitely not washing a new pair of pajamas every single day! I'm currently 14 weeks and 5 days along.
I’ve always had a bone to pick with the older crowd on the subway, but lately? It’s gone from annoying to straight-up dangerous. The other day, some old guy nearly leveled me because he thought he could just bypass six people in line to snatch a seat from an elderly lady! Or when I’m walking down the street near some senior—and yeah, this happens on the train too—and they just hack up a lung without even bothering to cover their mouth. Honestly, it’s disgusting. I practically want to scream at them. And look, if I’m at the doctor’s office and have to wait thirty minutes or an hour while a couple of people cut in front of me, fine. I’ll sit there and take it, mostly because the waiting room is half-empty. But once flu season hits? There is no way in hell I’m sitting there for an hour surrounded by sick people. I’m already mentally preparing my legal complaints for that. Everything else is a perfect 5/5. If it weren't for my breasts being sore and itchy, I wouldn't even realize I was pregnant. 😁
I’ve been scrolling through this thread, and honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed... 😬 So, here’s the deal: I’m getting married near Kutina. And frankly, none of the advice here is actually helping me because it’s all focused on Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, or Washington, D.C. It's like trying to find a mechanic in New York when you're stuck in a tiny town in the Midwest. Does anyone else here live in my neck of the woods—around Kutina, Novska, or nearby? Or better yet, does anyone know a decent local bakery that handles wedding cakes and desserts? If there’s a specific part of this forum where people actually talk about local vendors, please point me in the right direction... I am completely lost right now...😢
rustyviper17 said:...The wedding is set for October 17th, and we still haven't booked a band. Everyone keeps telling me we’re running out of time, but we’ve hit a bit of a logistical wall since we aren't actually living in the Midwest—which is where the ceremony is taking place. Every single band we've contacted refuses to send over a demo, a CD, or even a digital recording so we can actually hear them. It feels incredibly reckless to book someone blindly, especially when we're about to hand over a significant amount of money; it's only common sense to vet them first. To make matters more complicated, I grew up in the Midwest while my fiancé is from a small coastal town in California, so he's naturally a bit skeptical about whether a band from the heartland can pull off the specific songs he's looking for. If anyone knows a reliable band from the Midwest or could pass along a contact number, please let me know before I completely lose my mind...😲
I ended up booking a band from Kutina called Blue Night. They aren't overpriced, either. I've seen them play at a few weddings and local events, and honestly, they're great. They have their own website, so you can just go online and listen to them there. www.boje-noći.com.
