Best protein powders for muscle gain? in Hobbies & Leisure ·

🙈

So what’s the point of it then? 😕 Since I already bought it... 😳

Look, it's just DM-whey. 😁 Honestly, it's pretty useless. 🙂 I wouldn't even finish the whole thing; it's probably loaded with aspartame and god knows what else, while there's hardly any actual protein in there. 🙂

silentdriver5 said:Hey everyone, 🙂

I picked up some whey protein at Walmart; the chocolate flavor is decent, though maybe a bit too sweet 🥳 It says to mix it with cold water—is that a strict rule, or can I use milk instead? I have a feeling milk might actually taste better 🙂😍

Should I drink this in the morning or later in the day? Also, I'm not really doing this for muscle building; I just want to bulk up my plant-based diet 🤷

But there isn't much protein in that stuff. It's negligible. You'd be better off buying some amaranth or quinoa. Just stick to cheese and eggs...

Dy comes in a standard tub with the foil seal on top. Is your serving size $47 for that 500g bag? Helix? You can find Dy at Helix too.

$47 Yeah, for 500g.

wearyotter81 said:Hey there! I'm actually thinking about picking up that Smooth banana flavor while waiting for my Optimum Nutrition shipment to arrive. It’s a bit pricier, which is the only thing holding me back.

How much are you paying for Dy? Inko is $47, but it's definitely worth it. How's the packaging on the Dy? Honestly, I once bought some creatine from Biotech at a little corner shop near Basque (I think it was the one by Stjepan Radica); anyway, I get home, pop the lid, and realize there's no safety seal. 😲 Who knows what could have been inside or how long it had been sitting there. With Inko, at least you know you're getting the real deal.

I stick strictly to Inkospor's Smooth banana. It's honestly top-tier.

Your uterus expands so much, and if you gain an average of 15 pounds, about 12 of those go straight to your belly. Plus, your muscles shift outward as they stretch, from what I understand.
Here’s a photo showing how that looks 😁

As for a photo of my current stomach, it won't really help—you can't see much here, I can only point it out.
I'm honestly not sure how else to explain it. 🤔

placidgardener19, you seriously have a great figure. 😲 😁

wearyotter81 said:I drink this one too (doesn't have to be the chocolate version) and it's fantastic. Honestly, it's the best one I've tried, even just mixing it with water.. 👍

I usually go for the banana flavor. 😍 But man, you should try this crazy combo: mix the chocolate one with strawberry milk. It tastes just like a milkshake. 😍

Morgan Torres said:So, here's my question. Since I row, I was advised to take protein after workouts to help my muscles recover. I also heard it might help reduce body fat and boost my metabolism during daily activities.
Is that actually true?

It's true.

Could I accidentally get too bulky from just taking protein?

You won't suddenly turn into a bodybuilder. Rowing will naturally build some muscle, and the protein just speeds up that recovery process. Building mass doesn't happen overnight, and you'll gain muscle whether you use protein supplements or not.

I saw a video where someone made a shake using two scoops of protein, water, and one frozen banana. What do you guys think about that?

A banana isn't really necessary after a workout.

Linda Hill27 said:Can I just have some whey after my workout and eat a few raisins instead of using glucose in my drink?
I don't really feel like buying glucose, but I see people mentioning raisins. So, how many should I eat? And will it make me gain fat🙂? Honestly, I had to ask...😁

Well, raisins are actually more expensive. Why not just stick with glucose?

jadetiger962 said:As far as I've heard, that whole thing about caffeine and creatine is just an urban legend with no real proof behind it. Honestly, you'll get way more trouble out of drinking booze while you're on creatine.

It's all just nonsense, really—not even worth a debate. It's like worrying about whether you're drinking enough water when taking creatine. If you're slamming enough caffeine to actually negate the effects of your creatine, then the creatine isn't going to be your biggest issue. 😉

Nancy Hernandez43 said:I just saw your photo! Looking at how much you work out... I’m hoping if I stick to this for 2-3 months, I can get close to your physique😍

I really need to put in the work now... I know I won't have this much motivation later on!
As for wanting smaller breasts? Hmm... I'm not sure why, they seem pretty proportional to your frame, but hey, to each their own!

Thanks for the support! I swung by the pharmacy (walked over there around 2 PM) looking for nettle capsules, but they were totally out of stock. They only had the dried herb. I ended up grabbing some Italian water-retention supplement, and now my mom is breathing down my neck, acting like I'm poisoning myself. I can never win with her. I'm heading toward New York City soon, so hopefully the vibe will be a bit more chill regarding my goals! kisses

How long have you been training, and have you noticed any weight changes? Also, are you getting enough Omega-3s and healthy fats? Keep an eye on that. It's essential for anyone trying to lose weight—you have to give your body enough fat so it doesn't panic and start storing everything instead of burning it.

Kenneth Lee16 said:How do you guys even manage to train in this summer heat? This season just drains the life out of you. If I were a pro athlete, I’d head up to somewhere like Seattle or Denver during the summer. You'd actually feel comfortable and energized instead of wiped out.

I actually find it easier to get a workout in during the summer. There's something about working up a heavy sweat that keeps me motivated—plus, my body stays warm and ready to go.😁

But honestly, I find some of your friends just as funny with their constant, predictable drama. I read through their posts in certain threads all the time, so don't think you're my only target. 😉

Actually, thinking back, the funniest thing you ever said was that time you mentioned sitting down to pee. Seriously, that’s still gold to me. 🤣 Real man stuff right there. 👍 Pretty sexy, too. 🤣 You know, I could actually start a whole thread about this. Something like: "What girls really think about guys who sit to pee." 😛 It would probably get a lot of attention.

Go for it. 🙂
