Spa therapy in Palm Springs in Health ·
I can't give you too many specifics here.
My mom heads out for three weeks of therapy every single year. We actually have a house on that hill overlooking the area, so she doesn't stay at the resort even though she’s entitled to. She much prefers sleeping in her own bed!
As for the treatment, she’s really happy with it. Sure, there’s always room for improvement, but like we say around here, it's pretty solid.
Last year, she had this incredible massage therapist. You can pay extra for massages, and apparently, it was worth every penny.
I know they make a big distinction between the old and new wings of the resort; the accommodations in the newer section are definitely nicer.
Mother Teresa isn't home right now, otherwise I'd ask her for more details.
granitegull3 said:Yeah, I get that supplements are just vitamins, but my point is there's a real difference between Herbalife and, say, standard drugstore vitamins...🙂

Actually, I was saying the opposite—if you re-read what I wrote, you'll notice I used the word mostly. 😉

If people don't believe that Herbalife vitamins act differently than vitamins from fruits and veggies because they're part of cellular nutrition, they're actually right! They work even better because they come in higher concentrations and have much more perfect ratios. Plus, since they're truly plant-derived, they hit those cells even harder.🙂 👍

1. How can you be so sure Herbalife vitamins come from some organic plant grown in a random field?

2. What makes you think the origin of Herbalife vitamins is different from standard drugstore brands?

3. Are you trying to say Herbalife vitamins are superior? On what grounds?

nimbledriver81 said:Honestly, you guys are totally underselling Munch-Mayov’s market success. 🙄 😁

Who?
Me? No way! I actually really admire him. The guy is building a real empire. In just a few months, he'll be right up there with that power couple from Little Rock.

Speaking of them, did you guys know they actually sell
weight-loss soap?
The more you use it, the thinner you get!
My husband actually banned me from buying it because he loves showering so much that he was afraid I'd wash right down the drain and leave him a widower! haha!

As for point number 2, don't hold your breath. I used to think I'd never fall for that stuff either.
Your PMS is just hitting you at the ferry terminal.

I don't really let my monthly cycle get the best of me anymore. 🎉 Instead, I just convince myself I’m craving something sweet, so I dive right into some chocolate. 🙂

1. Jealous of what, exactly?
2. Don't worry, you'll be stuck waiting at a Greyhound station soon enough for your five minutes of luck to run out.
3. No need to apologize for chocolate—we all know it's basically a superfood!

I’ve been eyeing some of that Machummerov jewelry lately.
I love the look, but part of me is worried a magnetic necklace might accidentally snap me right to a traffic light while I'm out walking downtown!

I’ve been thinking about it, but I haven't actually pulled the trigger yet.
Honestly, I was such a little terror at the pediatrician's office growing up, so getting myself to see a doctor now is a huge struggle!
I really should schedule a full checkup because I've been dealing with quite a few issues lately. Feeling completely wiped out for a few days every month is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm hoping to get everything sorted this fall.
Plus, I am pretty terrified of menopause hitting. My mom had a really rough time going through it—to be honest, she still hasn't quite bounced back, even though she's 73 now.

Between the stomach aches, being hungry all the time, and feeling irritable, restless, argumentative, bloated, having puffy eyes, and just being grumpy... let's just say I'm wonderful company for everyone around me. I won't even get into it.
So, I just take advantage of it at work to get things organized; suddenly, everyone listens without questioning a thing!🙂 😁

I'm right there with you.
I went 25 years without any PMS symptoms, so hopefully I can just power through these next few years until menopause hits.
I don't turn into a total monster, but I definitely feel completely wiped out.
It’s just one big roller coaster ride!

Whoa, look at you expanding the business!
At this rate, you'll be setting up a booth at the local state fair before you know it!
MaxB said:It’s definitely easier on the joints, but maybe not as much for your cardio—unless you’re dealing with serious heart issues. Personally, I walk a ton! It keeps me moving, and honestly, it gives me some quiet time to clear my head. It’s such a win for both the body and the soul. 👍

I’ve never been a sports person at all; it was just never my thing. I tried yoga for a few months once, but let's be real, that barely counts as a workout! Back in high school, PE was easily my least favorite subject, while I absolutely loved math, physics, and biology.
The most walking I ever did was actually for my own sanity when my kids were little and hitting those teenage years. I needed to get out there so I wouldn't lose my mind or end up shouting at them—or worse, throwing a sneaker at them! A quick thirty to sixty-minute brisk walk, a little pep talk to myself, and I’d head back inside feeling like a brand-new person.
rustymoose54 said:Goodness, I walk all the time! I don't really "work out," but I am constantly on the move.

So many doctors actually claim that walking is even better for you than intense training or running.

That feels like the perfect excuse for me—I don't hit the gym, but I definitely get my steps in, whether I'm out solo or walking the dog!
Betty Rivera14 said:I'll take some salty olives too!

You might want to throw in some authentic Texas sausage, too!
Melissa Cruz2 said:He was out there digging, plowing, sowing, harvesting... doing everything by hand and with the cattle. Just working non-stop, 24/7.

And he probably started his mornings with a little homemade cider.

I’d suggest pairing those pork rinds with some airy, air-dried cheese.
Maybe a few slices of sourdough too.
Then wash it all down with a glass of wine to cut through the richness. Though personally, I’m more of a craft beer girl!
rustymoose54 said:Honestly, I feel a little guilty about all the bacon I eat!

But what about those pork rinds? You know, the perfectly golden, crispy ones that just shatter like chips when you bite them? Oh man, so good!
Betty Rivera14 said:It can't all just be down to genetics. It’s about maintaining a steady, balanced lifestyle and eating right consistently throughout your life—not just waiting until you notice weight gain or health issues pop up.

jadesailor14, I think your husband has a point here! 😬

First off, totally agree. But honestly, genetics still play a pretty big role too.
Secondly, I hear you. Though I think the emphasis should be on finding what's "good" for you. If exercise helps de-stress and keeps you feeling happy, then you can definitely enjoy a treat now and then since you've earned those calories!
Betty Rivera14 said:Me too! 🙂

I'm 43, I don't hit the gym, I don't run, and I definitely don't do CrossFit, but I'm at a healthy weight, feel great, and sleep like a baby.

Plus, I've got enough stress to power a small city! 🙂

So yeah, life isn't always under our 'control.' 😉

My husband always says good sex is the best medicine for everything.
Maybe he's onto something?
violent_femmes9 said:I eat from all six food groups every single day. I don't really do sweets.

That’s my philosophy!
A little bit of everything. Enough to stay fueled, but never overdoing it—just staying moderate.
Others might enjoy some treats, but they aren't mindlessly polishing off a whole box of Thin Mints while watching Netflix like I used to!
I mean, you don't eat that all the time, right? Surely you find room for some pasta or rice and a side of veggies, whether they're cooked or raw.
I definitely have my moments where I just stuff myself with junk food too.
Plus, I can't stand those "light" products. They feel so mindless, and when you actually check the nutrition label, they aren't even that low-calorie anyway!
Melissa Cruz2 said:That sounds like a total red flag!

Here’s what I’m eating: watermelon for breakfast, then soup and a mozzarella salad for lunch. Dinner is usually fresh cheese and light yogurt instead of sour cream. My breakfast and lunch stay pretty much the same every single day, while dinners vary—sometimes it's chicken, hot dogs, a little pancake, tuna, or salads... plus the occasional sweet treat. Honestly, I don't even think my diet is why my cholesterol hit 6.2. I work out quite a bit, too!

If stress could cause this, I'd be the prime suspect!
magriz, please give me some tips on a "plant-based" diet!

To be honest, that menu isn't exactly a health food dream. You really need more variety.
Hot dogs and tuna can actually be pretty high in fat. And cheese is loaded with fats too, regardless of what the label claims.
What about some whole grains? Maybe a little pasta?
Working out won't save you here. It's great, but hitting the gym doesn't automatically make your diet healthy.
Plus, if you're dealing with thyroid issues (since you mentioned having surgery), you might actually want to take it easy on the intense workouts. A few brisk walks with the dogs should be plenty without all the heavy running.

.... 🤣

I’m telling you, it’s all just a big joke.
Don't take everything you read online so literally!
Chloe Walker78 said:Look, sorry, but I’m still a little lost here.
What's actually the difference between the carbs in a potato versus the carbs in some peas (besides just how concentrated they are)?

You'll find them in zucchini, carrots, and green beans too, especially since we're sticking to my meal plan.
We've been circling back to this whole "UN diet" debate forever—you know, the one where people claim certain veggies are carb-free (except for things like potatoes, beans, and peas). Depending on who you ask, green beans and carrots are considered high-carb, while others say they aren't.
Anyway, I just realized I totally rambled there!
Hope that makes sense!
