It feels like they just wanted a white lead to counter that previous all-female lineup, which—let’s be real—was its own kind of racist in its own way. If the cast isn't white, male, and straight, you get hit with another massive fan boycott, so now Sony is probably playing it extra safe.
I find it hard to believe they’ll go with two white leads out of a group of four protagonists. If they did that, people would just scream again about how white characters are getting preferential treatment or need to be overrepresented. Personally, I'm betting on one representative from each major race. And who knows? Maybe we'll see a few old favorites pop up in a cameo here and there.
stormyridge2 said:Personally, I’d aim for a lineup like this: one white guy, one white woman, an Asian actor, and a Black actress. It feels diverse enough to be modern without looking like they're trying way too hard to check boxes just for the sake of it.
If you ask me, go with one white guy or woman. For everyone else, mix it up with a Black actor, someone Asian, and then either a Latino or Middle Eastern lead. That's how you get a real balance.
stormyridge2 said:The whole point of this massive shitstorm is that the "progressive" crowd absolutely panics at the mere suggestion of a man stepping back into the lead role—let alone a white guy. I mean, didn't Sigourney have a kid in the original duo? That kid could easily be one of the new Ghostbusters, especially since this movie is supposed to be a direct sequel.
Word on the street is that the main leads are actually just teenagers, somewhere in the 13 to 16 age range.
stormyridge2 said:The backlash is already starting to brew. Apparently, the "progressive" crowd is throwing a fit because the new Ghostbusters movies might feature "white guys" in the lead roles again.
Not gonna happen. The new characters are going to be the actual protagonists here. We’re looking at a 50/50 gender split, at least. As for the racial makeup? Who knows yet. Honestly, the actors from the original films might not even show up, and if they do, they'll likely just be making cameos. Besides, let's not pretend everyone in the original cast was white to begin with.
The story centers on four teenagers—two guys and two girls—who take the lead this time around. It’s set up to be a direct follow-up to the original two films, though there's some chatter that we might not see any of the old guard at all, apparently because the original cast isn't exactly jumping at the chance to return.
I mean, let’s be real, when you look at it compared to other movies in the exact same genre, it’s clearly "diversity." You have hundreds upon hundreds of films centered entirely on white characters, and then you have this one single movie focused on Asians. It's just something different, plain and simple. That's where the whole "diversity" label comes from.😉
I actually dug the first movie, but looking at these trailers, this sequel looks like an absolute train wreck.
It’s completely missing the vibe of the original, and honestly, that terrible music is totally killing the mood for me—it feels nothing like the soundtrack from the first film.👎
So, I picked up an original Windows 7 Key about two and a half years ago. Everything went smoothly at first—I activated Windows without any issues and used it just fine for those two and a half years. It worked perfectly, I was getting all my updates, everything was totally fine.
But then, out of nowhere a couple of days ago, this message pops up claiming my Windows might not be genuine and telling me I need to download some kind of verification tool. I guess that program actually installed itself or whatever, and at the time, everything seemed okay. But then I turned my computer back on today, and now it’s straight-up telling me my Windows isn't genuine, throwing this error box right in my face: "Windows 7 build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine"
Honestly, wtf? Like, if it wasn't original, there's absolutely no way I would have been able to activate it two and a half years ago.🤦
To me, this feels less like an actual cinematic adaptation and more like some low-budget parody of the show. It’s completely disconnected from the original material—honestly, just a total disaster of a movie.

Adam Moore3, they don't even have half of that stuff in stock at the local Best Buy (at least not the motherboard or the GPU).
Ugh, I totally missed the point.👎 It's too late now, though—I already pulled the trigger and paid for the order through Future.😵
I actually took fadedorca66's advice and placed my order through Future. 🙂
Look, I’m fully aware that buying parts individually is usually the smarter way to go, but let's be real—I have absolutely no clue how to build a PC myself. If I tried to buy everything separately, I'd just end up paying some technician a massive premium to put it together for me anyway. And honestly, here in San Francisco, finding anyone willing to touch a build without charging you upwards of $150 is nearly impossible.
My current rig is about eight years old. Back then, it was a serious investment; I dropped about $3,000 on it. This time around, my budget is significantly tighter. It’s been a reliable workhorse for all eight years, but lately, it’s started to struggle. Out of nowhere, it just starts shutting down on its own. And once it goes dark, getting it back up and running becomes a total nightmare.
Trying to power it on has become genuinely stressful. I get this sinking feeling that if I turn it off one more time, it’s going to stay dead forever. That fear, combined with the technical headache, is exactly why I need a pre-built configuration rather than tinkering with parts. I need a new machine urgently—like, within the next few days. My old computer is basically on life support at this point.
If I have any regrets, it's having to part ways with my old case. Even after eight years, it still looks pretty slick—it’s got that built-in LCD screen that tracks temperatures, CPU load, and all those little details. It was a high-end piece of gear when I bought it.
Most of the standard cases available now won't even come close to looking that good. 👎
I wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer by any stretch, but I really want a system capable of running modern titles smoothly whenever I feel like playing something. 🙂 I'm really crossing my fingers that the setup from Future hits the mark.
I'm looking to pull the trigger on a new PC, but I'm honestly stuck staring at these specs and having no clue which direction to go. Which one of these two setups actually holds more water?
Honestly, I don't even count the Aliens vs Predator movies as part of the actual Predator franchise. Personally, I thought both of them were pretty damn terrible.👎
"We built this movie around the concept that even though Cinderella wants to find love, her whole life isn't just defined by whether or not she lands a guy," Branagh explained, noting that she doesn't wallow in self-pity or see herself as some kind of victim.
Don't hold your breath for any groundbreaking originality here. Honestly, about 90% of the Cinderella adaptations we've seen over the last twenty years follow this exact same formula.👎
If I had my way, I’d actually love to see an adaptation that sticks to the original, untouched story for once.👍
