Predictable from the opening scene to the final credits. I loved the first two films, but the last two were absolute garbage. They really should have just combined them into one. Am I glad I skipped the theater? I am.
Dots on my screen, is my GPU dying? in Hardware ·
Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's a temperature issue since I recently replaced the fan and it doesn't feel hot to the touch.
It's good to know if it's just the drivers. I ran into some driver issues when I reinstalled macOS, so that might be it. I'll try installing them next week. 🙂

What if the screen goes black for just a second, then pops back on with a notification in the bottom right saying the "graphics driver has recovered from an unexpected error"?
I'm worried my own hardware might be nearing its end😢

Has anyone ever actually bought these wooden shoe stretchers? 😁
Something like this or maybe this kind of thing
Do they actually work?

They’ve become such a tedious duo lately. Especially him—I just can't stand him. Is it his face? He seems irritating in every single movie he's in.
You can really see the difference in the color grading and special effects compared to what we see today.
I find series much more appealing because they offer shorter segments; if a show fails to capture my interest, I haven't wasted as much time as I would on a movie, yet if it succeeds, the enjoyment lasts much longer.

I face several issues with cinema. Watching a film alone can be tedious due to the length; I prefer viewing them in a theater or with company. Modern filmmaking has largely become quite poor. It is difficult to recall even a handful of titles that aren't built on tired tropes. Most productions simply repeat old patterns, and 90% of the movies I have watched feature incredibly weak and cliché endings. I view this as a massive failure within the American film industry, which is why the entire concept of cinema has become somewhat distasteful to me over the last decade. I avoid older films because the visual quality is frustrating and it is difficult to discern which ones are actually worth watching. Newer releases, however, come with more reviews, making it easier to gauge the quality beforehand. Furthermore, the tendency for almost every film lately to exceed two hours is incredibly irritating.
I am far more likely to be disappointed by a movie than by a series, so my vote goes to series!
Night owl? in Psychology ·
I have dealt with this exact issue my entire life. I can fall asleep every night, but it isn't until somewhere around 3:00 or 4:00 AM. Once I lie down, my brain just switches on. I start spiraling through "what if" scenarios and overanalyzing everything that happened during the day. I simply cannot stop the cycle; I have to wait two or three hours for my mind to exhaust itself before sleep finally comes. Since starting my job, things have stabilized slightly, but because I only work two or three days a week rather than every day, maintaining a consistent circadian rhythm is difficult.

I often find relief by wearing an eye mask. Not too tight, but just enough so that when I relax my facial muscles, my eyes stay closed. Without it, the effort required to keep my eyes shut actually keeps me more awake. Usually, once I can't open my eyes, I can quiet my thoughts and drift off within a few minutes. If anyone wants to give it a try, 🙂 just keep in mind that it isn't instant. Your brain still needs time to tire out—expect at least thirty minutes to an hour of tossing and turning.

Rachel Jones said:It usually takes a few months to break in sneakers. I have a pair of All Stars that absolutely wrecked my feet, but I eventually made it through... try loosening the laces a bit more.

That sounds great. 😢 Thanks, I’ll try breaking them in, otherwise I'll just stuff them with paper to keep them shaped. 😁

Is it possible to stretch shoes out a little bit? I bought some fake Converse in a size 37 because my feet were spilling out of the 38s. They feel fine for a quick trip, but after walking any significant distance, they start chafing terribly at the back. It’s not even the toes—though they ache a bit—it’s the pain in my heel that is just unbearable. Honestly, I was practically limping my way home; all I needed were crutches. I assumed that since they are canvas, they would loosen up with wear, but after five or six uses, they still feel exactly the same as day one. 😢
Time is flying by way too fast in Psychology ·
darksurfer4 said:That is absolute nonsense; while it might feel like time is moving faster, the reality is we just can't finish tasks like we used to because our frantic pace of life has skyrocketed, largely due to the internet, not some cosmic black hole.☕

Perhaps it is. I would personally rule out that possibility. A professional handles these matters; why would they lie to us intentionally?

When I recall those summer breaks back in elementary school... they felt endless, as if they lasted for half a year.
At work, when things get busy, I barely have time to turn around before it's already noon. 😲Five hours pass by like one.

A professor once told me that time has actually accelerated due to some black hole anomaly in space occurring since the early 90s. He claims days used to feel infinite, yet today, there is simply never enough time to get anything done...

The romance was a bit irritating, though fortunately it didn't have a happy ending so the movie wasn't totally ruined 😁. It felt predictable, especially that final showdown with the "main villain." Wouldn't it have been better to focus on the city and the volcano instead of all that romance? It’s worth a watch regardless.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje steals every single scene. What a king; I've been a fan since OZ 🙏

How do I get here? - Brooklyn in Miscellaneous ·
Take the 7 line out toward the Plains and transfer to the 4 or the 11. Alternatively, just grab a bus to the main hub and switch to the 4. That’s all there is to it. 🤷
It feels like you're traveling halfway across the country, doesn't it? It shouldn't feel this far from New York City. 🤣

That's impossible. Where did you even hear that? I have never heard the word comb used that way. What a ridiculous term 🤣
.
Back in Elementary School, I always struggled to catch my bus. I would wake up at 7:00 AM, and the bus arrived at 7:35 AM. Eventually, I realized that if I simply woke up ten minutes earlier, I could make it without any stress or rushing.👍
Where can one purchase these battery-operated mini fans? Does anyone happen to know the price?

true crime in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I support the proposal for a new PDF. Perhaps this might fall under "political insider," but that section is such a cluttered mess of a million different topics that it’s impossible to navigate. If we had a dedicated "true crime" PDF, everyone would immediately understand the content, and engagement would skyrocket. People don't even bother reading "political insider" because the title is ridiculous and fails to reflect what actually belongs there.
Interview experiences - let's discuss! in Psychology ·
It is clear you have never actually sat through a job interview before. Your lack of understanding regarding the process is frankly embarrassing. Why not simply step away from an interview you are clearly unprepared for?
Interview experiences - let's discuss! in Psychology ·
Why can't people grasp that a session with a therapist and an interview with an employer are entirely different worlds? They share nothing in common. 🙂

A psychologist isn't vetting your job skills; they are studying you through a completely different lens. Non-verbal cues, eye contact, and tone of voice are everything in therapy, yet those factors rarely matter to a hiring manager.
Interview experiences - let's discuss! in Psychology ·
No, that's not how it works. In major American corporations, you first meet with a psychologist. Only if they determine you possess the necessary traits—which an employer isn't qualified to judge themselves—do you move on to the final interview with the hiring manager. You essentially face two separate evaluations. The psychologist focuses on your background and behavioral history, while the employer assesses entirely different criteria.

And this headline is even more nonsensical than the last one. How is anyone supposed to understand what the topic is about?😕
