Not even worth commenting on—but seriously, what the hell is "kevčija"? 🤷
Edit: Just realized my girl isn't even texting me back. No calls. Nothing. Thanks for nothing, little joys of life 😍
driftingcobra7 said:It honestly feels like everyone is just losing their grip on basic grammar these days... I mean, it’s getting pretty wild, especially when you see people typing out things like "with me" or "with nobody" using those totally broken, non-standard phrases that just don't make any sense in English. 🙂

Oh, for sure. Like, if you say something like: "Those two (and yeah, we're talking about two girls 🙂) are going out with me today..."
They'd probably take a frying pan to the head immediately. 😈
Not even about the pregnancy, but I’m already getting roasted for being illiterate! Every time I spot "summer" or "summerizing," I just want to end it all—and today, bless my heart, I stumbled right into "spray for summering." Like, what is wrong with people?! 🤦
Sarah Adams3, next time you pull a stunt like this—before my heart actually gives out on me—remember to lead with "I had a dream that"... 😲 🤣
Kaktusić, if you can, just try to tune her out... I’m speechless, seriously. 😢
OF COURSE everything is going to be just fine... 🙂
Frank Garcia48 said:This one caught me completely off guard. I honestly never saw it coming, and clearly, I need to watch my back from here on out. As far as anyone else goes, nobody knows I'm pregnant—not even beyond my parents and a couple of close friends—because we dealt with some complications early on. There is zero chance anyone besides my mom or maybe my best friend will even touch my belly, and even then, only once the baby starts kicking enough for them to actually feel something.

Yuck. 😲
Honestly, I'm glad I've started developing a tolerance for this kind of garbage—it's basically practice for when I have to snap at those nosy neighborhood busybodies trying to hover over the stroller. It's gonna be a total showdown. 😈
Frank Garcia48 said:Seriously... just yesterday, some guy I call a friend (who I actually can't stand, by the way) went ahead and rubbed my stomach, and I’m barely even 14 weeks along😠

I've never been a big fan of being touched, and honestly, the whole idea of people rubbing my belly during pregnancy makes my skin crawl. But nobody has even dared to touch me yet, and then this idiot just goes for it without a second thought😲 I mean, come on—my bump is barely starting to show, I can't even feel the baby moving yet, so what gives him the right to just reach out and grab my stomach like that!

Yuck. This stuff used to drive me insane back when I actually gave a damn about what people thought. It's always these crazy, totally weirdos—not even anyone close to me—just reaching out with their hands straight for the stomach. Now? I just move. No hesitation. Just a sharp step back and they're left waving their hands at thin air. Then I tell them, "Don't touch me, I don't want to be touched." Just back off, everyone.
Sean Long4 said:So, I showed up to work yesterday, trying to get through my to-do list, when a coworker walks up and just asks me, "So, did you have the baby yet?"... Yeah, well, turns out the kid
is right here under my desk

Anyone actually smart left in the building at 3 PM? Or is everyone just coasting until the clock hits five?

Jonathan Grant2 said:It blows my mind too.😕 I feel like I’m constantly getting hit with stuff like, "Is the baby kicking yet?" or "Has the baby arrived?"... I seriously have no clue where people get these weird ideas from. 🤷

🤦

And it honestly gets under my skin so much when people just hover around my midsection and chatter away like crazy... especially since I'm only about 14 weeks along, so there isn't even anything to talk about yet. 🤷

This whole obsession with Doppler is just pure nonsense—honestly, if you ask me, it’s nothing more than a relic from back before we had decent ultrasounds. It’s that awkward middle ground where you can’t even hear a heartbeat during a checkup, and you're basically left waiting until you actually feel those first kicks just to be sure everything is actually moving. Kind of a nerve-wracking way to live, right?🙄
Whatever the excuse is, the question itself is just plain stupid—and honestly, pretty gross. Luckily, I only had to hear it from some clueless, old-school busybody (yeah, my mother-in-law). Everyone else around me seems to have more than two brain cells to rub together, thank God. Otherwise, I probably would’ve bitten someone’s head off by now.
Stupid questions. Like, people who start by asking how I am, only to immediately dive deep into my business and ask, "So, what does he actually do?"
🤦
I mean, what do I DO? I'm studying quantum physics, for God's sake—maybe I'll compose a symphony later... like some kid in a sandbox, what on earth would she be doing?!?!?
Sean Long4 said:Yesterday, the grandmother of my partner started talking complete nonsense... she's 83, so her thoughts tend to wander all over the place, but suddenly she’s fixated on cat hair. We don't have a cat, nor are we planning on getting one, yet she starts telling us how someone—who knows who—found cat hair in their lungs. Honestly, who cares? It's just bizarre...

So, I told my partner we should head out for a walk through the hills... I mean, why stay stuck here? I can't be expected to sit around in this "rut" forever, especially since I'm actually looking forward to starting a family myself... and so on...

But then everyone leaves, and I can't exactly be the flake who walks out, so I'm stuck sitting there listening to her ramblings. My patience for this kind of thing is pretty much non-existent lately.

God, give me a break with the hair stuff. I’m allergic to cats and—I'll be honest—I'm more of a dog person anyway—but this is just getting on my nerves.
It's like they're comparing some stray alley cat from a hundred years ago—something scruffy that nobody ever even touched—to modern house cats that people actually groom and take care of. Honestly, there are some truly delusional people out there. 😠
driftingcobra7 said:.. 😂😂😂 and honestly, it seems like you’re just hunting down every possible insecurity of a pregnant woman, even your own.. are you a masochist? 😁 ..just kidding.. maybe try picking up some good prose instead... I've been reading John Dunning lately, those mystery series with detective Cliff Janeway... they're actually really good, highly recommend! 🙂

..well, you're probably right, I suppose things aren't going to go any other way.. 👍

You can always threaten them with cat hair pellets 🤣
Man, driftingcobra7, you’re really out here coming for the cats. The ones smoking cigarettes are basically walking pregnancy posters, yet you—with your well-behaved little house cat—almost look like a murderer. God, I hate how narrow-minded people can be. 😠

I just stared at a magazine for a few minutes and felt my soul leave my body... one of those women's rags designed for people who've completely checked out of reality. Basically, it goes like this:
- Sex... uhm... yeah, I like it, and I have fond memories. Once upon a time, long ago...
- Sunscreen. Not even planning on seeing the sun this year.
- Anti-cellulite cream. For the first time, I actually have some significant amounts to deal with, and apparently, I'm not even allowed to touch anything.
- New makeup trends. Who cares? It's not like I have anywhere to go.
- Clothes. Nothing fits.
And there I was, buying all this stuff like I was just relaxing and treating myself in the afternoon... as if I'm trying to drive myself to an early grave. 🙂
So my mom was just on the phone with me—classic move—wondering, "Oh, how is it that you and your aunt are buying everything for the baby while your in-laws haven't lifted a finger?" Like, seriously? Do they even ask? Does it never cross their minds what kind of stuff you actually need? I mean, good grief, it’s for their own grandkid. What is wrong with people?
... 🤦 ...
I don't see them much (thank God), they don't ask anything, and I don't bother asking them... and yeah, I KNOW they're idiots, but honestly, I just can't be bothered to waste my energy explaining exactly *how* deep their stupidity goes—there's zero point. It's not like they'll suddenly become functional human beings just because I pointed it out... I'm just over it. And she just keeps going and going, the same old broken record, over and over again...
Jeffrey Barnes16 said:Well, yeah—and apparently, they spend their nights solving complex calculus problems just to wind down, because otherwise, sleep simply won't come... though, if I’m being perfectly honest, that might just be my own jealousy talking. 😉

Exactly. And then you get some clueless reporter writing stuff like, "She picked up the languages from her parents and is now mastering them." 🤦
Give me a break. Seriously? "Mastering" things at three years old? Give me a freaking rest...
I mean, sure, if you grow up with parents who have these issues, she might pick up a few basic words—roughly the same level as any kid here in the States—and now *that's* front-page news? It’s always depressing seeing these insecure losers try to fix their own baggage through innocent kids. And man, my heart goes out to the daycare workers; don't even get me started on what those teachers deal with on a daily basis... 🙄
I married an idiot. I know, sounds harsh, but honestly? What else am I supposed to call him?
Like, why on earth would I need a baby bathtub? It’s totally useless because he thinks it's perfectly fine for Domagoj to give Marina their little girl a bath in the big tub—where he basically holds her with one hand (!!!😲!!!) while rinsing her with the shower head (🤦) (she's barely three months old, btw)
Seriously, what am I even supposed to say to him at this point...
He spends all day talking shop with his "genius" buddies and relatives, yet somehow manages to never actually listen to a single smart thing anyone says. It's exhausting 🙄
I swear, reading this kind of "news" gives me an instant stomach ache... 🙄

🤦
My husband and his constant "yeah, we'll get to it, we'll get to it" routine—except this time it’s about cleaning up his mess. And honestly? If I don't at least toss one of his four freaking soccer bags off the balcony, I'm going to lose it.😠
Terry Ramos60 said:Well, if you are truly concerned about ensuring your child isn't fed complete junk, then nutrition is clearly important to you, isn't it? Surely you believe it is vital for the baby's overall well-being!
Nothing is ever perfectly ideal, so why make things more complicated than they need to be?

If you leave your child in the care of people who refuse to respect your views, your methods, or your reasoning, aren't you essentially giving them silent permission to shove chocolate into that three-month-old's mouth?
If you absolutely refuse to let anyone feed chocolate to your infant at three months old—why would you ever put them in a situation where someone else even has the opportunity to do so?

Are we really going to leave a baby with grandparents who won't listen to a word you say because they think they know better than you, only to sit around later complaining about how they did this or that against your wishes?!

The kid isn't even born yet. I'm not reading tea leaves or staring into a crystal ball here—I can't tell you with 100% certainty how this is going to play out.
From what I've seen, the types who push that "we did it this way and everything was fine" nonsense are usually older and stubborn as hell, convinced they've got all the answers. My plan? I'll try to explain my reasoning. Will they actually listen? No guarantees there. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Who knows. I'll deal with it when I get there.
I don't think my kid is going to go into a coma if they get a tiny bit of chocolate—but I expect my wishes to be respected. If I say no chocolate, it means no chocolate. How that works in the real world? We'll see.
And yeah, ideally, I wouldn't ever have to use childcare. Not even because of the chocolate thing, honestly—just because I don't really like them. But I'm realistic; I know I don't live in Wonderland and that scenario isn't happening.
Terry Ramos60 said:But surely a child will be looked after if you actually have some level of trust in them!
If you are constantly worrying that their specific actions might jeopardize a child's safety, health, or general well-being, wouldn't you naturally decide not to leave that child unattended?
Would you really just hand a toddler over to a grandmother who thinks it's perfectly fine to let them wander along a busy street without even holding their hand, simply because she happens to be the grandmother?!

Man, you're getting worked up—we were talking about food in the first place!
We already know everything is just perfect in your little Pink Floyd fantasy land—grandparents included. Whatever.
Sarah Adams3 said:You poor things...
I haven't even been asked what I need to bring the baby home in yet...
My mother-in-law hasn't once checked if we need anything, since we supposedly have everything ready... My husband told them he'd buy the stroller, probably just because he said we should ask for one,
but honestly, money is tight right now...
As long as he keeps making me that salad every third day... I guess that’s the most important thing.

My parents didn't buy us a single thing either. Not even a pair of socks. But you know what doesn't bother me? It's not the lack of gifts—it's the fact that for months they kept repeating themselves like broken records about how they were gonna buy this, and that, and everything else... then when it actually came time to shop, suddenly they're broke. Look, you don't HAVE to buy anything (actually, I prefer it that way—don't want to feel like I owe anyone anything), fine. Just don't talk a big game if you aren't going to follow through.
Why do people even assume they're entitled to gifts by default?
