Green light from me too...
We aren't hitting the coast this year—specifically, we usually head to Key West, which always happens to clash right with my due date. Honestly, I wouldn't dare go down there in July, even a month before the baby arrives. It’s a total wasteland out there—no major hospitals, just some tiny little clinic (and while the doctor there is great, still... hm). Plus, if the weather turns, the ferries just stop running entirely. But Miami? That's a completely different story!
Jerry Lee36 said:I’m just getting started here, but even before this, I was getting the creeps—now, hearing these older women claim a 4 or 5-month-old baby is going to "come alive" or something? It's wild. 😱

Whenever people ask when my kid is finally gonna "wake up," 😱 it honestly makes my skin crawl. Plus, I feel like my husband just loses it—he immediately feels the need to explain himself and correct their nonsense... and then he just gets sucked into these endless arguments with the old ladies. 🙂

My mother-in-law. Just a primitive old lady, honestly. I tried explaining it to her. She just doubled down. Same old story. ☕
Just now, some thread about animal testing in the Beauty section set me off—someone wrote a description saying they kill "rat KIDS" because of "irrelevant stuff." 🤦
Let me be clear right out of the gate: I pay close attention to this. I don't support testing. I buy from brands with the Leaping Bunny logo (or the gray one if I absolutely have to), but seriously, what the hell... "rat KIDS"...

Btw, don't forget I'm about to tip MTA AGAIN—heading into New York City this Friday afternoon, and wouldn't you know it, the driver is that same jerk from the 248 route. And get this—the idiot is sitting in his little booth, driving AND smoking. 😲
Just great. Not like it’s a closed environment or anything.
Seriously, what a total caveman. I've been avoiding indoor smoking since I found out I was pregnant, and now I've gotta deal with this guy poisoning me on the bus?! Honestly, I’m speechless. Such absolute trash... 😠
David Fox88 said:It drives me crazy how the second people find out you’re pregnant, every unsolicited comment about your weight, your body, or your look becomes fair game. 😠 I mean, you don't just walk up to random people on the street and say, "Hey, you've put on some weight," or "Look at that gut," or "What are you even eating?" But if you're pregnant, everyone feels entitled to chime in—asking if you've lost the baby weight from your last pregnancy, telling you your bump is already showing, or claiming it's definitely not just the baby. It's exhausting. 🙂

Tell me about it. Only problem is, in my case, comments aren't even allowed. Plus, thanks to all that, my mother-in-law's acting offended. 😁
John Baker5, honestly, it’s wild when you actually think about it... Good for you for laughing, though—if it were me, I’d probably want to nail them to the nearest wall. Seriously, hearing people ask "how could someone like that even exist" is just... whatever. Maybe because they still view pregnancy like some primitive ritual? Or maybe they think they all gave birth via the Holy Spirit, right?
Olivia Miller2, I don't even know where to start with this one... I mean, I know exactly what I'd say, but I'll keep my mouth shut so I don't go offending anyone's religious sensibilities...
Bottom line: I can't stand old ladies.
They’re driving me insane... That’s why they act like such pieces of trash—because they know they have a total monopoly. Fine. If their response is just some canned "we'll notify the people in charge," then I’m writing right back to demand to know exactly what those "people in charge" actually said. Let's see how far they want to take that game...
Absolute scum. They’re either ripping us off with ticket prices, always running late, or they’ve cut down the number of trams and buses so we’re all packed in like cattle. Plus, you have to deal with whatever attitude every single one of their lowlife drivers feels like throwing at you. And they still have the nerve to take holidays, Christmas breaks, Easter breaks, vacation time, and every other excuse under the sun while complaining? Honestly, they deserve to be cleared out, one by one. Starting with their beloved Bloomberg at the top.

...honestly, this whole thing just sent my blood pressure through the roof! Back when I was first pregnant, I was absolutely craving sour milk, you know? Like, obsessed. And she used to go out and buy this raw milk from a local farmer and put it in jars to ferment for me...but man, I guess I learned my lesson, because after reading all those scary stories about fake Listeria outbreaks, I totally stopped drinking it. But then, she goes ahead and buys three more gallons and puts them in two big jars anyway! I told her straight up, "Look, I am not touching that anymore, please just leave me alone, I don't need any Listeria in my life..." That was back on Friday...and then she headed off to Canada...and we followed her over the weekend since it was the anniversary of my father-in-law's uncle passing away. Well, today I’m looking at that milk...the cream that had risen to the top has thickened up weirdly, and there are these little spots of red, pink, green, and black...it looks like a freaking rainbow. Translation: bacteria!!! 😲😲 'So there's three gallons of milk sitting there....so I just tossed it...👍 ...and then she calls me up...."Hey, honey, grab that milk from downstairs and use it to make some burek or mashed potatoes!" and I was like, "No way, it went bad, I threw it out..." Oh my god.....she goes, "Why?! Seriously, it doesn't matter if it's spoiled, that's just how it is! You shouldn't have done that, what a waste...!!!" 😱 😠

...yeah, sure, I should have just swallowed it and poisoned myself, my baby, and my husband just so she wouldn't feel like she wasted a few bucks $6.75!!! ...yeah...of course... 🙏🙏 🙄

Look, if your $6.75 goes bad, that's a way bigger deal. Every woman knows that—just ask my mother-in-law. 😳
And it doesn't even mean it's spoiled; even stuff at the grocery store has an expiration date, but that doesn't mean it's actually rotten later on...

I sent an email to the local transit authority. I know it's probably pointless... but I'm still shaking from how pissed off I got...
Bus situation today; heading back to my hometown from Washington, D.C.
The driver? God help us, what is wrong with these people. At that stop near the Liszt concert hall, he pulls away without even glancing at the rearview mirror, the doors, nothing—he just leaves. This elderly woman starts yelling at him to stop. The idiot just keeps driving. She tries again, sounding totally panicked. Nothing. A few of us join in, shouting "stop !!!" But no luck.
The woman finally reaches this moron, right on the edge of a breakdown, practically in tears. She’s old, looks so fragile it breaks your heart. And she keeps repeating, "Please stop, my husband couldn't get on, I have to get off, he has Alzheimer's."
And the idiot does NOTHING.
Does this half-wit even know what Alzheimer's is, let alone care?
The poor lady was BEGGING at the next stop, but this absolute jerk wouldn't even give her the decency of a single sentence. It wasn't even rush hour, no traffic, nothing; he could have pulled over for literally three seconds, let her out, and moved on. When he finally did pull up by the Sun clinic, she barely made it out before tripping and falling because she was so shaken up. That stinking piece of trash just shut the doors and kept rolling like nothing happened—typical ZET-style behavior. Honestly, his sheer rudeness and lack of humanity pissed me off so much that I'm calling their damn headquarters right now to find out where I can file a formal complaint against their incompetent staff. I KNOW it’ll probably go nowhere—because when you're dealing with a thieving monopoly like them, who cares?—but I'm at least going to tell them exactly what I think.
Poor old lady... I really hope she found him... 😢

I got so worked up I actually started tearing up.
I'm writing them an email right now. May they all rot.

In my case, his parents are the biggest headache. They just don't get—and honestly, they never will—why we aren't rushing to the altar right now, even if they're forcing the issue.
I finally ended up in a massive blowout with them after trying to explain myself over and over again to no avail. Honestly, I didn't know how else to handle it besides pure anger and exhaustion. 🤷

I tried that! But then I started breaking out in hives every time I heard them talking through their son. I swear, I can see it—they've clearly coached him, and that actually feels way worse than when they come at me directly. 😠

bubimira, from my extensive experience, I can tell you the most important thing is how you organize things in your own head. Make a pact with yourself that this stuff won't touch you, and don't get sucked into those long, pointless arguments with people who have such rigid mindsets. Yeah, sure, we'll see, definitely, yup, yep, just stick your finger in your ear to everything they say. 😬
At the end of the day, the decision is entirely up to you and your partner (half-crazy as that might be 😬), and nobody has the right to step in as an uninvited guest.

Ughhhhhh, I seriously CANNOT stand it when people stick their noses into whether someone should get married or not—and why. Like, seriously, just fuck off. We got hitched two and a half years ago, kids weren't even on the radar, but everyone—and I mean EVERYONE—kept asking me, "So, when are you expecting?"!!! As if that's the ONLY reason anyone ever gets married, or like everybody who's pregnant is suddenly on a deadline to rush to the courthouse! 😠
Hannah Lewis2 said:Man, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Honestly, I’d probably lose my mind after being brainwashed like that. Thank God we don't live around here. 🙂
It's a total disaster. Trying to juggle all that every single day... I don't know how anyone does it, seriously.

The only thing I juggle is my husband—mainly by tuning him out whenever he starts whining. 🤣
I barely see my relatives: they took it deadly personal when, after showing up unannounced for the third time, I refused to play hostess. Instead, I just made some coffee, sat down, and went back to what I was doing (specifically, picking at my nails 🤣). We visit them maybe once a decade, if I absolutely have to; luckily, I'm usually busy during the week, and they're tucked away in the middle of nowhere every weekend. The less I see or hear from them, the better.
Look, apologies in advance—this post is gonna be a long one. If you don't have the patience, just skip it.
I get it, seriously, I GET that he’s worked his ass off for everything he’s got... and I respect that. But for real, you can't honestly expect someone to just drop cash and buy a freaking HOUSE outright!
And thank God, we're always a few months ahead on the mortgage; we really can't complain about the loan being an issue. I just don't get how he can't manage to be HAPPY and GRATEFUL for what we actually have. Like, does it never cross his mind how many people our age can't even land a place with a mortgage, let alone without one? Why can't he think positively for once—how short this whole period of life actually is compared to the rest of it... 🤷
No. Nope. You’ve always gotta struggle, and life is supposed to be CONSTANTLY HARD and MISERABLE. It's just more of that nonsense from my father-in-law's sermons—you know, because he, obviously, had it soooooooooooo incredibly tough, trekking miles through snow up to his waist while dodging starving wolves and all that... 🙂. And now my guy is pulling the same stunt: "Oh, we need to figure out how we're paying the mortgage..." What mortgage, genius? For September?! (The previous ones are already paid up). Honestly, sorry, but I DON'T WANT to waste my brainpower worrying about it... why doesn't it occur to him how many people out there CANNOT pay their mortgages and are falling behind! Point is: if you god forbid don't have a problem, go ahead and CREATE one!
Because screw a life where things are okay and you're happy and satisfied; no, you have to be perpetually miserable, stressed, useless, and starving at any cost. Even when you're buying brand new cars every five years. 😳
But hey, those were HIS purchases. So they're OURS. Otherwise, they aren't really ours, right?
I'm just over it. I can't even wrap my head around agreeing to drive around in some ancient clunker—especially with a kid, and me still feeling insecure after giving birth—just so they can buy some random junk from whoever for a couple thousand bucks just to avoid a mortgage. What a bunch of idiots, give me strength...
None of this is my idiot husband's fault—it’s all on his entire damn clan. His old man basically sold him out just because he needed cash for that backwater town in the middle of nowhere (which constantly bleeds money dry, and for WHAT; damn the day he ever moved away from there). So, honestly? This plan works for me; I'll give Mom whatever she wants, and you can take your whole pathetic pack and shove it.
But my "brilliant" husband? The second he hears the word "credit," he loses his mind... look, our mortgage has maybe nine years left; yeah, okay, it’s not nothing—but most of our friends still have THIRTY years on theirs, so for God's sake, use some logic!!! But no... he doesn't think. He just sits there listening to whatever his genius father tells him. About everything. 😵
Kaktusić, I totally feel you. 😢
The whole car situation here is a mess... well, mostly because we don't even have one. I’m lagging way behind everyone else—still grinding just to pass my driver's test—but I seriously need to get it over with ASAP. And then what? Once I actually have my license, I’ve got nothing to drive. My husband has this massive work van, and honestly, he's making a mistake. I am NOT driving a damn van!!!
So, my mom offered to take out a loan—we'd just pay her back monthly—so we could grab a small, decent little car. But nope. Mr. "I don't want any debt" says no. Well, guess what? I don't want you buying some absolute junker from 28 years ago for $1000 and no, I am NOT putting my kid in that death trap, period!!!
As long as his parents—Always Right—bought themselves a shiny new ride for over $20,000, they're happy. That car is five years old and was already too old for the Queen Mother. Did anyone bother to ask us what we actually needed? Not a chance. 🙂

And the government isn't paying for it—WE are!!!
Me and my wife are still paying off our little house in rural Ohio for another 12 years.
My brother-in-law had bigger ambitions and grabbed a place out in the sticks of Montana. He’s got 27 years left on his mortgage. Don't even get me started on interest rates. Honestly, he should have just started a soccer team; voilà—an Easter bonus larger than some people's monthly salary, a free house from the state. They didn't mention child allowances here, but I’d bet anything plenty of people earn way less per month than what these folks are pulling...
It's easy to be unemployed and live off number 11!

Signing off, from A to Z.
Ž. i The mama only finished middle school...🤦 Great; maybe we can expect this oldest one—she's already 16, after all—to jump into production soon!
Roger Lopez35 said:I can’t stand it when people ask if the baby has "come back to life." It’s such an incredibly mindless thing to say, honestly. I suppose that’s just the kind of nonsense you tend to hear from the older generation...

Same here. Though for me, it was just one person—my clueless mother-in-law. Thankfully, everyone else around me actually seems to have a functioning brain and some basic decency, regardless of how old they are.
Honestly, I’m having one of those days where everything just feels like too much—everything’s getting on my nerves—but then I read this article this morning and my blood pressure just spiked.

Look, props to the kids, I get it, but seriously... 😲...great, let’s just rush out and produce more of them immediately so the government can foot the bill for them too, right? 🙄 🤦
Unknown:
Dennis Johnson3 (No content provided to rewrite.)
For example, mine. I don't even know where to start with this one. Just... wow. Everything? Really? Is that all we're doing now—just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks? It’s getting exhausting, honestly. Does anyone actually believe this works, or are we all just pretending? Total mess. So she actually had the nerve to make some nasty comment about how fat I am? Seriously?
So then I read her the fine print right in front of a massive crowd—she just froze. Didn't have a single thing to say. She just kept stammering, "Well, I think it's nice." Seriously?.
Look, have a nice life or whatever—just keep your mouth shut. Don't come at me with those fake "compliments," especially since I don't want to hear them. Period. And just like that, everyone goes dead silent. Not a single comment. 😁
Just another bunch of liars—kind of like my own folks. Does yours carry at least 60 pounds of extra baggage too, by the way? 🤣
Back to the topic—those strollers pissed me off again today. I thought I’d finally made up my mind, too. I was sure. But then I spotted another Unknown that actually looked... maybe? 🙄 Honestly, if someone would just grab me a damn dolly and drop it off, we’d be done—problem solved, case closed. That’s all I need. Instead, I’m just sitting here getting worked up over nothing. Why do I even bother?
Husband. Yesterday. I mention that I’m picking up a crib next weekend and have zero clue what the mattress situation looks like—heard something about some weird allergy thing, maybe looking for a hypoallergenic one...
And he’s all like, "Why are you panicking? Why are you freaking out over nothing?" Apparently, the kid isn't even born yet and I'm already sewing allergies onto him ( 🙄 ). Don't turn the baby into an invalid, blah blah blah...
😠
Look, I’m not panicking, and I’m not freaking out. I just said I want to SEE what’s actually out there because I DON'T KNOW—and yeah, I figure hypoallergenic mattresses are probably better quality. It's not like I'm trying to raise the kid under a literal glass dome, but honestly? He might be better off staying with his messy, disorganized mother who hasn't seen an iron in her entire life. Let her put him to sleep in a recliner, for God's sake. Or maybe just on some kitchen towels. Unwashed, obviously—you know, to build up that immune system. :asshole:
Jesse Evans85 said:Exactly. Just a few days before my due date, I've had everyone under the sun debating whether I'm feeling okay or when I'll be doing what... I'm already overwhelmed enough as it is, and I really don't need all that added pressure.
Plus, I truly don't see why anyone needs to be the first to know that something is happening... those who need to know will find out, and everyone else can wait until the time is right.

Haha, that bit about the mother-in-law is spot on. Mine asks me: "So, what is Jesse Evans85 up to?" (as if I have any clue... what is he doing? I don't know, he's still in my womb!).

🤦
Listen, what she's DOING is studying quantum physics, damn it... 🙄
It's getting to me—my patience is hitting zero lately, even for people and situations that aren't even being jerks. For example, the other day with my aunt (who I actually love, usually)—we're standing outside a Pre-natal clinic, staring at some Bugaboo strollers in the window. Overpriced as hell. My aunt is planning to foot the bill for the stroller—and she's a total Virgin in every single astrological sense, a firm believer in that "you get what you pay for" logic. So, the conversation goes something like this...
Aunt: Oh my god, look at that beige one, it is just DIVINE, look.
Me: They're nice, sure, but first off they're way too expensive, and second, that light beige doesn't look very practical to me.
Aunt: But they are gorgeous, let's take a closer look.
Me: Yeah, they really are pretty, but that's almost $2000.
Aunt: Well, all the prices are about the same. And look how beautiful they are.
Me: Sure, but you can get a 3-in-1 combo elsewhere for that kind of money, and here you're just paying for the basket.
Aunt: Well then, just buy the rest later. They're just lovely, look.
Me: (...money is practically flying out of my ears...) Look, they're lovely, but for God's sake, with all the extras that'll probably hit fifteen hundred bucks, what are you thinking?
Aunt: But look at those big, practical wheels.
Me: (...looking around to see if there's a subway train I could jump under...) Other brands have big wheels too and they don't cost a fortune.
Aunt: But it's gotta be a good brand if it's this pricey... and they are JUST STUNNING, so come on, let's check them out.

............not gonna bore you with the rest, it went on for a solid ten minutes... I was losing my mind. No, we didn't buy them, obviously. We won't.
Saturday, we’re rolling into the middle of nowhere. His people are already there. Hugs, kisses, the usual drill. A massive crowd of relatives.
Mother-in-law (all sweet and bubbly): Look at my big girl!
Btw, I bet you can guess—I have to point out that we’re talking about a woman who is endlessly neglected, aggressively masculine, and—obviously—overweight.
😠
Funny thing is, I caught her off guard. I turned right to her face and said:
- I'm not fat, I'm pregnant. And please, I don't want to hear that ever again.
- ... (she looked mortified, obviously) Oh, well, that's just how people say it... I only say it because I love you.
- It's not how people say it. First, it's rude, and second, it isn't true. So much for "love"—none of the people who actually care about me calls me that, so don't you ever try it again. (I was thinking this to myself, but I kept it polite, even if it killed me...🙄)
Dead silence. 🤣
Spent the rest of the weekend strictly limiting my interaction with her to the bare essentials (read: five sentences total).
