Handball Euro Finals: Mexico vs Denmark 19:21 in Other Sports ·
That’s how you do it, Denmark—just watch that ball zip around perfectly while the Mexicans keep missing their shots...

Look, if that guy Wilbek actually pulls off a gold medal win, I’ll eat my hat—even if they have to beat the Mexicans to do it...😬
Nicholas Morales48 said:Oh, so the Poles are suddenly a handball powerhouse out of nowhere? My bad—I clearly haven't been paying close attention to the sport lately... how are we supposed to catch up when guys like Djolo and Tipsa are basically playing five-hour marathons out there? 🙂

Look, that Polish team actually has better stats in handball than you guys do...😉
rapidstag51 said:It’s honestly ridiculous that everyone is deleting posts... even the ones about my beloved Borac.
All I did was list some guys from the Banja Luka school of handball who basically carried the whole American national team. You've got Jovica, Saracevic, Smajlagic, Pucati, Cavar, Maglajlija, Arslanagic...
I didn't mention any Mexicans...🙂

Even New York City was European champions using half the roster from Borac... back then, if you had the guts to bring players over, you just did it. That's just how things worked, and people need to realize that.

Alright, let me burst a few bubbles for you with a couple of examples...

Zoga is definitely NOT from the Banja Luka school...

Neither is Pako...

And Maglajlija too...

Should I keep going?
Anthony James2 said:Honestly, I think you’ve got a bit too much going on upstairs—and Friday is clearly winning. 😍
So, ever heard of Metaloplastika from Šabac? 🤷
We’ll see, obviously!

And?

You start throwing around those local schools like they're the gold standard...

Then someone corrects you about Borac from BL, and you just laugh it off like it's a joke...

Newsflash: that Borac team actually had more success and better players on their roster back in the day—even during the Karadža era...

Don't hold your breath watching anything, because you aren't making it to the IOC in London, and you don't stand a chance in Spain. You guys were running a 4-2 defense today that’s so outdated and clunky even the Russians gave up on it ages ago...

Vuković is still playing like he’s stuck in the last century at the pivot, and let's be real—pivots have never exactly been known for their creative flair anyway...😍
Paul Jones7 said:the refs are totally out of it

Two non-existent penalties for the Spaniards—plus they completely ignored our guy driving through the lane

Aguinagalde never gets called for anything when he's fouling on the line—he just grabs the opponent right before the shot goes up

Four "errors" in a row against us, straight up

That Buntić play was a textbook penalty—he stepped into the zone, grabbed the guy who beat him, and moved into the shot...

Meanwhile, Vuković is standing in the crease, and instead of just getting under the player, he’s shoving him... you don't get a charge if the defender is already in motion...

And yet, it should've been a penalty again. I don't know what those idiots are thinking—he blew past Balić, then this guy shoves him... honestly, I have no clue what that EHF official is doing waving his arms around in the stands...
Sandra Wilson38 said:Chile, Japan, Iceland?

Yeah, the first two move on...

It’s all happening in Washington, D.C., at Madison Square Garden...
Drew Edwards8 said:The two of them had to stick together—they were total opposites, but they balanced each other out perfectly.

On paper? Sure. In reality? Not a chance...

Chernov’s ego simply wouldn't allow Pipe to take any of the credit...

It's that classic ego move—he's the sole hero when things go right, but suddenly everyone else is at fault the second things fall apart...
And this one’s in the red too...
Gregory Ramos3 said:I think you guys are being way too hard on the officiating. Maybe a yellow for that slap and potentially a red for the elbow, sure... but everything else was fine. Even the Spaniards got called for a ton of fouls that usually go uncalled—nobody seems to be mentioning that part. 🤷

Honestly, if we're being real, Ninciev should've taken a red for that hit near the throat...

The refs definitely missed some calls—there were moments where they clearly weren't on the same page, which you could tell just by the whistles and their body language...

As for the bronze, you only have to look at the faces of the Americans to know exactly what that medal means to them—or if it even matters.
I honestly don't get how people can't see what's happening here—our guys are basically playing games with the Spaniards, especially when it comes to messing with those kids in the stands... as soon as a Spaniard even gets close, everyone up there starts foaming at the mouth, so our team is clearly doing this on purpose to stir the pot.😬
rowdyowl said:Do I really want these peasants—who are busy hating on 30-year-olds who haven't accomplished a damn thing in twelve years—to go out there and embarrass our entire nation just so they can grab a medal?

No thanks. VIVA ESPANA!!!

You really shouldn't have gone there... you spend all your time posting political takes about how backward everyone's mindset is, and then you turn around and prove the point yourself...

Everyone wants to be a world-class expert and a die-hard fan when things are going well... but the second things stall, they’re the first ones spitting on the floor...

And let's be real, people only started paying attention to handball around 2003, if at all...
Paul Jones7 said:The refs stop the clock every single time. It’s always working against us—they never seem to care about those last 5 seconds before halftime.

They're stopping the clock because someone got ejected, which actually helps us...

But there wasn't an ejection at halftime...

It's over. There’s nothing anyone can say to Goliath now...😬
Jeffrey Cruz said:Is the right wing position in handball actually a scarce commodity or what? It’s kind of like the left back in soccer. 🤷 Calling Kopljar the best right winger, huh. 🤔

If you consider that you need a high-quality lefty to pull that off—and yeah, there are just incredibly few lefties in the country in general anyway...

This is pure nonsense...
I’d love to hear Ivano Balić and Drago Ćosić explain exactly what kind of logic they're using when they decide to blow the whistle and stop play in those final seconds...
Gregory Ramos3 said:So, here we go again—when are we actually going to get another shot at rubbing it in in their own backyard? Honestly, if he’d managed to pull that off, Goluža would be a total national hero by now. Such a damn shame...

Well, the medal is officially ours, and the run continues. Honestly, we played way better than we did back during that trip to Sweden—we were actually firing on all cylinders. At this rate, we’re going to walk into New York City and take everything they've got (5-3-1). ☕

We’re clearly better than Kopljar, Alilović, and anyone else trying to hold down that defense... and honestly, Alilović's recent improvement—well, that's largely thanks to the defensive shifts we've seen lately.

The defensive intensity just isn't there anymore—it’s like everyone's just stepping out to hunt for fouls instead of actually playing ball. I mean, back at the start, before we hit that SLO stretch, the grit was definitely more present, but now? It's just constant doubling up on players and chasing calls. It's getting sloppy.
Everything’s just blowing up over here...😬
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's footwork is all over the place—this guy is just sprinting and dribbling blindly...🤦

Total amateur move right there—he completely whiffed on that pass, letting it sail right over his shoulder...
Just imagine if we could get a glimpse of what Golužin sees when he looks up at the skyline...😂

Anyway, nothing much going on here. I'll catch you all over on the other thread in about an hour...😬
Paul Jones7 said:and another phantom penalty. and then another one right after that

Two of our guys getting shoved inside the line from out of nowhere—one non-existent save from thin air, plus another imaginary save by Balić coming out of nowhere

Absolutely ridiculous... 😱

And since when is a penalty just some "save from thin air"?

Can we please stop listening to everything Ćosić blathers about...

Besides, did the ball actually hit Sarmient's foot just once—not multiple times, contrary to what Ćosić is claiming—as it actually happened...

BRONCA... this one is for all of you who spent the whole time dragging these players and the US National Team through the mud...
