Save all those changes in the control panel, log out, and you're golden.
I mean, I have no clue how you'd even get back in once you've locked yourself out since you won't know the password, and you can't exactly send a "reset" link to an email you don't recognize.🤷
Hey, thanks for the tip. I think I'll go ahead and do that.
Hey there, I’m not sure if this is even allowed, but I wanted to ask if a moderator could just... permanently ban me? Honestly, I've become a total nuisance to myself. This forum has basically just turned into my playground for messing around, and I rarely ever post anything actually meaningful. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't eating up so much of my free time, you know? So, if it's possible, I’d really appreciate it if you guys could just delete my account for good. I’ll probably still pop in once in a while just to lurk and read some threads, but it'll be way easier to stay focused when I don't have an account to distract me. For all those reasons, I’d really love it if you could grant me this request.

Animals are living beings that deserve to have their own peace and their own lives.
Well said! 👍
I know plenty of idiots who are terrified of snakes and start panicking every time they see one, screaming that every single snake needs to be wiped out.
Hands down, the best post in this whole thread. These self-proclaimed "animal lovers" and activists are mostly just obsessed with dogs and cats, especially since everything else smells bad. Like, when I mentioned how gross it is seeing some woman obsessively petting a dog, it’s purely because from a hygiene standpoint, it’s nasty. And half the time, these people are carrying their dogs around in designer handbags 🤦 just so they can show them off like they're little kids or something. Most animal lovers are really just cat and dog people acting out of pure selfishness—they’re looking for a substitute for actual human connection, while the animals just see them as a walking vending machine for food, and they use it to pretend they're "humane."
I don't even know what my deal is, honestly... I'm just not an animal person, even if I think having a kid is the best thing ever (not in some weird way, obviously). My favorite thing to see is when some high-maintenance girl walks into a Starbucks, looking totally flawless, hair perfect, outfit on point, and then she just starts slobbering all over her dog 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮. Seriously, I can't even look. That whole scene just leaves me scarred. If I lived out in rural Montana or something, sure, I’d get a dog or a cat because they kind of feel like part of the scenery out there, but living in an apartment? No way in hell. And this idea that if you don't like animals, you must hate people? That’s just plain stupid. I’ve seen plenty of examples in my own life that prove otherwise, and there’s even stuff from history—like that famous vegetarian guy back in the 1940s over in Europe who loved his dog more than any actual human being 😉.
It’s been forever since I actually did any kind of workout. Every single time I gear up to start, I tell myself I’ll just take it easy for the first few weeks—you know, just some basic push-ups, squats, sit-ups, and maybe a light jog before I try to really ramp things up. Everything starts off fine, but then there's this recurring issue. Even when I make sure to warm up and get my body temp up, after just a couple of days, my joints—like my wrists—start hurting way more than the actual effort of the push-ups themselves. It always throws me for a loop and kills my momentum. What am I doing wrong here? Am I not warming up enough, or is this something about my diet? Maybe I need to grab some supplements? At first, I figured it was just because I was carrying too much weight, but I’ve already dropped from about 235 down to 205. I might still be a little heavy at 6'0", but nothing crazy enough to be wrecking my joints like this. I mean, I can handle the push-ups, but eventually, I really need to focus on some upper body strength training. My goal isn't even about bulking up or getting huge; it’s just that whole "healthy body, healthy mind" vibe. I just want to work out and keep things balanced.
I honestly don't get the point of this thread. What's the goal here? Are you trying to force your views on everyone or something? Since when is it illegal to protest a singer who's basically mocking a majority religion? It’s not even like she has some vendetta against Christians—it's just that she’s turned into a total caricature of herself. She can't grab headlines with her actual music anymore, so she resorts to these cheap provocations to stay relevant. Honestly, the state of Poland, the Polish people, and us... we really have nothing to do with this drama. Just think about a hypothetical scenario... say you let anyone sing at the Colosseum, but then you specifically ban someone like Thompson. It's the exact same logic. If that kind of thing could happen here, why wouldn't it happen over there?
I highly doubt anyone would actually bother organizing protests against her. I mean, who’s actually going to waste their time getting worked up because some half-naked lady is jumping around on a stage? People have way better things to do with their lives.
LOL, I knew a few kids back in the day who felt the exact same way at 18—thinking they were totally ready to go solo. That whole "rebel teen" phase is such a classic move (and yeah, let’s be real, at 18 you're still basically a kid, just like I was back then). Until you're actually ready to foot the bill for your own life, you're gonna have to deal with all the crap your "old school" parents throw your way. They're the ones keeping you afloat, so they're the ones making the rules. Thank God the world hasn't gone so completely sideways yet that kids being supported by their families get to dictate terms to the people paying the bills. Take that as your wake-up call: go find a job, you and your girlfriend, and move into your own place together. That’s when the real struggles start. If you can actually make it through that, then you guys are meant to be.
edit: Just realized you aren't even 18 yet, but honestly, it's the same story. My advice stays the same: you and your girl need to find some work, grab an apartment, and start living on your own.
dustysailor28 said:Hahahahhaa. Someone clearly had their sense of humor surgically removed. 😛 I'm 26, though I really don't see how that's even remotely relevant. 🤷 So, according to you, anyone without a job isn't allowed to hang out on the forum? Does that mean the entire "Jobs" section—especially the thread for unemployed people—should just be deleted because, heaven forbid, some people are lurking on a forum instead of actively hunting for work 0/24 (they probably are looking in the morning, but by the evening when everyone else is off the clock, there’s nothing left to find, but oh, look, Mr. Genius has arrived to lecture us—and if they're applying online, there are tabs specifically designed to handle multiple things at once, yet this person still felt the need to drop by...)??!!
Suicide isn't a topic for this board, so stop commenting on it. You clearly haven't understood anything. 😛
sorry, but you can't just get a formal job unless you freeze your status or something worse happens. 🙄
It is truly fascinating how you all manage to comment on absolutely everything except what I actually asked: how to approach a rural area. Since everyone's concentration levels here are apparently nonexistent, does nobody actually have any experience? Clearly not; you're all just fakers. ☕
Yeah, let's talk about this. What are you actually looking for from your dad? Is he supposed to pay rent for you and your partner, or some other kind of financial help (since you mentioned that's the biggest issue)? Is he doing so well for himself that he can afford to just throw money away like that? Or are you trying to soften his stance on your partner staying at his place? If he's dead set against it, no amount of talking or taking a specific side is going to help much, and you'll just end up right back where you started.
dustysailor28 said:The second someone drops a popcorn emoji, I know exactly what’s happening—they think they’re watching some big cinematic drama unfold, when really, they’re just being obnoxious. In this case, it's pretty obvious you're just here for the entertainment value, so honestly? I’m going to skip your entire post. Go ahead and take that "main character" energy somewhere else—maybe find another thread to stir the pot in. By the way, I liked your old avatar better.
I’m telling you, I’ll head over to the apartment eventually—but definitely not tomorrow. If I show up even a second earlier than expected, he’s going to absolutely lose his mind because he'll think I actually moved back in. forever Home. You feel me? 🙂
My girlfriend actually has a job, but since she isn't getting a steady paycheck right now, we’re basically fighting a constant uphill battle just to stay afloat. As for me, I pick up various freelance gigs or side hustles whenever they pop up—you know, those little jobs that come along every now and then. The problem is, there are almost zero student employment opportunities out there that offer anything more than a quick month of work. I’m always hunting for something more substantial—something that might last six months or so—because if her paychecks were actually hitting our bank account on schedule, we wouldn't be in this mess. Do you see why we're so screwed? Honestly, the system is just rigged against us from every single angle. 😢 And then you've got those frail old folks.
Look, I am not some dependent living off my parents. Every single month, I manage to land at least three different gigs, and they actually have the nerve to ask me to pay them back for whatever little things I spend—which, honestly, would be the absolute peak of jerk behavior on their part. I barely eat more than one small meal a day, so I’m certainly not running up a massive grocery bill. I don't ask them for a dime, they don't give me any money, and they don't buy me anything. If they really expected me to chip in for these tiny little household expenses, then I’d expect my sister to be doing the exact same thing, considering she’s the one still actually living in that house.
So, is there actually a way—some kind of strategy or logical comeback—to use when he starts bashing the whole idea of independence again? I need something solid so that when he inevitably starts clutching his pearls and accusing me of "just philosophizing" or talking like some uneducated rube, I actually have a point.
Are you planning on moving out of town? You mentioned working student jobs, so I assume you're in college. A couple can survive on one income, provided that income isn't just what a cashier at Walmart makes. Does what you're studying actually have a future (you know, like, is it a high-demand field)? Maybe you and your partner could scrape by together using her salary and your side hustles if life is really that much of a nightmare right now. It would basically be survival mode, but until you get on your feet, you should probably just tough it out—I'm guessing it'll be worth it in the end. Her inconsistent pay sounds like a mess, though... does she have any chance of finding another job (I know the economy is rough)?
edit: Yeah, the guy who posted a few posts above me might have been a bit blunt, but he hit the nail on the head. If you're truly ready to pay the price for living independently—and trust me, it won't be easy—then it's time for you and your partner to grit your teeth and just go for it. Someone who actually wants something won't let anyone stand in their way, but the real question is: do you actually want this? Neither the government nor anyone else is going to look out for you except yourself.
When I used the word honest, I wasn't talking about some cynical asshole who just wanders around shoving their opinions down everyone's throat when nobody asked. That’s not it. I was talking about friends, you know? Not some random stranger I'm meeting for the first time. If there's one thing life has taught me, it's that still waters run deep, so I'm always a little skeptical of people who seem way too perfect. Too often, those folks acting like the life of the party or playing the "good guy" are just putting on a massive show, while behind closed doors they turn out to be totally shady and manipulative. I said I value honesty because, with my actual friends, I at least know where I stand. Like, what do I even care if some random person is being "honest" with me?
Eric Gray2 said:You could look at this as constructive criticism or just straight-up an insult. Saying "you're lazy" is an insult—plain and simple. But saying "I think you could achieve way more if you really put in the effort" is constructive feedback. It’s essentially the same core message, just a massive difference in how you deliver it. Honestly, why would anyone prefer being insulted over being given actual guidance?
Personally? To me, it’s all just bullshit. Total crap. Doesn't matter if it's raw or wrapped up in fancy cellophane like some high-end gift from Tiffany's. I actually dig it when people just say it like it is without dancing around the point. At the end of the day, those two statements have the same damn meaning; one's just packaged a little prettier. The message stays the same, at least that's how I see it.
Eric Gray2 said:Look, I think people genuinely do want the truth, it’s just that the way you package that truth matters more than they care to admit.🙂
Personally, I just can't stand all that "presentation" stuff, you know? All the acting and the sugar-coating. It's exhausting. I've got my fair share of flaws, and honestly, if someone calls me out on them—like, if they tell me straight up, "Hey, you're being lazy"—I actually prefer that. I'd much rather have someone just give it to me straight instead of dancing around it or trying to make excuses for my bad habits. Just say it to my face, plain and simple.
Eric Gray2 said:Honesty is a virtue. In a broad, general sense, at least. When you're dealing with honest people, you know exactly where you stand—there’s no deception or sugarcoating involved. At least, that’s how most people see it.
But...
Personally, I’ve always felt that you don't necessarily need to say everything that comes to mind directly to everyone's face. There is a time and a place for things, and there's a way to handle them. There is also the option of just staying silent if being "honest" isn't actually going to accomplish anything positive—especially if nobody even asked for our opinion in the first place. I truly value it when people are upfront with me; I really do. But beating a dead horse or pointing out the obvious isn't being honest—in my book, it's just being tactless.
Man, I am totally with you on this. I could never bring myself to trash talk someone in front of a crowd just to look like some big shot. If I've got something to say to someone, it’s a one-on-one thing. And yeah, like you said, you shouldn't go sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. It weirds me out how people claim they want the truth, but then they get all offended the second you actually give it to them.
So, look, everyone loves to preach about how honesty is this ultimate virtue... until someone actually pulls you aside and tells you straight up that you messed up. It’s easy to talk the talk when things are smooth, right? But personally, I have massive respect for friends who can just tell me when I’ve screwed up. When someone gives it to me straight, my respect for them just shoots up instantly. To me, that’s the real sign of a close bond. Then you’ve got those other types, though—people who’d much rather sugarcoat everything and wrap their words in velvet just to keep things "pleasant." It makes me wonder... have we all just become total emotional snowflakes? Like, if someone is just being blunt with you—not even trying to trash you in front of a crowd, just being real—do you immediately lose respect for them? For example, I honestly find myself respecting Donald Trump’s style way more because he’ll tell you exactly what’s on his mind. Compare that to Barack Obama, who acts all delicate and polished, saying everything so perfectly while who knows what he's actually thinking behind that calm exterior. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Donald Trump is some saint or a perfect guy, but when it comes to raw honesty, I’ll take that unrefined, blunt approach over a polished, high-society act any day of the week. What's your take on this? Which camp do you fall into? (And seriously, be honest)
Carl Cox3 said:I believe we all live by the mantra, why start today when tomorrow is always an option? I am no exception. For two and a half years, I have planned to brush up on my Spanish so I don't lose what I learned in high school, yet I have never even opened a textbook. Everything is forgotten. To make matters worse, I remind myself of this almost every single day. I spend hours at my computer doing useless things like browsing this forum, when in that same time, I could have become fluent. It is pure laziness and procrastination. Now, I am going to ☕
Man, you know how that Nike motto goes? JUST DO IT. That's where I fail. I love to sit around philosophizing and overanalyzing everything instead of actually getting things done. Most of my "plans" just end up being me saying I'll start next week, only to quit by Tuesday. Like someone else said once, maybe I just need to join a gym. If I actually drop the cash on a membership, it might force me to show up. I tried starting once before, but then I ran out of money and just gave up on the second month 🙂.
Chloe Gray86 said:Well, with a statement like that, you might just become the first person from California I actually find relatable.😍
Laziness seems to be baked into our DNA. How much of it actually shows up depends on several factors—upbringing, the environment you grow up in, temperament, I suppose.
I suffer from the exact opposite issue. Whenever I try to sleep or just lounge around, I get this nagging sense of guilt, like I’m wasting precious time. It’s a problem either way, let’s be clear.
Perhaps you need a catalyst of some kind. If you already recognize this is part of your nature, maybe try surrounding yourself with people who will actually push you to do something.
😁 I wasn't being dead serious there, just going along with what you said about everyone having some level of laziness regardless of where they live in the States. Some people have more, some have less. For instance, I know a bunch of guys hitting the books at hard schools like Berkeley 🙂 who somehow maintain insane GPAs while also staying ripped—like, bodybuilders would be jealous. Obviously, there are plenty of exceptions to that rule too. And yeah, maybe I really do need someone to give me a kick in the pants... When I'm working a gig through a temp agency or even grinding through classes, I don't slack off; I take it seriously. But discipline when it comes to working out or actually getting out of bed early? Man, not even Bob would be able to motivate me.
I guess it’s just that whole San Diego mindset of mine... you know, just standing on the sidelines and whining about how much everything sucks, without actually wanting to lift a finger to change it.
Kyle Harris7 said:The trick to life is mapping out a plan and finally accepting that time is a one-way street. It’s moving in one direction, and it's entirely up to us to make the most of the ride before it's over. Years ago—and man, do I sound old saying that—I set a rough blueprint for my life, deciding what to do and when to do it. I'm still following that same structure today. You have to realize that certain things, like high-stakes extreme sports where you're basically flirting with death, just don't work once you're a father or even in a serious relationship. If you push it too far, someone else pays the price for your addiction to the rush. It's the same with everything else; when you're single, you can do whatever you want, whenever you want. But eventually, responsibilities catch up to you. So, enjoy the freedom while it lasts. If you need motivation, look no further than this: the fear of waking up in your 40s—dealing with a gut, back pain, a spouse, and a mountain of bills—and sobbing, "Where did my youth go?" It's right there in front of you right now. Use it. If you manage your time correctly, you'll find there's room for everything.
The thing is, I am sooo incredibly lazy. Like, someone seriously needs to whip me into shape just to get me moving. But then again, I handle everything at college right on schedule, so I guess I’m not a total slacker. I just feel unlucky because I’ve fallen into this endless loop of college, books, TV, computer, sleep... 🙂 I’m 21, but I’ve always been pretty passive, just sitting around wondering why I didn't do this or why I didn't do that. If I don't get moving right now and actually live a little while I'm young, then when am I gonna do it??? I definitely won't be doing it when I'm married and being responsible for more than just myself, like a wife and a kid.
Man, I’ve told myself a thousand times already that I’m finally gonna get my act together—I even started a similar thread on here before—but I just can't seem to pull the trigger 🙂. Like, what is it about people that makes them so incredibly passive? At least, what's going on with me? Is it just straight-up laziness, or am I just terrified of actually trying something?? What gives? 😠 I’m constantly making these big plans, like "Okay, I’m definitely hitting the gym more" or whatever, but then I immediately start hunting for excuses to push it off. Honestly, someone probably needs to drag me out the door by my hair just to get me moving. When I think about getting older, I just get this heavy feeling that I'm gonna look back and regret everything I didn't do... kind of like how I'm sitting in college right now, kicking myself over stuff I missed out on back in middle school or high school. Am I the only one stuck in this loop, or am I just totally screwed? 😕
I’ve been sitting here typing this out for ages, just really chewing on it. Honestly, saying we're 90% Catholic? Yeah, no. Even us atheists don't buy that for a second. For most people, it’s more about tradition or just some way to push back against the old system and all that religious oppression from back in the day... It’s kind of like claiming we’re the biggest nationalists on the planet just because we brag about it constantly—meanwhile, those exact same people would step over a thousand families or pocket billions if it meant looking out for themselves. There’s this massive irony where the folks at the top of the Church (and I can’t name names, even though I know plenty of priests who fit the bill) preach one thing while living a completely different life. And look, once you start talking about the Communist Party of the USA, it’s the same old story. They preach equality and all that, but the guys running the show wouldn't hesitate to order millions to be killed just to protect their own seats or whatever else they want. So much for "equality," right? At the end of the day, I think some people see believers through a totally different lens than I do. To me, it isn't about the fancy words people say; it's about whether you actually live by them.
