I was watching some highlights from a youth tournament last weekend, and it got me thinking about how obsessed the football world has become with these teenage prodigies. Every single week, there's a new "next big thing" that supposedly has the world at their feet, and suddenly, clubs are throwing massive sums of money at players who haven't even lived a full adult life yet.
It feels like a massive gamble that's becoming the industry standard. We see these massive transfers for eighteen-year-olds, and half the time they end up sitting on a bench or getting loaned out to a mid-table side in a different country because they just couldn't handle the pressure of a top-tier squad. It’s easy to scout talent when they’re playing against kids their own age, but the jump to the elite level is a different beast entirely.
Don't get me wrong, some of them do turn into legends, but the sheer volume of money being moved around for "potential" alone seems insane to me. Is it actually smart business, or are these massive clubs just playing a high-stakes game of musical chairs with teenagers?
Do you think it's better to buy the finished product, or is the risk of chasing the next superstar actually the only way to stay competitive?

Otherwise, even for a Phenom or a more powerful HD6870, the xfx450W is plenty, and it costs $120 which I personally consider a best buy for those types of builds.
I don't know much about the xfx450. There is a difference $50 compared to the Seasonic 520 GB, and I am a bit worried about it starting to rattle after a few months of use or overheating, blah, blah—basically, I feel more secure going with the Seasonic.
What is the actual difference between these power supplies, aside from the price tag and my own assumption that modular units cost more? Is one quieter, more powerful, or just built better? I need a recommendation for a build running a Phenom X4 paired with either a Sapphire 6850 or a Sapphire 6770.
Seasonic power supply, SS-520GB, 520 W, 120mm vent., active PFC from $169
Seasonic power supply, SS-520GM, 520 W, 120mm vent., active PFC from $193
So, I am looking to buy my very first dedicated graphics card. Up until now, I have just been relying on the integrated graphics on my motherboard, but I am feeling a bit lost regarding which option to pick. I am also curious about why the price fluctuates so much even when the model seems identical. My plan is to play some Need for Speed and similar racing simulators every now and then. For context, I am running a Phenom x4 3.1 and my power supply is a Seasonic 520
Those golden days are long gone, when you could just pull two wires from a plug and short out a circuit, haha. Nowadays, we’re expected to pay our taxes and buy a Seasonic or something similar just to connect what they claim are three wires, even though there are still only two, haha. They say the power supply provides 12V and 5V, so maybe I'll just hook it up to a bicycle dynamo and pay someone to pedal for me, eh.
ASRock 890 Sempron X4 955 HD Seagate 500 GB Sapphire HD 6850
I am looking for a new power supply. Since brands like Seasonic, Corsair, XFX, and Xilence are available, I would prefer to select a higher-quality unit. PLEASE provide your recommendations.
I have been considering a Seasonic unit, specifically the SS-620GB, which offers 620 W and a 120mm fan, possibly with active PFC, or perhaps something else entirely.
I have decided on the Seasonic 520W; I simply need to sit down and finalize the purchase. I am somewhat unclear, however, regarding the meaning of PFC and what "modular" entails.

I actually managed to find a great deal at AMD on this $6.75ATI Radeon HD 6850, which features 1GB GDDR5 256bit, dual link DVI + HDMI + DP, PCI Express 2.0 16x, CrossFire, a 775 MHz core, a 4000MHz memory frequency, and DirectX 11 support, all for just $175.
Alexander Williams77 said:That card is perfectly fine, but if you can stretch your budget just a little bit, you should look into one of these options:
XFX ATI Radeon HD 6850 775M 1GB DDR5, dual link DisplayPort x2 v1.2, DVI x2, HDMI 1.4a featuring the Eyefinity option $383 GAINWARD GTX460 768MB GDDR5 192bit, PCI-X 2.0 x16, Core : 648MHz $373 MSI GTX 550 1GB GDDR5 192bit, N550GTX-Ti Cyclone II 1GD5/OC $377

Do you think those would be an improvement over the Shapira 6790?
I am currently eyeing the Radeon HD 6790, specifically the version featuring 1GB GDDR5, 840MHz/1050MHz, PCI-E 2.1 x16, HDMI, 2xDVI, DisplayPort, dual slot fan Cooler, and the Retail packaging.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a great value purchase? I don't intend to use the graphics card heavily for gaming, though I occasionally find myself unable to resist trying out a new release when it comes out. (I plan to budget approximately $333 for the GPU).
I don't typically browse these forums, but I am glad I stumbled upon this thread. I have an Apple iPad Pro, and based on the photos here, I dealt with the exact same issue about a year ago. My screen actually had even larger blotches than what you are seeing. I took it to repair shops, brought it to a buddy who knows tech, and practically went door-to-door looking for help; everyone told me it was a lost cause, blah, blah, blah. Some people even tore it apart just to explain exactly where the failure was occurring... blah, blah, blah. Eventually, I gave up. I left it powered off for a few days, and after that, the blotches actually shifted position. That made me realize they weren't dead pixels, haha. Once I started using it again, the spots vanished entirely, though they did act up for a few days—popping up here and there like the screen was oily. I’ve concluded that this happens, at least in my case, because I cleaned the screen with some liquid and likely let a little moisture seep between the layers. As they say, patience pays off!
I would appreciate some suggestions for a configuration centered around an AMD Phenom II (quad Core) X4 955 running at 3.2GHz with 4 GB of RAM. I also intend to add a dedicated graphics card to this setup eventually, though I have yet to make a final decision on which model to select.
I also own the 17-inch HP 4720. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on the matter, and while some claim the bags are a bit small, they will certainly stretch out over time, so there is no need for concern. 🙂
Honestly, anyone who struggles in life could just copy and paste your story onto an online forum and call it a day. We’re all just drifting along, aren't we? You seem to think you're somehow unique, as if nobody else has faced hardship. Do you really believe things were easier for everyone else than they were for you? Not a chance. Plenty of people have dealt with situations ten times worse than yours, yet they didn't get to spend their lives being coddled by their parents like you admitted you did. It is time to pull yourself together. Find a meaningful goal in life and move toward it with steady steps; you cannot change the past, but the future is entirely within your control. Move forward bravely and be prepared for the obstacles that will inevitably arise. You are capable of this, and for now, your future remains wide open.
😕 I am considering purchasing a vehicle valued at approximately $50,000. $0.00I am having a bit of difficulty deciding which bank to choose, as I am truly uncertain which one offers the most favorable terms. Furthermore, I am currently torn between a four-year or a six-year term. I would greatly appreciate any advice you might be able to offer.😕
