Atheism vs. Spirituality: Zero Tolerance in Spirituality ·
Writing this as an agnostic who’s pretty fed up with a certain mindset I see popping up among some of our atheist and agnostic circles (specifically one group over on Meta) which basically claims we shouldn't show "any intellectual tolerance toward believers."

Personally, I find that whole vibe totally repellant. I get where they're coming from when they're tearing into hardline religious fundamentalists, but why does everything have to be viewed through such a negative lens? Why can't we admit that faith has actually inspired people to create, explore the world, produce timeless art, and even drive scientific breakthroughs?
I mean, look at Gregor Mendel—the guy was a humble priest and the literal father of modern genetics. He's just one in a long line of people we should probably feel embarrassed by, apparently, just because they dared to flirt with the idea of something beyond this world.

Honestly, the whole "militant atheism is the only way" thing? It gives me the creeps.

So I tried that and Microsoft Edge is finally gone.

The Microsoft Edge icon is still sitting on my desktop, but whenever I click it, it just redirects me straight to www.oursurfing.com.

I found these instructions for getting rid of oursurfing here:

http://www.techsupportall.com/how-to...-removal-help/
but when I check my extensions, oursurfing isn't even showing up in the list, so I can't just hit the trashcan icon to delete it.
Somehow I managed to grab Microsoft Edge and Firefox, then ditched Firefox, but for some reason, I can't get rid of Microsoft Edge at all. It keeps telling me I need to close the page in Microsoft Edge first 😵

I went ahead and installed Google Chrome and I'm trying to set it as my default, but it just won't stick.😠😠

The Audubon Society decided they're renaming some bird species because the old names had racist undertones.

I guess I'm getting a little worried about Sweden. Like, where are the Vikings when you actually need them?

Some politician from the Kingdom of Sweden is getting slammed for "hate speech" just because he shared some rape stats on Facebook.

After my tonsillectomy, I was staying at a hospital in Chicago. There were six other girls my age in the room with me—all of us just little kids, maybe 6 to 8 years old. Every morning, some older doctor would walk in to check our charts. Then he’d line us all up and tell us who earned a trip home and who wasn't going anywhere.

If one of us started crying, he’d just tell them they were staying in the hospital even longer. 😢

Look, everyone knows the USA was out there killing Native Americans and keeping Black people in slavery... but the second you mention how Russians did some shady business in the Caucasus, suddenly you're labeled a CIA plant or some pro-American hack.

It's all just relativism, I guess.

That little town had an illegal school running a foreign curriculum, and they just funneled kids through it... they've stated repeatedly that they don't recognize American law and won't until Sharia takes over.
People have been writing about this for ages, but there was never enough political will to fix it—some are still protesting against it even now.
So, you tell me why Americans in certain regions don't trust the federal government in D.C....

To me, this whole operation looks like nothing more than a show... like total window dressing. I mean, 600 people for one tiny village? Seems a bit much.

I don't follow LZB closely, but I have nothing against the show. It’s just a comedy where everyone gets roasted equally...

And for all of you acting surprised about the direction Muslims are heading—you're mistaken. You're talking like this is some new development. People, this has been happening since the early 90s; it's just that the news doesn't always reach your ears...

I don't watch every single episode, but it's actually a decent show.😁

The writer mentioned they poked fun at priests too, and nobody in America even blinked.

I mean, looking at this "select" group here—out of all the folks gathered around Rohm, who among them actually enjoys partying with the boys?😁

I guess these marginalac types are treated like top-tier intellectuals, judging by how the media reacts to all their garbage.
They dropped that series "Saša's Crew" about two years ago. From what I can tell, people actually dug it. I’m not counting Anastasia as part of the whole deal, though. It's just a total scam.😍

But yeah, everything just kind of stalled out there..
Jerry Adams71 said:Totally agree. Those movies might pull in a tiny handful of cinephiles, but everyone else would just be like, "What is this nonsense? This is boring, and it's in black and white..." Sadly, these days people with "refined" tastes just want to binge CSI or some other glorified music video.

It’s basically the classic chicken or the egg situation: 😁

Is it the public looking for trash, or did TV just train everyone to crave it?
Starting this thread because I am honestly so annoyed...
😁

There are actually some great people on YouTube who have uploaded huge collections of films and series from the old Soviet bloc. You've got legends like Tarkovsky, Parajanov, Sokurov, Bartas, and other "unsung heroes" from those remote places like Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan...😛

It just pisses me off that you’ll never see stuff like this on American TV. Like, do I need to send a formal complaint to someone to get this changed? Worst part is, most people probably wouldn't even find these movies interesting anyway, since there isn't any Wentworth Miller fighting for justice or Angelina Jolie saving the world...

Honestly, my favorite users are the ones who pop up out of nowhere just to drop a "bravo," "well said," or "👍🙏...
" under a post they love.

The absolute worst, though? Those people who claim they're all about tolerance and loving their neighbor... until they get the chance to show that "love" to a Mexican, a Jew, or whoever else happens to be on their bad side.
My heels are killing me in Health ·
So I’ve been dealing with this annoying little issue for a while now... my heels just get these super thick calluses 😛 or whatever...

I’ll go see a podiatrist, everything feels amazing for maybe three days, and then boom—back to square one. It isn't even an issue with my shoes; they don't pinch or anything. But honestly, if I'm lying in bed and press my feet against the sheets, I feel this sudden "burning" sensation in my heels, and by the next day, the skin is all hard and painful...

And if I spend too much time leaning on one leg or the other, it starts burning again, and the skin gets sore and cracks up 😢
I wasn't really rooting for Georgia during last year's summer war, but this feels like way too much... It's just a song, I guess...😁

What's next, a total ban on criticizing Vladimir Putin?

I get those same headaches if I sleep too much, too. I guess if I hit the sack around midnight or maybe 1 AM and get up by 7, I'll be fine.
