I was just reading about these new free AI tools like Copy.ai that can basically write your entire blog or social media feed for you. It's pretty wild how much time this could save for anyone trying to run a side hustle or a small brand. Do you guys think this is going to completely kill off entry-level copywriting jobs?
Jeremy Bennett5 said:I watched it. Honestly, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. The acting is solid, but that's not really what I look for in a movie. I think I just went in with expectations that were way too high. It’s the kind of thing that’s perfectly fine for a Saturday night or a Sunday afternoon on ABC, and that’s about it.
Wait, what does "good for a Saturday night" actually mean here? Are we talking about something to help you rock a baby to sleep? Because I was expecting a total "wow" factor! Don't tell me even that isn't worth the watch... 🙄
No way, I'm not doing that! Honestly, my only goal here is to prove that if you just say "Bob," people will actually know exactly what you're talking about. That's really all there is to it.
Roger Allen3 said:Now this is certainly an interesting topic for an argument! 😁
Bob is just Bob... I honestly can't think of any other way to put it.
I mean, he insists his name is Bob Sledge, if I recall correctly, but I distinctly remember watching him on TV and everyone just calling him "Bob." Honestly, when he finally reads this, I am going to give him such a hard time!
If I just say "bowling," would you all know which sport I’m talking about? And is there a different, more technical way we refer to it here in the States? My boyfriend and I are constantly bickering over the terminology, so if any experts out there could weigh in, I would truly appreciate the info!
unknown said:I absolutely loved The Terminal! That role was just perfectly cast for Tom Hanks, who already proved himself with Forrest Gump. On a scale of 1 to 10... I'd give it an 8.5. It was such a lovely surprise! Of course, art is subjective, but people usually tell me I have pretty great taste in movies. 😉 And when it comes to the classics, if you haven't seen Scent of a Woman (Al Pacino), The Silence of the Lambs (Anthony Hopkins), unknown (Ed Harris), or Lolita (James Mason) from back in the day—well, you might as well just shoot yourself! 😁
Wait, what was "unknown" about? I can't quite remember if I ever actually sat down to watch it. 😕
Are you going to lend me those ski gloves of yours? (Assuming we actually get some snow 😁 ) As for everything else... goodness, I had no idea you were such a sensitive soul! Honestly, I’m constantly dealing with a sniffle, but when it comes to actual sore throats, I can count them on one hand in my entire life—but hey, I guess I just have a different constitution... 🙄
Post-New Year goals: EXERCISE! :jendvatri: 😁
Oh, please, you don't know what you're talking about! And like I said, I saw you the other day—you're way more disorganized than I am, so of course you're freezing in just a single fleece jacket! Even I get chilly in my grandma's heavy knit sweater! Seriously, even today with it being 40 degrees out, I'm bundled up in a scarf, a hat, gloves, and double socks. You have to be careful! Okay, once the New Year hits, we'll start working out and keep each other in check!
boldeagle3 said:Is there any way to finally put an end to this? Honestly, year after year, it just gets harder and harder for me to deal with the winter season, the biting cold, and all that gloom. It’s becoming quite a struggle! It’s the absolute truth! If I had to guess, I’ve dealt with poor circulation my entire life! If I had known how much I would end up hating being outdoors, I would have learned how to pass out back when I was a kid! Playing in the snow was always just a distant dream for me. Honestly, I couldn't bring myself to do it because my fingers would end up aching terribly from the freezing cold! I’d say those gloves would be about a 20% help to me! I have to layer up in a mountain of clothes just to feel even remotely warm! It is absolutely freezing out there. I swear, my head feels like it’s about to fall right off whenever the temperature drops! It is absolutely baffling to me—how do some people actually function without ever wearing a hat? I honestly don't understand how they do it. 😕 ) Well, perhaps my weight is a bit on the lower side right now—I think I'm sitting at about 105 pounds—but honestly, I’ve never actually been heavier than this! It's not like I've been dieting or trying to slim down... if anything, I've actually put on a little bit of weight lately! If I were an asthmatic, and my mother had spent my entire childhood cranking the heat up to 95 or 100 degrees in my bedroom—thinking that keeping me sweltering would somehow prevent me from getting sick because I was "fragile"—I honestly don't know how I would have coped! It’s such a wild concept to think about. My goodness, the sheer discomfort! 🙄 It’s quite a predicament to find myself in—having absolutely nothing to do while being stuck in this sedentary role! Honestly, it feels like I'm just watching the clock tick away. It’s one thing to have a manageable workload, but sitting here with zero activity is a different story entirely. I occasionally find myself staring out the window at the skyline, wondering how I can make these hours feel productive when my desk is completely still. Such a strange sensation, really! It’s just too much! Honestly, I can barely wrap my head around it. It's simply overwhelming! What are your thoughts on this?
If it makes you feel any better—though it certainly doesn't make things easier for me—being about 20 pounds heavier than you doesn't actually make me any warmer! Honestly, every single winter, I end up looking like a total grizzly bear because of how much I have to layer up. I’m talking multiple pairs of socks, thick thermal leggings under everything, heavy sweaters—sometimes even two at once! I refuse to step foot outside without a hat, scarf, and gloves, otherwise, it's just not happening. Even then, my eyelashes freeze inside my hat, and my nose actually aches from the sheer cold. And don't even get me started on my feet; even with double socks and heavy-duty boots, my toes feel like they might actually fall off! To top it all off, I seem to catch about five different throat infections every winter, which means I can never go more than two weeks without feeling under the weather. The absolute worst part is that once the sore throat clears, a nasty cold always follows right on its heels. It feels like every bit of fluid in my body just drains out through my nose, and then, predictably, the coughing starts. 😠 It’s just inevitable at this point! Even though I make it a strict rule never to touch anything colder than 60 degrees—I can't stand that icy feeling hitting my mouth—it still happens. To stay ahead of it, I’ve been loading up on plenty of honey and lemon as a little preventative measure. I truly hope this brings you even a little bit of comfort. I understand that you can't simply quit your job—most people are stuck behind a desk all day just like you are. That is exactly why you absolutely must sign up for a gymnastics class or force yourself to exercise at home. Just remember how much you were complaining about your back! No one else is going to fix that for you, for goodness' sake. You're still young, and you only get one body; why on earth would you treat it so poorly? It isn't true that you can't find at least an hour and a half twice a week to work out. Personally, I don't feel quite like myself until I start exercising regularly. Once it becomes a habit, exercise is truly wonderful. You stay in shape, which is perfect; you feel better and you can handle so much more. Aerobics is such a fantastic option. Please, just give it a try! I know you tend to tire yourself out easily, so why not pick up yoga again now that you have the opportunity? Don't let yourself hit 40 without doing this, or your body will start seriously collecting on those debts you owe it. I actually have some great home workouts from Jillian Michaels that I pulled from my Kindle library. They mostly target the core, back, and glutes. They aren't difficult at all—just a few minutes per exercise—and you don't even have to do them every single day. Besides that, there is a wealth of literature available at any local library; you just have to decide what you want to focus on. Remember how we used to warm up during PE class in school? That was truly so good for the system. It doesn't overexert you, which is ideal for you, but it stretches and warms up the muscles exactly as needed. You’re essentially killing two birds with one stone by improving both your mobility and your circulation, which means you'll actually feel warmer! If you need a push, I will be the one to motivate you. You can come over to my place and I'll lead the workout; my room is a bit cramped, but we will make it work somehow. The most important thing is having the willpower! Or, perhaps, persuade someone to join you for whatever activity you choose. Currently, I'm a bit short on cash, so that's a factor. Most importantly, please learn how to eat properly. You can afford to prioritize your nutrition now. No more pizza or junk food. In the morning, you absolutely must drink something warm. Without exception—cocoa or milk would be best. Warm yourself up before heading outside. Put your shoes on early so your feet stay warm while you're still indoors, and only then head out. If you feel a chill the moment you step out, go back inside and add another layer. And please, don't stand still in one spot for too long. Keep moving; just keep moving! Once the first snow finally hits, you absolutely have to go out and have a little snowball fight. Go ahead and wake up that inner child! Honestly, I’ve got some heavy-duty ski gloves at my place that are completely waterproof—I’ll lend them to you so you can throw snowballs to your heart's content. Believe me, you haven't truly experienced winter until you've actually played in it; otherwise, it’s just a season of being freezing cold. Just be careful not to aim for anyone's neck or head; we don't want any accidents! And make sure you demand that same level of care from him or them, too. Have fun! You'll completely forget about the bitter cold, the numb hands, the poor circulation, and how much you usually dread the winter months. Just let yourself be talked into it—don't just say "no" right away. After you finish reading this, you need to actually accomplish something. Don't just skim through it; if you have to, print it out and stare at it every single morning. You need to hit at least one major milestone before spring rolls around.
dustyscout53 said:Did you guys catch that Christmas movie? Billy Bob Thornton as Santa Claus, and that chubby kid playing a chubby kid? It was honestly the first comedy that absolutely killed me after Zoolander. I actually went to see it on Sunday at around 1:30 AM when the theater was totally empty—I felt a little embarrassed laughing so hard by myself! There’s this one scene where they’re driving in the car and Bill tells him, "You've definitely taken too many hits to the head." And the kid just goes, "Whose head?" and then they start bickering. I was literally rolling on the floor. 😁 😁 😁
How could a movie be anything but hilarious when Santa Claus is a total drunk, the kid is overweight and constantly sniffling, and there are even little people involved? My only gripe is that since it's a bit of a mainstream film, some of the jokes couldn't have been even more radical, if you know what I mean.
Ugh, I just can't stand Thornton. I didn't even realize he was acting in it; otherwise, I never would have watched it. I didn't really enjoy it. I mean, the concept is cool, but I wasn't impressed. Thank goodness I didn't pay for my own ticket, or I would have felt so bad. That chubby kid is actually hilarious, though.
And don't even get me started on the part where Santa Claus pees his pants! 🙄
Colateral said:So, if that’s all there is to it, does that actually make the movie bad?🙄
Well, of course it isn't just that! But let's be realistic—don't go expecting any miracles. Personally, I'd definitely watch it again once I have some free time, because for me, it was totally worth the watch.
Vin Diesel said:I honestly have just one question here:
If some of you are already calling this a masterpiece, doesn't that mean the director actually managed to pull off a decent—and more importantly, watchable!!—movie about something that basically has zero plot? I mean, how do you stretch two-plus hours of people being stuck in the exact same location into something engaging? 🤔
If they pulled that off, then the movie has to be good; that is incredibly difficult to achieve. 🙂
I wouldn't say it's that hard, though; you just have to give the actors enough room to run with it.
"G" sounds more like an "H," but with a bit of a twist. Honestly, if you want to hear something truly hilarious, you have to visit Ukraine. They do synchronized movies there, but get this: they have just ONE person reading every single line of dialogue, and they do it in a tone so monotone it’s like listening to a boring high school textbook being read aloud. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! I was absolutely stunned—this one woman was voicing both the men and the women, or vice versa; it was simply beyond belief!!!! We were all dying of laughter because of how pathetic it actually was!!
cosmictrucker132 said:I was watching this segment on FOX the other day... there was an interview with this guy... maybe in his 40s, looked like a bit of a drifter from overseas... he's been living out at the airport for years now... Apparently, Steven Spielberg even offered him some cash for "copyrights"... I recall the amount being pretty peanuts... especially when you consider how much money movies actually pull in these days... And man, I still haven't seen it! Even though it’s totally not the genre I usually go for, I really want to check it out...
I've heard about that guy too. From what I heard, he's still staying at the airport and doesn't even want to move back home.
mrsavipas said:Do you all believe in folk medicine? What kind of old-school home remedies are you familiar with? It doesn't matter if we're talking about a simple common cold or something more serious like kidney, heart, liver, or lung issues. Personally, when I catch a cold, I make sure to rub some garlic on myself, and if my throat starts acting up, I always mix honey and egg into some warm milk... I've even heard of people trying to bring down a fever using brandy compresses applied to the neck... What methods do you all use? And do they actually work for you?
I absolutely believe! I have experienced it firsthand. When I was just a little girl, I suddenly developed an eye infection while staying out in the countryside at my grandmother's place. We used chamomile, blah-blah-blah, every single day, but the eye just kept getting redder and redder, stinging and aching, and nobody could figure out what was causing it or why... Our first neighbor was a local "folk healer," but nothing worked. Finally, after many unsuccessful days of treatment, my grandmother took me to a woman who specialized in those things and explained the situation. This woman grabbed a broom—one of those rustic ones made of twigs—snapped off a small branch, and waved it around my eye while reciting a little chant. By the very next morning, the redness was completely gone! It was as if nothing had ever happened. So, how can anyone tell me that this stuff doesn't work!?
p.s. maybe that was actually something a bit deeper than just standard folk medicine
alfred stokes said:Superman is gone Christopher Reeve has passed away. His heart just gave out. 😢 It really hit me hard, even though I mostly just knew him as the man who played Superman, and later, the man in the wheelchair. I suppose it’s because seeing the hero I was so obsessed with as a kid end up like that just tugs at the heartstrings. I can't quite put my finger on why it moved me so much. 🙂
Rest in peace.
In my opinion, he suffered far too long, stuck in that chair like a vegetable—poor guy. Honestly, if I were in his shoes, I might have just called it quits right then (maybe he would have, too, if he had the choice). But from what I recall, he actually managed to land a role in a movie despite being in the chair.
stormycyclist13 said:That scene where he’s collecting shopping carts and tossing kids out just to scrape together enough cash for a meal🙂 hahaa...
Man, what a powerhouse of a movie! I totally agree—it’s been ages since I’ve seen a genuinely GOOD comedy.🙂
And then there's that part where he's stuffing his face with those crackers, mayo, and ketchup.........
Or when he's window shopping, meticulously planning which suit to buy... honestly, such a great touch.....
I also can't forget when he gets bored and ends up building and painting that entire wall himself, only for the contractors to show up the next morning and treat him like their star employee!
