Oh, you'll definitely enjoy it. It's basically a semi-autobiographical flick by Cameron Crowe. Honestly, I've probably seen it about ten times myself. 😳

Lester Bangs: So, you're a fan of Lou Reed?
William Miller: Only the early stuff. With this newer material, he’s clearly chasing Bowie's shadow. He really needs to just embrace who he actually is.

👍
Don't let people push you around or drain your energy—just blow them off. 😉
Whether it's meditation or whatever else keeps you grounded, lean into what gives you strength. Ryan Wilson2 mentioned needing a bit of "selfishness," but if you ask me, what you actually need is asertivnost.
They’re blending all sorts of stuff here—loud, live guitars and drums reminiscent of post-rock bands, mixed with those jittery samples you'd hear from Aphex Twin or Venetian Snares, plus a little touch of drum 'n' bass. The guitar, drums, and computer are all working in sync! I bet they’d be incredible to see live. It probably feels a lot like watching a Manitoba set.
Hey, you guys seriously need to go download some screenshots of Jill from Resident Evil: Apocalypse. She looks absolutely incredible... I WOULD DIE!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, it’s awesome to see so many Resident Evil: Apocalypse fans hanging out here. Quick question though—does anyone know the name of that track playing at the end of the apocalypse trailer? I couldn't find it on the official soundtrack... Help me out!
Quick poll time! 🙂 I’m actually seeing these terms for the first time on this forum... I voted for: Moderate Slacker - 60-75% slacker energy, though honestly, I live my "slacker" lifestyle pretty hard—everything I write is how I actually roll in real life, so maybe I didn't pick the perfect option. But whatever. 🙂 It would be nice if the high-achievers helped us slackers out a bit instead of just making fun of us. 😉
It’s almost here. This one is definitely going to blow the first one out of the water, though honestly, even the original was pretty solid. Can't wait!👋
I’m definitely not putting in as much effort as I really should be. 😢 😁 Right now, I’ve been focusing on relaxation techniques and visualization exercises. I’m also learning how to pose questions to my subconscious to get some actual answers, basically trying to sharpen my intuition. It feels a bit like I'm "digging" through my own psyche. Moving forward, I’m planning to get much more serious about hitting the gym... It’s nothing too crazy, though... 😢
Oh, there are definitely some—people have already thrown a few out there, but I won't give you a massive headache by repeating everything: Amarcord Blade Runner Rashomon Seventh Seal Seven Samurai Scenes from a Marriage ......but honestly, the list goes on forever.....

I'm wondering if there's actually a "natural" way to reach those elevated states of consciousness that people usually get through drugs.
Are there specific meditations, exercises, or anything like that?
Keep the answers simple—layman's terms, please.
Thanks! 🙂
Consciousness can move up and down a ladder, but we always end up identifying with just one version of ourselves. Think of these levels as a triangle: as you climb higher, the paths narrow significantly. When I'm climbing up, I feel this intense sense of focus and control. But when I'm sliding back down due to depression or burnout, my sense of self starts to blur, feeling almost like a mist. It brings on this creeping chill—this feeling that I'm just completely at the mercy of everything around me.
I actually read about this in a book called Mystery...
What I realized is that when someone tries to reach a higher state using nothing but their own mind, they use sheer mental force to achieve total clarity and focus, eventually hitting that "higher self" state. Because they are under such intense subconscious pressure and the exhaustion of trying to force it, their thoughts eventually funnel down into a single point of focus on that higher state. Conversely, when descending that same ladder, our sense of being becomes foggy, and we start feeling fearful of the people around us.
Gaudrath said:I once tried explaining to a friend what it actually feels like to let your consciousness merge with a tree. I couldn't quite nail it in person—especially since I didn't have a particularly majestic old oak right in front of me—so I doubt I’d have much luck trying to describe it over the internet either... 🙂
But how can you be sure it isn't just your imagination playing tricks on you?
Yeah—I get it. I really do. Most of this makes sense to me, and I’m fully aware of the situation. But honestly, I’d love to hear from someone who’s actually been in the trenches themselves, or maybe has someone in their own family dealing with something similar. I want to hear how things look from that perspective.
