Spirituality: Am I just being an idiot? in Spirituality ·
The past is gone and the future hasn't happened yet
— all we really have is this single, fleeting moment 😁

pardon my messy English😁

This whole thread is drifting way too far from what I actually asked. Everyone’s obsessed with this idea of "looking like an idiot," which basically implies you aren't actually stupid, you just messed up because you weren't paying attention.

For instance, I look back at some of my own posts from just a few years ago and I'm almost too embarrassed to even read them. They make me sound like a complete moron😁—even though back then, I honestly thought I was dropping some serious wisdom...

That’s the thing I’m really working on, because I know that letting go of that guard is where true freedom lives.
Some days I nail it, and some days I totally fail. 😁
But honestly? I'm trying to stop being so defensive.😉

So, don't go bowing down to me just yet—I'm still very much in the "learning how to be an idiot" phase.😁

🙂 You're pretty amazing...
But it makes me wonder: are you becoming immune to praise and admiration too?😉

Paul Campbell3 said:That’s exactly why I love it. Like the saying goes, you can only really screw up in front of yourself.
Once everyone around me gets used to me being a total goofball, they’ll just stop paying attention to everything I do—and honestly, that feels like pure freedom.
I'll be able to just shrug and say, "What did you expect from a guy like me?"😁

Isn't that the dream?😉

If what you wrote is actually true (and not just some defensive way of spinning things 😉 ), then you have my 🙏

It’s pretty rare that I actually screw up, but people sure do love trying to make me look like an idiot. Honestly, though? They aren't going to succeed. 🙂

🙂 🙂 🙂

I rarely end up looking like a fool myself—but that’s only because I keep my guard up.😁 So really, the focus should be on just being yourself, not about how others perceive you.😁

Then the theory is totally off base. 😁

One of the biggest signs of a fool is that they have absolutely no clue they’re being one. 😁

Are you talking about those self-serious guys who can't even take a joke about themselves?😁

Jack Harris3 said:Exactly. 😁

(Is it just realizing you actually don't know anything? Or is that just deep philosophy? 🤔😁)

No, no, let's stay on track here. We all know what a fool looks like.😁 You know that awful feeling when you realize you’ve been acting like a genius, only to find out you were actually being ridiculous?😱

What do you all think about the idea that the path of spiritual growth is really just a journey toward realizing exactly how much of an idiot you actually are?😁

The data shows they tend to have lower IQ scores.😁 🙂
They’d much rather take the path of least resistance and just swallow whatever dogma some religious system throws at them instead of actually doing their own research.
Besides, for most of them, faith is really just built on fear.
Fear of punishment, hell...

👍

... and greed for eternal life in Paradise.😉
Broadway definitely. I’ve officially lost my patience with AMC. My girlfriend and I decided to catch a movie, so I went ahead and booked our tickets online through AMC and headed out. When we pulled up to the garage entrance, the light was green—everything seemed fine. But as we started driving down through the levels, every single floor had a red light. After basically going on a safari through every level of that parking garage, I finally got back outside, only to find the entrance light was green again. That's one strike against them. Eventually, I managed to find parking about 20 minutes away. When I finally reached the concession stand, the line was a mess. I joined the queue at the reservation desk, but the guy working there was incredibly slow. He didn't have any change, an elderly couple started yelling at him because he sold them tickets for the wrong day, and he couldn't even locate my reservation. Meanwhile, the lines at all the other windows completely cleared out, and I almost just gave up and bought standard tickets since they were still available, but I didn't want to lose those good seats I'd reserved. That's two strikes. Finally, after waiting 25 minutes, I grabbed the tickets and headed toward the auditorium. I picked up some cold popcorn and stood by the doors, only to find the employee standing right in front of the entrance refusing to let anyone in. We didn't actually get inside until 15 minutes after the movie was supposed to start. That's three strikes. Now, I will say the theater itself is really nicely designed, which made me temporarily forget all the nonsense that happened before. One point for them. But then came the twenty-minute ego trip. It was just constant bragging about how AMC is the best, the biggest, the prettiest, etc. That's four strikes. When the movie finally started, the guy in the projection booth forgot to turn off the lights, so there was this bright 1m x 2m square glowing on the screen the entire time. Five strikes. To top it all off, the doors weren't shut properly, so you could hear all the noise from the hallway the whole time. Six strikes. To wrap this up: a messy experience at AMC combined with a painfully boring movie like Master and Warrior results in 🙂

Coming up on February 26th... it’s a Thursday, naturally... I seriously can't wait... honestly, anytime Tim Burton is involved, I'm all in... though I am dying to know when they might release 21 Grams.

I think it’s worth pointing out the incredible scientific method used in this film... especially regarding how they studied the "carefree" types... for instance, looking into their musical preferences... according to the director, about 95% of them swear by The Beatles

Also, Penn’s performance is absolutely breathtaking... easily his best work yet... at least until 21 Grams hits theaters! 🙂
How to gain weight? in Health ·
Alright, so I’m standing at about 6'1" and weighing in at 152 lbs, which means I definitely need to pack on some serious mass. I’d love some advice... specifically, what’s the best way to bulk up? Any tips or tricks you guys recommend? Cheers!
Yeah, totally agree on Sudden Sid. Honestly, instead of wasting time praying they’d suddenly wander onto the stage to claim their awards, they should have just put their names on the big screen or something. It would've been way more efficient.

But hey, if nothing else, I think today's spike in new sign-ups proves people are still hooked. I know I am.🙂

Where on earth did you guys find those two crazy girls—Lollobrigida?

They were awesome. So much energy, super kitschy, and just unapologetically trashy...👍
Lollobrigida’s set and those balloon antics were such a blast! Such high energy! 🙂 But man, that awards ceremony... talk about a total buzzkill.
It completely killed the vibe. They really should have kept things moving—it felt way too dragged out.

Jack Harris3 said:It’s about gaining that deep insight into what actually drove the poet to pen those specific lines. 😉

Is that your take on love? 🙂

🙏 🙏 🙏 attempt no. 2:

If I were to draw a parallel between how we "consume" poetry and these three distinct types of intelligence, here is how I’d break it down:

IQ = knowing your vocabulary and having the mental capacity to distinguish between different terms and grasp their underlying concepts.

EQ = an appreciation for the sheer beauty of word choice, the ability to sniff out deeper metaphors, and a genuine awareness of the poet's perspective.

SQ = falling head over heels for the poet themselves.

...but, unfortunately😢 , I can already see that my little theory was nothing but pure nonsense. 🙂

Orion said:You can't go anywhere lately without hearing this term pop up. It follows the massive hype around IQ, and then the mid-nineties craze over EQ (emotional intelligence). Now, people are claiming that both of those actually stem from one core source—SQ, or spiritual intelligence.

What’s your take? Do you feel any traces of that kind of spiritual intelligence living inside you?

😉

True intelligence might just be spiritual intelligence at its heart.
If you look at it mathematically, it would look like IQ + EQ = SQ, assuming that IQ and EQ actually work in inverse proportion to one another... 😉
