It’s a great movie, though I honestly wish it didn't focus so heavily on the sick mother. I also think they could have done a better job capturing what life was actually like back then, especially since I was just a little kid at the time 😢.
I'm not entirely sure, but I have a feeling you might be dealing with some kind of fungal infection. It’s probably nothing to lose sleep over, but you really should check in with your doctor to get a prescription for either a cream or some pills, depending on how far along it is...
Do you even know what you actually want out of life?
I do. But knowing isn't enough. There's a massive gap between what we want and what we can actually make happen. Sometimes, that gap feels impossible to bridge.
Honestly? It's both. Dreams keep us going, and life just keeps feeding us new ones to dream about. 😉
So, what do you do when you aren't doing your "day job"?
I pull weeds and plant seeds.
Where would you most want to be right now?
Maybe here, maybe anywhere. It’s not really about the geography; it’s more about where your head is at. Right now, I'm perfectly fine right where I am. But tomorrow? Who knows...
How are you feeling in this moment?
Exhausted. Just totally wiped out.
Am I living my dream?
Not quite. There was a bit of a short circuit between what I envisioned and how life actually played out (karma, fate, random chaos—take your pick). But I’m hoping to build and live a whole new dream soon.
Drew Young10 said:I’m reading through these posts and starting to think I’m the only one here who actually carries a donor card! Seriously, have some shame—all these excuses you guys make...👎
Just because someone hasn't signed up for a donor card doesn't mean they aren't a potential donor.

Look, I explicitly said PERSONAL, meaning my personal perspective right now—how I actually think and who I am today. I don't have kids, so it’s not something I lose sleep over. That's why I made it clear this is a PERSONAL choice.

Whether it's right before the holiday or after it's all over...
Yesterday, a friend and I were just venting about how much of a failure we feel like. She’s struggling because she can't find anyone worth her time, and I’ve been moping around wishing I could find someone even halfway decent... but then it hit me: we aren't failures at all. It’s all just silly, kind of funny, and honestly doesn't matter that much...
There’s nothing in this world that’s ever going to be perfect for us. Most people here are miserable just because they're single, but I have a best friend who’s married, and half the time, I see more loneliness in her eyes than I've ever felt myself.
We don't need some "instant fix" for the New Year. It's such a waste of energy to sit around wondering "what if"... especially now when the air is crisp and cold, everything is decorated, and emotions just feel deeper and more intense. Even sadness has its own beauty when it reminds you how much you're actually capable of feeling... and it's surprisingly easy to turn that into happiness if you just decide to.
I hope everyone gets wonderful gifts this year... whether they're things you can hold or things you feel. As for the people who were toxic and definitely don't deserve any gifts? I just hope they finally get their act together and find peace, wherever they end up.
And to everyone—including myself—I hope we all learn from our mistakes in the coming year. 😉 😁
ps. Walter Brooks3, I know it's an off-day, but I'm just spreading the good vibes here.. and I promise I won't post anything heavy again... in 2004, I want to be the resident hype-person of this Reddit thread.... haha 😁!
This movie is living proof that Quentin Tarantino's prime is officially behind him. The endless genre references, the constant gore, the over-the-top violence... honestly, I could come up with at least 15 better ways to pull off a parody. Look, if the whole point of a movie is just to be a joke, then this joke is pretty damn lame to me.
Maybe they can scrape something better together for a sequel.
Organ donation... it’s one of those heavy life decisions you have to make for yourself, regardless of where you stand on the issue. I used to never give it much thought; honestly, the whole topic just felt a bit too morbid 😲 Then I met someone who actually needs a transplant, and it changed my perspective. Donation? Sure, I get it—but only if there's an absolute certainty that the donor has passed away. But, 😁, things aren't always that black and white. There's enough gray area for me to feel uneasy, which is why I think it's better to just not carry a donor card. And if I were ever the one needing an organ? I wouldn't want it. I'd turn it down, no question. I couldn't live with myself thinking someone might have been allowed to die just so I could get what I need. Plus, I couldn't bear waking up every day hoping for someone else's tragedy just so I could keep living a normal life.
The smartest move you can make is to do your business with a regional bank—specifically, one that has its Headquarters right there in your local County. Why does this matter? Banks operate on significant profits from Alphabet, and a good chunk of those earnings stays right in the County where the bank keeps its Headquarters.
dustycanyon6, I get where you're coming from regarding eggs and their protein structure. But honestly, that approach isn't for everyone. We have no clue how northernridge97's body actually works or what specifically fuels him best. Plus, the risk of salmonella is just too high. Nowadays, there are so many ready-to-go protein supplements on the market—why deal with the hassle and the health risks? It makes way more sense to pick something else instead of raw eggs. Like raw spinach, for instance. 😛
P.S. I can't stand eggs at all, whether they're raw, fried, or boiled. Everyone is built differently, which is why "one-size-fits-all" diets and generic advice are total nonsense.
Patrick Gonzalez76 said:... what’s everyone's honest take on this (for those who actually sat through it)?
The way they brought Thackeray's novel to life, frame by frame, was incredible. Honestly, it belongs in the conversation for the greatest adaptations ever made. Pure cinematic genius. A total masterpiece. 🙏
Honestly, I don't care what happens to my body once I'm gone... but if I'm actually going out,
Read this again;
Think about it: say there's a bad car wreck and they find someone on the brink of death whose organs would be a perfect match for some wealthy patient at the top of a waiting list. In those cases, they won't even bother trying to save them; instead, they just call the transplant recipient immediately, prep the OR, get everything ready, let the poor soul (the donor) pass away, and then the transplant can start as soon as the cash clears.
Organ donation is a noble cause, but we need better regulations and actual oversight in place.
Even you can't claim to be better than me when it comes to this topic! 🙂 ps. Look, if you're going to join this forum just to call everyone an idiot, then at least have the guts to reply to my post directly instead of messing around! :2up:
