And man, if Tool is considered "hardcore" now, then everything else is basically brand new news. 😲

Man, I feel for you. Go ahead, tear me apart (seriously).
Charles Bronson - he's still got it! in Movies ·
He slipped away quietly and cemented his place in the legends. He was one of those rare actors whose movies you could just sit back and truly enjoy without any effort. I’m really sorry to hear this. May he rest in peace.

Death Wish is ruthless. Every single time he took down some street thug, it felt like pure adrenaline. The man was a total legend. And that guy with the harmonica in Once Upon a Time in the West? Now that was a freaking icon. I'm telling you.😢

But since Formula 1 doesn't actually race on those tracks, there's really no way for us to know just how fast those cars would have gone.

A distributor over in Canada just printed 35,000 copies of the film "Heavenly Hook."
We need to get some flyers printed ASAP for the premiere of this movie—let’s get them out there in all the major cities!
Whether you're looking to get a better handle on things or just want a good laugh, it’s all about those small towns across the Midwest.

HEAVENLY HOOK - Movie Watching Guide (in English)

1. I can't believe this crap. There’s this one phrase that gets thrown around constantly in American slang, and honestly, it doesn't just have two or three meanings—it has an endless spectrum of them. It’s one of those versatile expressions you can use to channel absolutely any emotion. Take rage, for example: "Goddammit, what a load of crap!" Or if you're feeling pure joy: "Holy cow, man! Where have you been? I haven't seen you in ages!" Even when you're just baffled or impressed by something ridiculous: "Man, look at that absolute disaster, I can't believe it!"

2. What, enough of this bullshit? A phrase used to express disagreement with...
In modern American English, using this particular word usually acts as a negation. For example, if someone says "I want *****," they actually mean "I don't want" it.

3. Oh, give it a rest already! It looks like you were about to share some thoughts on a phrase based on statistical data, but the message cut off! Go ahead and drop the rest—I'm ready to dive into the numbers with you.
Based on the data, this really captures how the average American feels about the current state of the country compared to where things stood just a few years ago. And just to be clear, when I use the term "smoking," I’m not talking about enjoying a cigarette.

4. A total Mexican. 100% Mexican.

5. Holy crap! There’s this one word that pops up constantly in modern American slang that doesn't actually carry any specific weight—kind of like how we use "like" or "man" as fillers. Even though its origins are rooted in something sexual, it almost never has anything to do with sex in actual conversation. For example, if you're on a crowded subway in New York City and someone mutters, "Holy crap, this train is packed," they aren't making some weird proposition to the commuters; they're just expressing shock at how crowded the car is.

6. I couldn't care less. I honestly couldn't care less.

7. Man, just eat some crap. I'm worried.

8. Goddammit! It’s basically a legend born from a sea of curses—the mother of all hexes, really. It’s pure folklore.

9. And now you’re all suddenly playing the victim... Unfortunately, there’s just no direct equivalent in the English language for that specific verb. It’s one of those words where you can feel the frustration behind it, but nothing quite hits the same way. The best way to wrap your head around the nuance? This joke pretty much sums it up:

So, picture this: Joe and his parrot are cruising through the air on a flight. A flight attendant walks up to them and asks...
"They want to drink," Joe says, reaching for the whiskey. "Whiskey?" the flight attendant snaps back.
Are you people out of your minds? Do you seriously not realize we're at war right now? You should be feeling incredibly lucky that you even can.
"Not even on a plane!" — "Fine, then just bring me a soda," Joe snaps. Meanwhile, a flight attendant turns to a parrot sitting nearby. "And what about you?" she asks. "Don't you get smart with me, you little jerk! Get me a whiskey on the rocks, now!" the parrot shrieks. The flight attendant rushes to the pilot to complain about these bizarre passengers. The pilot tells her to just give them whatever they want, but warns that if they keep acting up, he’ll handle it himself. A second flight attendant comes by with their drinks—whiskey for the parrot, soda for Joe. Joe loses his mind immediately. He starts yelling at the girl, "What the hell is wrong with you? You give the damn bird a whiskey and give me a soda? Bring me a whiskey right now, dammit!" The flight attendant runs back to the cockpit to report the chaos. Suddenly, the pilot throws open the cabin door and tosses both Joe and the parrot straight out of the plane. As they’re plummeting toward the ground, the parrot looks over at Joe and asks, "So...?"
"Hey Joe, do you even know how to fly?" "No," Joe replied. "Then why on earth are you..."
What the hell?

10. If some stray bomb happens to go rogue and sends us all straight to hell.
Dammit!
It’s pretty obvious what these words mean. Honestly, I don't even get why they bothered putting them in this manual in the first place.

11. Everything is going to hell in a handbasket! It’s basically like number 10, except this one is a pretty grim observation, whereas the previous sentence actually felt optimistic.

12. Don't screw this up. Cut the crap!

13. Shut up and keep hating. Do whatever you want—just keep your mouth shut.

14. Watch your mouth, dammit! With those words, we’re making it crystal clear to the other guy that we aren't interested in getting into a shouting match or sinking down to his level of gutter talk.

15. What the hell is wrong with you? What's going on?

16. I look to my left, and holy crap—there’s a cherry tree just blooming right out of nowhere! There’s this fourth degree of comparison that only exists in the Mexican language. It goes like this: beautiful—more beautiful—most beautiful—beautiful my ass. Basically, it means someone is somehow even better than the most beautiful person imaginable.

17. What the hell is wrong with you, man? Seriously? So, what's on your mind? What's bugging you guys today?
Sir?

18. But I’ve had guts my whole life! - You’ll definitely get this one if you actually pay attention to the sessions in our Congress.

19. No worries, bro! - The classic way to say "NO PROBLEM," basically the first thing any foreigner learns when they land in the States.

20. I talked those losers into working - We picked this one to illustrate how modern American youth views the workforce. See, calling someone a "loser" is a perfect example of a high-tier insult: jerk, moron, idiot, loser. If we were comparing stupidity levels to speed, an "idiot" is like a beat-up old Ford, while a "loser" is already cruising at Formula 1 speeds.

21. The old lady kicked the bucket! - Short for: It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of an elderly lady following a long and difficult illness.

22. What the hell is wrong with you, you drunk jerk? - Good morning, neighbor! How are you doing today?

23. Come on over, I'm so damn full of... - Dearest mother-in-law,
we are looking forward to your visit with great anticipation and joy.

24. And why don't you just screw me over too - Well, you know... It's clearly some kind of light motif—like a recurring theme in a movie.
The Stanford Prison Experiment

image

Amazon: Drawing inspiration from that legendary 1971 psychological study, this film follows 20 volunteers who are split into twelve prisoners and eight guards for a two-week simulation designed to monitor their behavioral shifts. Things get messy when Fahd (Christian Bale), an undercover reporter playing a con to secure a bigger scoop, clashes with Berus (Justus von Dohnanyi), a guard who turns out to be a total power-tripper. What starts as a tense psychological drama—where small acts of defiance from the inmates are met with escalating violence from the guards—quickly devolves into a full-blown thriller. Fahd intentionally pushes the boundaries to make his story more sensational, but he ends up losing control as the participants on both sides push themselves toward a complete mental breakdown.
Thanks to a killer ensemble cast and a gritty, handheld camera style that makes you feel trapped right along with them, the movie takes its time building momentum. While there are some slow moments involving Fahd’s girlfriend (Meryl Streep) that feel a bit disconnected, the second half hits like a freight train, delivering a brutal, relentless descent into psychological and physical chaos. --Kim Newman

Hüsker Dü "Flip Your Wig" - $13$8
Hüsker Dü "Zen Arcade" - $26$12
PIL "Second edition" $22$7
V / a "Duck & cover" $18$9

I grabbed the first three today (on a pretty tight budget, since I basically blew my cash on some math encyclopedia—which I don't even need because I've already mastered everything in it 😎). I put the other three on hold so I can pick them up gradually.

Okay, this is slightly off-topic... but seriously, Hüsker Dü and PIL are absolute cult classics, and The Clash? Total legends! 😁

Wait, wasn't the PIL "album" released in 1986?😎
