Where's my President?! in Forum Help! ·
Well, look at that—a miracle. I didn't even see this coming on Discovery Channel 😍 😍 😍
It took me a minute to wrap my head around it. 😁
Don't they usually send out notifications for stuff like this?
Where's my President?! in Forum Help! ·
I can't find it anywhere in the subforums. The wish-list and comment sections have just vanished.
Does this mean I've been banned from there?
There’s no notification about a suspension, and nothing showing up in my inbox—no explanation, no duration, nothing at all.

It would be pretty ironic if I actually had to file an appeal regarding this.😁

So, yeah... tell them the old folks are wrong... (I mean, sure, throw it in their faces... maybe once, definitely not multiple times), turn the page, learn the lesson (that you shouldn't always listen to everyone), and just move on...

But, honestly, I think keeping it inside, processing it, and swallowing the stuff that's probably better left unsaid... is the way to go.

Oh, absolutely. Only problem is, we don't call it "they are wrong"—we call it "I am angry."

but, if they're actually telling the truth, then denying what happened would be just as bad...
don't you think?

hm.. the fact is, he and his parents had some kind of blowout over his education, and then he ended up enrolling in something he never wanted in the first place.

The causal links don't really matter here. On one level, it's the parents' fault for not doing this or that—on another, it's their parents' fault for raising him the way they did—then there's the government because not everyone has the luxury of choosing their major, or even God, for creating such a flawed world.🤷
The ways to twist the narrative are endless.

That said, it's been proven that people who view themselves as the primary drivers of their own lives are happier than those who point fingers at others. It makes sense—you feel more empowered when you actually hold the reins.
If your parents are calling all the shots, you're just left feeling helpless.

Look, I'm not saying he's lying—it's just that his perspective is skewed. It’s a bit naive, honestly.

Well, damn. If the old folks had actually listened to me instead of following everyone else’s advice back when I was picking a college, I wouldn't be in this mess. They insisted on forcing two failed majors down my throat, effectively wasting four years of my life on nothing. It was all under that classic "we know what's best for you" mentality.

Look, if you had just listened to your gut and picked what you actually wanted... you're still shifting the blame onto them, just like you're doing now with your old job. That mindset isn't going to get you anywhere.

swiftdriver11 said:Just try to wrap your head around every single war ever fought in history. Think about how many people were never even born because their entire lineages were wiped out in those conflicts. Once you realize that, you'll see that we aren't talking about some negligible statistic here...

I agree—that logic held water back when global violence was higher, but it doesn't really hold up today.
What percentage of the global population actually dies a violent death now? Should I go look up the stats? It's a tiny fraction. Negligible, really.

When I say "today," I mean roughly the last fifty years.

In the Crusades?
In the War on Terror?

A lot—but relatively speaking.
During the Crusades?

Nobody knows for sure.
Wars fought against or for terrorism?

Not many.

swiftdriver11 said:So, I’ve been chewing on this idea for a bit, and I think I’ve landed on a specific conclusion. It seems to me that nature—which is constantly being squeezed by the relentless expansion of the human population—has essentially found a way to check our species' monopoly over the planet.
Given that modern medical breakthroughs are constantly extending human lifespans, which places massive pressure on the entire ecosystem, it feels like warfare has evolved to take the place that diseases used to occupy.
Do you all think that wars are just another mechanism through which nature manages us? In other words, we're just animals, and we're the ones most threatening the balance.
If that logic holds up, then it follows that war isn't necessarily an absolute evil.🤷

Look, I know, I know—don't go labeling me some kind of heartless monster or start throwing examples from the American Civil War in my face. But if you really step back and think about it, this is just nature playing its hand against us.
I can already hear people saying that war has always existed, but let's be honest: we have never seen weaponry this devastating, and we have certainly never seen death tolls on this scale.
I'm curious to hear what you guys think.

Not enough people die in wars. Think about the losses during the American Civil War—maybe 30,000?
Compare that to how many people die from, say, smoking cigarettes.
I struggle with viewing nature as this separate, sentient entity, but I’ll concede that war does allow for a certain kind of survival of the "fittest" individuals or societies.

If you were part of a tribe a thousand years ago, war was an efficient tool for weeding out the weak so only the strongest survived to breed.
Look, don't go branding me a heartless sociopath or start throwing examples from the American Civil War at me—but if you really sit down and think about it, this is just nature playing with its food.
People will argue that there have always been wars, but let's be honest: we've never had weapons this lethal, and the scale of death has reached levels we can't ignore.
I want to hear what you all think.

Statistically speaking, far more people died from combat wounds a thousand or two years ago than they do today. Wars used to drag on for decades; almost every man was drafted, and civilian casualties were massive...

Betty Alvarez78 said:You're spot on—forget the relationship, honestly. But we still need some sort of logical explanation for how these bacteria even work. We need a conclusion that actually makes sense.
Or just admit it was already there and finally flared up.

Wait for the diagnosis first. Look into every possible way that specific bacterium (assuming it actually *is* a bacterium) can enter the system, and then you'll have your answer. Let's be real here—you probably hooked up with some cheap girl from a dive bar (those types are always 🤷), but hey, you can always tell yourself you caught it at a gas station restroom if that helps you sleep better.

Do you honestly think he wouldn't hide his illness if he were cheating on you? Or do you think he's playing dumb—assuming you’d also hide an illness just to cover up an affair? 😁

But how can I be certain it isn't something from before? Or that it's actually "fresh"—you know? I truly trust him. That’s why I’m asking you all this.

Just ask him and let him tell you. If you need actual proof to feel secure, then honestly—just scrap the relationship.🤷

I'm being serious because this raises some massive questions. If he turns out to have chlamydia or whatever else, we both have to face the music about where we picked it up, you know?
Has anyone actually dealt with something like this before? I haven't, so I'm flying blind here.

He's definitely sleeping with someone!!! 😈 What kind of knife are you planning to use to kill him, and what are you going to serve for his breakfast? 🙂

Betty Alvarez78 said:Look, I’m not being naive—I’m just confused. It’s been ten days since that irritation started, and now he claims his eye hurts every time he blinks.
I'm just wondering if there's even a remote chance this is all a coincidence—like, maybe it's some random tenth thing and not some fucking bacterial infection or whatever.
If, for example, I’ve had this since before we met and everything was fine without a single symptom, why is he dealing with it now after three years?
Forgive my confusion; emotions are running high, and logic has left the building.

I'm telling you—he was playing with himself and finished in his own eye.😁
Or maybe one of his buddies did it to him.😁

Alexander Hall43 made a fair point. Chlamydia, ureaplasma, mycoplasma—it’s all just part of the landscape. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Betty Alvarez78 said:Guys, is it possible to have this stinging sensation without it being an STI?
Could I potentially pass this off as just some random allergy?

Don't play games with the allergy excuse. STIs and eye infections are tied together—if you aren't careful during sex, bacteria can migrate easily. Don't be naive.

It should be over in a few days, but I’m spiraling here. I've got this sudden wave of anxiety—can't quite pin down why—but I was reading online that this specific symptom is strictly tied to STIs. Now I'm sitting here wondering why the hell it's happening right now. It's honestly nauseating.

maybe he's cheating😈
