Man, I am seriously jealous of you guys (it’s honestly such a trek for me to drive all the way out to a Small town just to play Pro Evolution Soccer). Maybe in a different life, or some better times when I actually have a ride...😢 Anyway, whatever—I guess I'll just have to recruit the neighbors for a few matches instead. They're basically my regular customers anyway...
I mean, sure, if you want to compare Stallone to Schwarzenegger, whatever, but putting him in the same sentence as Diesel😲?!? Give me a break, seriously...
I mean, maybe we *are* being a little selective...
Look, we don't even have to look that far! We’ve got our very own May Mioković—I mean, she’s basically a world-class junior champion in body fitness🙂 😍 :
Now, just to be totally clear, I'm not exactly a huge fan of women's bodybuilding myself👎
Adam Harris7 said:🤣 😂 So what, you're saying there aren't any gay guys among the bodybuilders? And vice versa, right? 😬
Look, I never actually said that! It’s not like I claimed there aren't any in, say, pro football or any other sport either. My point—which seems to be getting lost in the sauce here—is just that I can't stand how people basically equate being a bodybuilder with being gay. Like, if someone hits the gym or follows the sport, are you seriously implying they're automatically part of the community? Because that's a massive stretch. It’s pretty obvious you’ve been leaning a bit too hard into those old-school stereotypes... Man, where did this whole conversation even go? It's spiraling...🙄 We should really be debating who’s actually stronger instead of all this nonsense!😁
casualotter21 said:Look, even though you're trying to defend them, you're still throwing around that slur "fags" instead of just saying "gay." Tsk, tsk, tsk. Besides, what exactly did I even say against gay people?
What's wrong with my Latin?
Alright, let's just wrap this whole debate up. Just answer these two questions for me: Do you actually think it’s "gay" (or whatever term you want to use; homosexual) to admire a physique like Schwarzenegger's? Like, did you react to that photo with disgust just because you think appreciating it makes you one? And second: in your own opinion, what was the real key to his success: the muscles, those hilarious jokes he tells, or something else entirely?
Personally, I can't stand gay people 🙂 , which is why I use the word "fag"—and it really bugs me when they get lumped in with bodybuilders.
casualotter21 said:Quos eros demostrandum! Even if you can see my point is totally valid, why won't you just admit it?
And hey, look—we actually have them to thank for a lot of this stuff. Like, remember what Schwarzenegger said in that interview with Leslie Eldridge and his secretary Sumiko? He basically said his whole idea was centered around that iconic scene where Conan shoots a camel. Plus, he’s the genius behind the legendary "I'll be back!" line from Terminator—without that, the character just wouldn't be the icon we know today.
Honestly, I think the reason you don't actually read anyone else's posts is because you're just looking for an excuse to troll people!
I'm not even surprised, though. It reminds me of that movie "a song and play far away." You know, that mid-90s drama that shows how the AIDS epidemic first started blowing up in the US during the 80s? They showed how those bodybuilding conventions were basically these huge hubs where guys could meet up super discreetly and anonymously.
Thanks, really. Thanks a lot. 👋
I mean, why would I even bother arguing with someone who thinks all bodybuilders are gay, or looks down on everyone else following the sport or hitting the gym for fun?! You clearly haven't seen many movies, have you?🙄 Buddy, you are just absolutely loaded with prejudices and stereotypes.👋
And let's be real for a second: if Schwarzenegger hadn't been born with that insane, once-in-a-lifetime genetics that gave him those muscles, he'd probably still be out there chopping wood in some small town near Graz. Stick to your Latin lessons, man.👍
casualotter21 said:I bet he is! I’m seriously considering buying a massive poster of a shredded Arnold! I’d probably stick it on the inside of my bedroom door so my mom wouldn't see it when she walks in—wouldn't want her thinking her son has any homosexual tendencies! Then I could just sit there and admire that oiled-up body, that bronze tan, and that dark hair.
HAHA! So, apparently, it's perfectly fine to have prejudices against so-called "idiots," but calling other forum members names is where we draw the line! "Oh, tempora! Oh, fugit!"
He totally is! I was reading this book called "Hollywood 1997," which is this series of interviews by Leslie Eldridge where he talks to Arnold. The guy basically says that he and Bruce Willis are the only action stars who actually come up with their own lines. Like, if it were just about having muscles, even someone like Jean-Claude Van Damme would be a huge Hollywood icon instead of just starring in B-movies.
I’m telling you one more time: he made it primarily because of his looks. For crying out loud, Conan is packed with those funny anecdotes of his, and Terminator too 🙄. Okay, sure, those things helped his success, but they only really show up in his later movies—by then, he was already famous, to some extent.
And I'm not even going to comment on the first part, I'll just point out that there's a packed Madison Square Garden behind him, likely full of guys admiring that oiled-up physique, the bronze skin, and the dark hair🙄 And yeah, that's a top-tier comparison—comparing a ballet dancer like Van Damme to Schwarzenegger, a three-time Mr. Universe and seven-time Mr. Olympia👍
Ethan Perez97 said:Whoa, hold up a second! I feel like this survey is veering off track. We aren't here to just gawk at Arnold Schwarzenegger's physique—though, let's be real, it's impressive—we're supposed to be breaking down his movies versus Sylvester Stallone's... and eventually figuring out who actually comes out on top! 😎
But honestly? Their bodies are basically their trademark, so you can't really have a conversation about them without touching on that stuff. But alright, fine—enough with the photo dump... 😉 I'm leaning towards Schwarzenegger being the tougher guy, 😁 which seems to be what the poll is showing right now—and he's winning by a landslide...
glupinickname said:GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! my EYES!!! MY... EYES!!!!! NAKED GUYS IN THONGS.... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!
Jesus, where's the soap?! I need to wash my eyes out immediately! Gross! Yuck!
What an absolute jerk you are🙄! Seriously though, having a body like that is pure art. And please, don't even start with those weird comments about being gay or whatever.
My whole point with that picture was to show how much Schwarzenegger's physique actually mattered in him becoming the icon he is today—I mean, sure, he’s got tons of charisma, which definitely helps, but let's be real. You aren't seriously going to tell me he made it all because of his one-liners, right? He crushed it primarily because of those biceps and triceps... just like how Stallone managed to pull it off too.
Here, have another photo if you want to keep losing it🙄:
Elizabeth Price2 said:I honestly think Schwarzenegger is winning this one hands down. I mean, who wouldn't be obsessed with that insane energy he brings—and those killer lines of his? Compared to him, Stallone just seems totally muted, you know? And when you throw in that gorgeous accent of his? Man, it’s basically the perfect recipe for greatness!
In Predator, Arnold jams a knife into some guy's wall and yells, "Get to the chopper!"
So, I was rewatching the Running man the other day—you know, that classic scene where they basically saw through the guy with a chainsaw? Total madness! Later on, when his girlfriend asks him what actually happened to him, he just drops this absolute gem of a line: "He had to split!" Seriously, the pun is just too much, right? Pure gold!
Rambo is an absolute classic—seriously, such a gem! There’s that one iconic scene where Arnold is just holding this tiny, sleazy little mobster by one leg, dangling him right over the edge of a massive canyon. The guy is begging Arnold, practically pleading, promising he'll spill everything if he can just be let go. And what does Arnold do? He listens to the guy's pathetic rambling for a second, then just... lets him drop straight into the abyss. It’s hilarious! Then, when his buddy comes up and asks what happened to the guy, Arnold just gives her that look and goes, "I let him goooo!" Pure gold.
Total classic! A complete and utter classic! I mean, seriously—how can anyone even try to put Sly in the same conversation as him? It's just not happening!
Oh man, remember that one scene from the movie Twin? It’s hilarious—he shows up in the USA from some totally deserted island and just happens to spot a poster for Rambo III featuring that absolutely shredded guy!🙄 So, Stallone starts flexing those massive muscles—totally showing off, really—and then just casually brushes it all off with a wave of his hand like it’s no big deal... 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 Unstoppable!
I honestly don't get the whole hype around, like, fitness culture? I mean, seriously—people actually pay money just to go sweat their lives away😕 😕. It feels like such a massive "see and be seen" thing to me. It’s just what’s trendy right now, so if my friend is doing it, then I guess I have to go too🙂 . Anyway, I hit the gym myself, and while I'm there, I see women of all ages just sort of "jogging in place" and barely breaking a sweat—which, honestly, is kind of gross, sweating like that😕. But wait, how are you even supposed to lose weight if you aren't sweating? Maybe those "miracle gadgets" they sell on late-night infomercials that promise results in just 5 minutes a day? Maybe I'm just rambling aimlessly here since millions of people across the US are obsessed with fitness, but still... If you ask me, you're way better off taking that cash and spending it on a pool membership, or even better—just head to a local park or somewhere similar and run a few miles a day (maybe 45 mins or so). If you pair that with a solid diet, the pounds will just melt off effortlessly. No need for all that intense sweating! Here are a few classic nutrition tips for you guys: 1. Eat smaller meals, but more frequently throughout the day—at least 4 times (like 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm...) 2. Breakfast is non-negotiable! (try to eat within 1 hour of waking up) 3. If you can, grab some multivitamins 4. Swap white bread for whole grain; cut back on sugar (brown sugar is better than, say, cane sugar); watch the salt; stick to water and low-fat milk (for the calcium) as your main drinks; stay away from sodas and alcohol (beer); and load up on fruits and veggies; plus, try to eat fish at least twice a week Diet is absolutely everything—it really just comes down to willpower... Anyway, there's a ton of info out there on the internet, so just give it a quick Google search👋
Ugh, logic... I mean, wouldn't it be even more logical if a ton of people just watched Scary Movie films because they're straight-up fun? Like, you can totally turn your brain off—they're comedies where you can just laugh here and there (at least I do!). I don't really get why you guys find Scary Movies so repulsive, but hey, whatever...
Morgan Wright: there's gotta be a massive pile of War of the Worlds jokes coming, I can't wait...
So, here's a scene from the Third part of dark film (roughly, if my memory serves me right): Aliens are attacking, and then, bam!—the main characters are getting beat up, and suddenly this big guy (one of the leads) steps up and whacks an alien with a shovel, and the alien's head just pops right off. Then the guy goes: "Aha! Found their weak spot—they're helpless without heads!"🤣 That's how awesome Scary Movies are, especially since they already spoiled War of the Worlds😁. The best is yet to come...🙄
is Terminator 2 a blockbuster? Or maybe a T3? 🤔 If they are, then I’m definitely giving them my vote (especially T2, man). Am I totally tripping here, or did you guys just forget about... ta-da: GODZILLA?😲
Elizabeth Price2 said:And honestly, as weird as it sounds, I feel like we’d actually have a better shot at winning against a computer virus than some biological one.
Alright, I'll own it: I totally blew it with that statement. 😁 I clearly wrote that while still riding the high from just watching Independence Day, and—well, damn it—it was just straight-up nonsense. I’m actually on the same page as dustyscout here:
War of the Worlds was better made, purely for the effects, but man, I remember sitting in the theater eight years ago watching Independence Day and just being completely frozen... I remember it being my absolute favorite movie until Fight Club came along... Independence Day had such insane special effects back then, so that’s my vote for the winner.
...except for that bit about Fight Club 😁. I can vividly recall that exact feeling walking out of the theater after seeing Independence Day and hearing everyone buzzing about it. Sadly, after watching War of the Worlds, that vibe was totally different—just a massive disappointment, like the movie was a complete "nothing." No matter how many flaws, plot holes, or clichés Independence Day had, that specific "feeling" just pushes all that stuff to the background, which is why Independence Day will always be better than War of the Worlds for me.
It’s honestly more believable that George W. Bush would hop in an F-16 Fighting Falcon and blast off into deep space—wait, hold up! Actually, yeah, that DOES sound more plausible. Anyway—I'm totally voting for the vibe over the actual plot, so I'm going with War of the Worlds.
Nah, what’s actually more realistic to me are those biohazard suits the aliens wore in Independence Day—you know, the ones meant to protect them from all our nasty Earth germs—rather than just having a bunch of "naked" dudes digging through people's basements🙄!
So, which one of these two hits harder for you guys, and what’s the reasoning? Personally, I’m leaning towards Independence Day—and honestly, if it’s for nothing else, it’s just because of the story itself! It feels somehow more realistic to expect—God forbid!—an invasion like that and the way things would actually unfold afterward. Plus, as weird as it sounds, I feel like we’d have a much better shot at winning against some tech-based threat than trying to fight off some biological virus.
