The last James Bond I’ll ever add to my old-school VHS collection—and please, no mocking, I mean it! This one starring George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn't really sound like my cup of tea, even if it was directed by the Coen brothers (I mean, come on, give me Bloody Simple or Fargo, or even The Big Lebowski instead!). I'm honestly still on the fence about whether I'll even hit play. Now, Dragon Kiss is definitely going into my VHS stash though—I am totally obsessed with Jet Li, especially alongside legends like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. As for the rest? Seen 'em all. Life's Meaning is plenty enough for a first watch (full disclosure: it's the worst Python flick I've ever sat through, just super dull and not funny at all), and Hard Target is... well, it's okay in parts, but mostly just a bad movie. That part where he shoots the bad guy and then kicks him down is just incredibly annoying, you know? So, what about you guys—any of these on your New Year's Eve watchlist?
Man, forget all that! Seriously, if you can, just step out for a bit, grab a drink, and clear your head. Just take a break from the movies for a second!😁
And regarding this year's New Year's lineup? Honestly, I've seen way better stuff.
I just checked and saw that FOX is airing Wiper and Revenge (with Schwarzenegger) tonight!🙄
Wishing everyone nothing but the absolute best as we head into the holiday season!🙂
Statistically speaking, there’s gotta be at least one decent sequel in that bunch!
I'm putting my money on The Terminator.
But honestly? I love them all—they've got a special place in my heart—so I’ll probably end up binge-watching the whole lot anyway.
mellowbadger8 said:Hey man, so how many medals did you actually win representing the USA?
I’ve been living in the States for the last few years, but I spent my entire competitive career back home, competing for the national team for years.
Back in '90, I actually had scholarship offers from a few different US universities sitting right in front of me—but nope, I stayed put because I didn't want to be far from my Homeland while the war was going on.
Look, between whatever meager handouts you get from the government and those tiny little scholarships, you can't exactly build a life—especially in a sport like swimming. And even after you retire, trying to break through the bureaucracy and the "inner circle" of people who seem to own everything while you're just trying to start something new... it's terrifying. Honestly, Draganja, you can basically forget about ever getting a decent post-grad opportunity here.
And you're being pretty hilarious, claiming things are easy when you've clearly never been in a position where someone actually offered you those kinds of opportunities.
What's even funnier to me is how nobody complains when foreign athletes come over and sweep up all our medals—talk about hypocrites! Ljubicic wouldn't have stood a chance at playing for another country back then, but if he could have, he would've been set for life. You guys love Pešalov, and don't even get me started on those volleyball medals. Irina is one of ours—honestly, half the women in this country are probably Irinas, right? 😁😁 😁 You guys are driving me crazy, seriously!
👋
Here we go again🙄. Back to talking about Ljub, Pešalov, and the volleyball girls.
Omg, you totally forgot about da Silva! 🙄

Man, I still remember when Al Bundy was sitting there wondering how on earth Bruce Willis actually became such a massive star!🤣
Pure legend status right there...
David Price5 said:Did anyone actually come out of the 90s looking ripped? Please tell me we aren't stuck with just Vin Diesel now...
Hey, we've still got Dwayne Johnson!🙏 🙏 🙄
Schwarzenegger, please come back...🙂
Commando.
Total trash, but I love it! 🙏
Dana Anderson4 said:well then just tell us what he actually did
Did he murder someone? Steal a car, burn down a house, commit some serious crime?
Nah, he basically just tripped over his own greed for a quick buck
And honestly—there isn't even a shred of integrity left in that guy😉
Dana Anderson4 said:...he didn't actually do anything criminal or even morally shady, and honestly, he’s better off not trying to justify himself to anyone...
Well, that's exactly where you're tripping up—if you really think there isn't a massive moral issue here, then we're definitely seeing things differently!😉
I’m honestly just worried that America won't let him go as easily as he walked away from us—you know, like they'll keep coddling him or trying to suck up to him to get him to come back. I just feel like they aren't going to treat him like a Qatari🙂
Dujadin, just give it up already!🙂
Morgan Wright said:Man, I actually just grabbed it off LimeWire yesterday—fingers crossed I actually get around to watching it this weekend!
Ugh, okay, now I feel like I seriously need to download Blade Runner too.
Seriously though, LimeWire was such a classic, wasn't it?👍
Tyler Price3 said:Every single year during the Christmas season, Americans sit down to watch Christmas watching It's a Wonderful Life, while we all just stick to some random biblical movie.
If you had to pick, what would you rather binge?
That's not even true—we actually watch "Miracle on 34th Street" every single year!😁
crotomy said:looks like our superstar icon is staying put after all!! apparently patriotism and pure heart won out😁
Yeah, right—"won out," my ass!
I honestly don't know which part is more pathetic: the fact that he basically has to hold his career hostage just to get paid (threatening to go swim under a different flag) or the realization that maybe there isn't any other way for him to scrape together that kind of cash. Seriously, I can't decide who's more sleazy—the athlete himself or the shady sponsorship politics behind it all.
Anyway, here's a little something for the road🙂
Sophia Rivera402 said:For sure. Though I definitely took some heat from my buddies when I brought it up—you know how it is. You just can't convince them that it's impossible or even worth trying for three whole days 😁
Huge respect to the Brazilian, the guy is a straight-up genius... but he's not quite 😉 Ronaldinho the alien
My crew is exactly the same way. You try to explain that the whole thing is rigged, but they aren't buying it. It’s just like when Lebron James sinks a shot from the opposite end of the court four or five times in a row 😲. They honestly believe he's just doing it naturally 🙄
Man, what an absolute train wreck of a movie👎 Zero points.
Honestly, the only thing that actually motivated me was wanting to go back and watch the original.
Brandon Castillo4 said:There’s that old saying, right? "You can't sit on both sides of the fence." And honestly—man, it is so true. You really just can't.
Or, to put it in plain American English—you know, that old-school wisdom we all grew up hearing: "You can't have your cake and eat it too." You just can't try to sit on two different chairs at once! 😬
If they actually pull this off and let him do it, I’m officially switching sides—I might as well just become a total outsider at that point!😉
copperpuma96 said:What are you even gonna do when there aren't many people left on your side? I mean, whatever—it's way too late to change your mind now...
Don't you worry about a thing. We've got your back...👍
rapidhound78 said:It honestly drives me nuts seeing how many people still try to defend him...😕
Unbelievable!
Personally, I’m just fascinated by how we all seem to be stuck in this endless loop of arguing about the same thing over and over...😵 🙂
-Andriy Shevchenko- said:... quite a lot regarding what professional sports actually entails...
So, you've gone out of your way to break down for certain people what "professional sports" even means in this day and age.
But look, let me throw a question back at you: what’s really the difference between an athlete using performance enhancers and an athlete selling their citizenship—basically, selling themselves—to become a mercenary? Everyone calls the first guy "immoral" and gives him all the grief in the world... blah blah blah. But the second guy? People actually get it, they support him, and they even try to justify it. Why is that? At the end of the day, neither one has anything sacred besides the paycheck, and both have about as much integrity as a streetwalker on a Friday night. Seriously, where do we draw the line??? Does that line even exist anymore??? You even said it yourself (and honestly, I'm right there with you)—that modern professional sports is basically everything *except* actual sport. Is that really what every fan is striving for? Are we all just hoping sports keeps evolving in this direction? Where is this all heading? Is this truly the goal of athletics?
Unfortunately, by thinking like you and everyone else who backs these shady decisions and tries to make excuses for them, we're ensuring that today's sports becomes nothing more than a business. Sadly, that's just how it is.😢
You guys living in (mega😁)huge cities have such cute little problems compared to mine—or anyone else's living somewhere where there isn't a single theater within a 31 miles radius. Like, oh no, what a tragedy if you have to travel just one bus stop further, or if the color of the seats at the local cinema doesn't match your aesthetic (total bad vibes🙄).
A long time ago (okay, fine, maybe 4-5 years ago), we actually had a theater too, just like many other towns with about 10-15k people. But now? Theaters are dying off even in places like Washington, D.C. If you ask me, the big issue is all this tech advancement that "smaller" theaters just couldn't keep up with.
So, point number one: whoever could shell out, I don't know, tens of thousands of dollars for 5.1 surround sound—basically a full theater overhaul—that’s the person who survived.
Point number two: obviously, there's digital piracy, which has also taken a massive toll on movie houses.
All in all, running a theater just doesn't make sense financially anymore.
And as for watching movies (especially sci-fi or action flicks) sitting in front of a monitor with two crappy desktop speakers instead of being in a real theater🙂
I mean, look, I can't just pop into a theater whenever the mood strikes (even though I really, really wish I could), and on the flip side, I can usually snag a digital copy before it even hits our local screens. Still, I find myself waiting for the Blu-ray release just so I can get some decent quality and enjoy the movie in my makeshift "home theater."
My official proposal: everyone get back to the theaters, and death to piracy!👋 🙂
😁
