Man, this is a total disaster. First I get hit with a 503, then a 504. Now the document says it doesn't even contain any data? Absolute joke.
How much is this worth? in Miscellaneous ·
I've got a few old coins lying around, anyone know where I can take them to get a legit appraisal on what they're actually worth?

Look, personally, I actually like you. Seriously. 🙂 It’s just a shame that so much drama and useless noise gets dragged into this when it's something that could easily be avoided. It’s like a snowball effect... it starts because you annoyed someone, then people start bickering on Reddit... then a few more people notice... the cycle repeats... and suddenly, you get threads like this. The stuff you copy-paste actually has the potential to spark a high-quality discussion. They really do. The only thing missing from the whole equation is two, three, five, or seven sentences of your own regarding the topic... your actual opinion... the reasons why you even noticed the article and decided to share it in the first place. It doesn't need to be a 5,000-page dissertation. A brief introductory comment is plenty. If a text clearly cites its source and you provide a short or long commentary, nobody—and I mean absolutely nobody, no matter how much it irritates them—can stop you from participating in forum communication that way. In fact, they shouldn't, they have no reason to, and stubbornly complaining about it wouldn't be seen as a constructive critique; it would just look like personal antipathy. And that doesn't fly here.

I'm certain you posted every single article here precisely because you formed an opinion on it. Put that opinion in the post. If not for any other reason, do it so the debate can head toward your views and stances, rather than just being about whoever wrote the article. Let him promote his own work. 😉

Thanks a million! 🙂🙂

Richard James2 said:Look, I don't really follow those specific threads. 🤷 But honestly, I know you're capable of starting your own topic 😁>, so if you think some absolute garbage has spread like wildfire, just sit down, gather your thoughts, and frame it into a formal complaint thread or whatever. I don't know what else to tell you. Getting a ban isn't necessarily the end of the world.

thanks Linda! 🙂

Richard James2 said:Look, go ahead and complain, for crying out loud. 😁 File the report. When you think about those PDF issues at FOX, just remember how they handled that one employee—everyone was making a huge stink about it, and the guy basically got tossed under the bus. Don't go thinking this is some conspiracy against you or any kind of vendetta. It really isn't.

To quote Kelly Bundy, "I breast my case." Just do what you think is right. Honestly, I think you’ve already made it pretty clear exactly what's bothering everyone. Cheers.

btw. I get written up too! And it's brutal!

Now Linda is being vocal—just look at the threads for FOX, Discovery Channel, and ABC

For instance, over on the TV subreddit, everyone is constantly complaining about ironscout56, yet nobody actually does anything about it. The moderators there just sit back and let her behavior slide

I notice way too much on this forum to be complaining!

Richard James2 said:Alright, look, it’s probably best if we just go with that. Exclusively. Copycat. 😁Look, I didn't even say that. But let’s be real—when you start pumping out posts like that so blatantly, people notice. A huge chunk of the users on Reddit can see exactly what you're doing. And for God's sake, you don't need to swear on anything; stop overdoing it.

Look, you and c/p are basically like Wizard and his endless list of links. You take up so much space just to offer next to nothing in the way of actual opinions. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ve got nothing against you personally, but seriously, man—when you see a headline about a Bengal tiger vomiting in a zoo visitor's face, there is absolutely no reason to start a whole new thread just so it shows up on the board. Do what you want, obviously; I’m not a moderator here, thanx god for Small pleasures, but I'm telling you, it's unnecessary.

fine

Austin Baker86, please, just grant me a partial exemption from reality so I don't have to read my own posts anymore! thanx god for Small pleasures!

Richard James2 said:Sure, you managed to do that, fair enough. But let’s be real: just being a mindless copy-paste machine doesn't make you someone worth debating. Personally, I think—and hey, maybe I'm wrong here—that you're either just padding your post count or you have this burning desire to nail something on this board that looks interesting to you, despite having zero actual stance or expertise on the subject. Again, you and posts like yours aren't "discussion starters" simply because they even made it onto the board. If that's the case, what's the point of a forum? We might as well just scroll through news portals and call it a day. Adios.

Look, you don't need to take this personally. Your style really grinds my gears—you have this constant, blatant disregard for the rules—but that doesn't mean I’m going to start cursing you out or telling you where to go every time I see your username pop up. 😁

Henry Hernandez7, look, you don't need to be the spice in every single dish.

And I don't just post copy-pastes! Feel free to go check out my other posts!

I swear on everything holy that the whole point of those posts from the other site is to improve the discussion and nothing else! How many posts I have? That doesn't matter to me.

First, I got attacked over that invasive species thread, claiming I was just copy-pasting to make the thread hit three pages!

redviper32 said:Because, you know, the whole point of a forum isn't really meant to be about that, it's actually for sharing our own personal perspectives! And honestly, if you want to have a real exchange of ideas, well, you actually need some actual ideas to talk about, right? There aren't any in those links, I guess.

So what was I supposed to post instead:

"Hey guys, margarine causes aggression"

or maybe

"Did you know Americans throw away food?"

And honestly, I don't get why everyone's tripping over the Nine and Eurovision Song Contest thing! It was just an update saying the video drops Sunday, and since the morning news already leaked stills from the clip, if I had only posted that, it would look like that idiot Larry Walker24 was just dumping random pictures without any context!

Richard James2 said:This is straight-up disrespect at this point. They're basically treating the other members here and the mods like we're total idiots. Honestly, "at this point" is an understatement—it's been like this since the very second they decided to ignore that first warning and just kept doing the exact same thing. First it was one person, then another, now it's a pattern.

Either that, or we're all caught up in some incredibly bizarre, twisted joke.

Look, I'm literally dropping links to show where I'm getting my info! 😕

Everything I'm doing is just to get people talking.

Brian Edwards78 said:It’s telling me I was being abusive on Vogue, which is a total lie. They haven't even lifted my ban based on this fake stuff. Basically, the mods are still just making things up to justify doing whatever they want. Same old story. All that talk about "change" is nothing but a cheap marketing spin.

I've been banned for three years now because I kept giving one-sentence answers instead of "detailed explanations"—at least, that's the official excuse they give us.

God damn it! I don't even want to know what kind of crap they're writing about me.
That’s exactly why I stay up past midnight when I can actually browse in peace! Doing this during the day is a total waste of time.

Daniel Ward87 said:Parsifal,

I just finished chatting with the moderators over at Spirituality, and we all decided it’s time to lift your partial ban there. Just a heads-up though: the mods and admins don't really care about how many threads you start. What matters is how you act and the way you talk to people. Try to keep that in mind moving forward.

Alright, fine. So what's the deal with getting my partial ban lifted on History? I've been stuck with that one for three years now.
