Does anyone here actually understand if an apostolic administrator operates under the direct command of the Pope or if they have any actual freedom to act
Also, does anybody know anything about the "chaos" going on in that diocese and why there isn't a bishop in place right now
If my memory serves me—and it usually does, mostly--that’s the Klagenfurt-Gurk diocese, which has always been close with the one in Canada...
there won't be any war because those groups don't actually hold much power some of them are secularizing—losing their grip—while others just blend right in through marriage, basically washing away their identity. then you've got the majority, who are just being swallowed up by a dictatorship of pure relativism
all that's going to happen is more ghettos and more no-go zones...
what I’m actually curious about regarding the Kingdom of Sweden... is how a society functions when there isn't much cash floating around😁 how do the mobs operate without hard cash?
Honestly, in this day and age, movies just shouldn't run longer than 90 minutes. We aren't living in an era where people have nothing better to do than sit in a dark theater for hours on end.
Look, if you're talking about family entertainment—cartoons, comedies, those big superhero blockbusters—that's fine. That's okay.
But these... "artists"... they’re a hard pass for me. Keep the real stuff to 90 minutes for the theater, and if you want that 150-minute slog, save it for a Blu-ray at home.
Nymphomaniac felt like a total slog to me—way too slow...
As for Antichrist, I saw it in a theater and... yeah, it was okay, I guess.
Jack is fine, nothing special... though I honestly can't stand how modern movies have titles that imply they're over two hours long. I watched this one... over the course of three days 😁 It’s not that it’s a bad movie, it’s just that whenever I see those chapter headings, I tend to hit pause instead. Long story short: it's a good film, but it's way too long—it could easily lose at least 45 minutes and still work. 😁 7/10
Every time I see these gorgeous, smiling people everywhere... especially given the current state of the economy... it feels like total wishful thinking to me—but hey, I guess we'll see how things play out. I spent about 20 minutes watching some steampunk stuff—what's the term again?—and honestly, I wasn't even much of an animation fan, but there you go...
I mean, I could probably get into this... but you guys are overthinking things way too much 😁 as if we’re getting a hundred blockbuster movies dropped on us every month to just pick and choose from
The plot actually reminds me a bit of the invented world from those Christopher PRISTA books
I usually try to kick things off with maybe five different headlines mostly because we’re just talking about clickbait titles here... so it doesn't really matter much I catch actual movies while I'm commuting—like on the subway or something—but those moments are pretty rare so honestly, I don't mind if a movie takes three or four days to get through... life gets busy, you know? I just pick it up whenever I can grab a second if there's a break in my schedule and if it's just not hitting for me... I'll just delete it and move on to the next thing
It’s acting up again I had no idea this condition actually came in stages
So, where do I land on that scale? Back on November 28, 2018, I had bleeding And then yesterday... three separate times—one shot and two smaller ones Honestly, I'm pretty sure my diet is the culprit (dried meat... peanuts... sandwiches and pies, plus more meat)
My take on the book Honestly, maybe two or three chapters are actually worth the effort—the kind of stuff we probably touched on back in high school The rest? It’s really just for people who have a thing for Spanish linguistics or history buffs who want to nerd out reading it in the original language
I’ve burned through about 200 pages of this book so far, and honestly—I’m genuinely curious how they plan to adapt this thing when half the plot feels like filler—😁 it’d probably be better to just pick two or three decent chapters and build the whole movie around those rather than trying to cover everything.
Personally, I don't have any pain associated with them—but every two or three months, I'll deal with stool that looks like a total bloodbath otherwise, there can be stretches of six months where nothing happens... then just a tiny trace on the side
hemorrhoids tend to flare up and cause bleeding whenever they're triggered by outside factors... sitting for too many days straight... eating poorly for a few days if I'm not careful—like if I'm eating junk food out or snacking on peanuts or something extremely dry... and of course, there's the whole 225 pounds thing to consider
