Looking at these images it all feels too sterile to me... and we already know how it ends... I'm honestly not sure if I'll even get around to watching this one...
I don't know, I just have this gut feeling that things are going to turn out bad... those Nazi types always seem to find a way I was reading up on this specific incident—hopefully we're talking about the same guy here The man was so incredibly cocky about his own security that he’d just cruise around in an open-top car through various locations
I think I caught almost everything worth seeing—the major features, anyway—during that massive binge I went on over a decade ago... but somehow, I missed Golden Age. I really dug Angel of Destruction, Tristan la, Viridiana, and that subtle Charm... but Golden Age? It’s just way too surreal for me. Plus, trying to follow along with those audio commentaries explaining every little scene and plot point was honestly exhausting and pretty boring. Thank God it's only 62 minutes long.
I'll be honest... I just don't go hunting for expressionism or surrealism in movies anymore. Especially not in that specific era when things were transitioning from silent films to talkies. 5/10 Anyway, thanks, gotta run.
copperstag95 said:I didn't actually say that, per se. But, I suppose, the whole thing just felt a bit... much, if you know what I mean.
the car cooled down while coasting through the turns—he was cruising at 60 mph in neutral... and then he spent maybe 500 yards riding along with it
I actually rewatched it last night—it’s one of those movies you can just binge in one sitting My first rating back when I saw it at the local indie theater was an 8/10 Last night? A solid 10/10
I honestly thought it was a Great little movie I was totally sucked in from start to finish—actually watched it twice over two days just because I couldn't stop wondering where the hell it was heading next. My head was in a completely different place; I was fully expecting the kids to realize everyone was just some weird alien freak or that Mom was actually the one behind all the chaos... I was bracing myself for Little Red Riding Hood aliens, werewolves, zombies, the whole nine yards.😁
I definitely didn't see that twist coming, though I can't say I spent much time overanalyzing it. Honestly, it’s just nice to actually enjoy something for once... it feels pretty rare lately with the stuff I usually end up watching. The director is a straight-up legend—I was cracking up at his facial expressions and the way he delivers lines.
I mean, maybe the Predator uses some pretty weak weapons too... but I'm guessing a mob could probably take him down😁 with nothing more than forks and shovels
Personally, I’m more of a Weekend guy... though, honestly, I might be mixing that up with that Buñuel film where the characters are stuck in some endless loop, unable to actually get home or reach their destination—I can't quite recall the title...
I’ve been dodging this movie on my shelf for nearly a decade now, if you can believe it I honestly figured it would just be some messy hodgepodge of everything—a total mishmash—and, well, I guess I wasn't wrong So here I am, wasting my time, and I'm barely fifteen minutes in It's bad
Honestly, I thought the movie was actually pretty solid I really enjoyed it, to be fair And I can still vividly recall what I ended up watching a few months later 😁 which, compared to the absolute garbage they serve us nowadays, is actually a huge plus
