Exactly. I think there are plenty of people who have fallen for that kind of nonsense on social media, and honestly, they just end up cluttering up all sorts of different threads. You write something, you try to get a conversation going, and then—bam—you’ve got those little vultures circling, just waiting to peck away at you. They take a single sentence, rip it out of context, and start tearing at it, acting like they own your soul or something... It’s pathetic. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior doesn't just bother the person being targeted; it ends up being a nuisance for everyone else on the forum too. 🙂🙂🙂
Terry Davis40 said:I'm dealing with something pretty similar with one woman on this forum. And the best part? She refuses to respect my requests to just skip over my posts—she ignores me entirely. She claims she keeps track of my edited posts, and even the ones I've deleted. Honestly, I only deleted one where I called her out (and I did it immediately), mostly because I didn't want her breathing down my neck anymore. But apparently, she spends all day lurking on the site, watching my every move. 🤷For now, ignoring her is working, though sometimes I feel like just laying it all out for her. Then again, I realize her bitterness would probably just bounce back onto me—and I really don't need that kind of drama in my life right now.
That’s exactly how you should handle it. Because at the end of the day, does someone like that actually matter to you? No. Does their existence influence your actions, your behavior, your job, your bank account, your social circle, or any other part of your life? Not one bit.
The only thing they might touch is your mood in the moment—you know, that split second where you see some little parasite latching onto your coattails, especially if you aren't strong enough to resist the urge to check if they’ve left another nasty comment on your post. Then you feel that little flash of anger, a bit of bitterness, a hint of being insulted... and all of that combined creates this sudden impulse to just lay into them, even if it's just through a screen. It's a human reaction, honestly, provided you can learn to stop paying attention and just let it slide. You eventually just accept that there are idiots in this world, you make peace with it, and that's that. Plus, you get some practice in being indifferent and keeping a cool head, because, really, nothing catastrophic is actually happening. Even politicians trade insults in the news, or those social media influencers throw shade at each other over a dress or some knockoff bag. So why wouldn't a frustrated person on a forum feel the same when they sit down at their computer thinking their words hold all the wisdom in the universe, ha, ha...😂
Even among forum users, it's the same as in real life. There are intolerant, arrogant, insecure, paranoid, obsessive, notorious liars and pretenders... naturally. You just have to expect it. There are genuinely malicious people out there, lacking heart, logic, or tolerance. You deal with them by avoiding posting right after them; there's absolutely no need to answer their provocative questions or try to explain what the original poster was actually trying to say. It’s perfectly clear that they aren't interested in clarifying the topic, they just want to be toxic for the sake of it.🤷
The most pathetic thing to watch is when someone is discussing a serious topic—where it's obvious the person is struggling and everyone else is trying to be empathetic, offering advice or just a little comfort—and then some irrelevant jerk pops up to write condescendingly: "Oh, you're so stupid, go hide in a corner, you're talking nonsense because you're an idiot," and so on. How perceptive of them!😢 I'd love to just leave people like that hanging for a long, long time!🙂
Look, there have always been people who haven't actually accomplished anything in their own lives, so they spend their time meddling in everyone else's, even if it's just online. Every now and then, I get targeted by certain types who decide to dissect my posts, quoting half-sentences just to find something to complain about. I heard about one woman who genuinely believes I think she’s some guy’s mistress and that I’m acting out of jealousy, ha, ha😂... as if. She actually thinks I'm sending her random DMs out of some weird vendetta.
I've also had some idiot (judging by the username) send me half-baked, incoherent messages myself; honestly, the guy probably fell in love with my persona or my work, ha, ha. He kept obsessively sending me nonsense thinking he was commenting on my private life. He clearly missed the mark—either he got his facts wrong or he just completely misread the situation. It's obvious he was stalking me all over Google, found some old photos, and sent them to me, presumably just to show off how much effort he puts into being a creep!😂😂😂 Sure, he could have at least done me a favor and Photoshopped out the extra rolls and the greasy bacon bits, but I guess that was too much to ask🤣😁
When he finally crossed the line and got reckless, I reported him to the admins and they banned the account. But since the guy is clearly obsessed and paranoid, he’ll probably resurface soon under a new handle, just like the fifty other clones they've already blocked.☕
When it comes to doxxing or leaking personal info like that, I definitely recommend filing a serious complaint with the mods, and if that doesn't work, call the police. You can't just hide behind a Wi-Fi signal, an IP from a Starbucks, or whatever other technical gimmick you want to use. We all know which types on this forum are prone to this kind of idiocy. Usually, people only bother with this kind of nonsense if they're incredibly bitter because the other person was unbeatably rude, or if they're just some total nutjob.🤷☕
Jeremy Torres5 said:🙂 I'd give anything to see her happen by tomorrow... 😁
Sweetheart, it’s like you can actually reach through the screen and touch the present moment. It feels that way now, and I'm sure it'll stay that way. Thanks for the kind wishes.🙂🙂
Jeremy Torres5 said:Man, cosmictinker21 is playing in a different league entirely She clearly doesn't grasp how the NFL rules work 😂 😂 😂 But it’s honestly fascinating how she hits the exact same sour note in every single PDF she posts Someone really got under her skin 🤣 cosmictinker21, we love you... 😍
haha, look, if the question is whether I’m going to get blocked in the next thread, I was just answering the question. No, they aren't blocking me, and I have my reasons for thinking they won't. Besides, I'm not even remotely annoyed... well, maybe a little bit when it comes to sweet romance and stuff like that... 😍😍😍😉
Failures? You really think a bad connection counts as a failure?🤣
I mean, just look at it as a learning experience. At least you figure out which types of people to steer clear of in the future. Like, give them a massive wide berth...🤷☕
I try to be as reasonable as the situation calls for. Sometimes I overdo it and come off way too harsh, and other times I’m just foolish enough to let people walk all over me without saying a word...🤷
hollowbadger17 said:Motives for self-deception? There isn't an alternative. Or rather, there is no viable alternative.
In fact, most marriages from our parents' generation—take those unions formed back in the 1960s, for example—largely shared the characteristics of infidelity and dysfunction. The only difference was that people didn't divorce at the rates we see today; back then, it was considered perfectly normal for the man to hold all the power while the woman simply kept quiet.
I suspect it’s actually fear—fear of their own choices, wondering if they’ll trip up if they venture out into the unknown waters of freedom. Or maybe they're terrified things will just get worse. There's also that dread of the emotional void you feel when you walk away from whatever "object" you've been obsessing over; once you leave, you stop being a mere pawn in someone else's little drama, only to realize you haven't really existed as an independent subject all this time anyway. So yeah, I guess they're waiting for an alternative... which usually just shows up in an even uglier form...🤣
Eh, you see these people who stay trapped in miserable marriages for years, clinging to all these convenient little excuses they feed themselves and everyone else. It’s always the same script: the kids are too young, we’ve put in too much time together, what will the neighbors think, or the nightmare of splitting up assets in court... then there's the classic line: "we've been together forever, how could I just leave now?" Or maybe they're waiting until the kids finish school, or until the daughter is married off or the son is settled, and *then* they'll finally be free to live their lives—to find a lover or whatever. They act like they can't make a single decision because of work, aging parents, the house, or money...
And don't even get me started on the ones who aren't just dealing with emotional cruelty, but actual physical abuse, yet they still manage to stay in the relationship...🤷
I really wonder what the actual drivers are behind this self-deception—this turning a blind eye to reality and dragging out decisions indefinitely... Is it pure fear? Just spiritual inertia? Or are they just holding out for someone better, only to end up just moving from one seat to another?🙄
"Why even bother putting all this forward? Why not just walk away after a few humiliations? I figured if things worked out and she actually loved me, I’d get my life and my self-respect back—my sense of self. Or at least, I wouldn't feel like everything I sacrificed was for nothing. That's why I stayed. You invest so much of yourself that you can't bear to admit it's time to cut your losses and run like hell. It's like waiting thirty minutes for a bus in Chicago and thinking it's too stupid to start walking because surely it'll show up any second... except in this case, the bus might eventually arrive, but the lowlifes running the show aren't ever going to change."
Jesus, this takes me back to my own days of being an absolute idiot😢😵🙈🤦
Drew Morgan said:Our egos are constant liabilities—just mindless vanity making up problems where none exist. Your hurt stems solely from a bruised ego. Don't waste tears over it; that ego will eventually trip you up anyway, much like this situation you described. Just realize this: the guy wasn't interested, so let him go. Whether he has a girlfriend or not is irrelevant to your life. Once you grasp that, you'll actually grow. This setback is actually a win.
You’re fixated on him because, by your own admission, you were planning to dump him and he beat you to the punch.
Honestly, it doesn't matter. The main thing is that you finally got that jerk out of your life. It isn't really about pride or playing some kind of game; it's just about solving a problem. As for who dumped whom first... let the people obsessed with those little details have their fun, I guess.😁
Exactly. A partner needs to satisfy you on every level—emotionally, socially, intellectually, spiritually, and sexually. And when I say "satisfy," I’m not talking about some twisted S&M dynamic where one person thrives on crushing the other, while the victim just sits there hoping against hope that things will eventually improve because they think it’s all part of some grand, eternal "love." That’s not it. It’s about finding a harmony where disagreements get settled without the constant finger-pointing, the lingering resentment, the guilt trips, or people nitpicking every little thing just to be difficult. Which, let's face it, is exactly what pushovers allow their tormentors to do...
Sometimes, the aggressor doesn't even want to let go of the person they're using to prove their own power. If they did, they'd just be left feeling empty inside. So, if one person manages to walk away, they immediately start hunting for the next target. At the end of the day, both parties usually have a pretty warped idea of what love actually looks like. 🙂
silentpilot6 said:You know what truly baffles me? 🤣 It’s hearing people claim that these socialites were just following their hearts, even though their partners weren't particularly talented, charismatic, or even attractive... let alone great in bed. I could perhaps wrap my head around someone letting themselves be walked all over by a world-class supermodel who happens to be an Ivy League scholar and a total bombshell 😁... but many of these social climbers were being bossed around by the exact opposite. According to everything we read, some were even being dominated by guys who would struggle to find a date at a local dive bar, let alone in a high-end matchmaking service 😬
Man, and now people actually call that "love." It’s just pure, unadulterated masochism...
soul says: ".. I guess people in relationships actually know where the line is drawn..." Unfortunately, most don't even realize they crossed it ages ago. The second you start feeling insecure, uneasy, or living in constant fear of being unwanted or abandoned—or if you feel like your concerns are just dismissed as baseless complaints—that’s the sign that the relationship is fundamentally broken.
So, some idiot asks you about someone you were seeing a year ago. If you don't want to give them a play-by-play (because, honestly, it's none of their business), they decide to go on a private investigation mission to separate fact from fiction. Then, they feed into their own delusions and end up accusing you of lying because you didn't volunteer details about who you slept with... then, in a fit of righteous indignation because you're a "liar," they decide to punish you by giving you the silent treatment for a week. What is there to even say to someone like that? They're just a total loser, and you're done. Permanently.
A lot of people would probably try to de-escalate, explain themselves, or justify this ridiculous behavior as just "jealousy" or "fear of losing you." They’d spend all their energy trying to prove their innocence through logic, waiting around until the offended party finally decides to be merciful and sends a text. It’s such a pathetic cycle. You see right through it; they only love themselves and their own ego. And maybe a few other vultures are just sitting there, waiting for His Majesty to deign to grace them with his presence. And when he finally does, they act like they've won the lottery. God, we really are suckers sometimes... 🤣
Alright, let’s wrap this up: love isn't blind, but being infatuated? That definitely is. Love and infatuation aren't the same thing, regardless of how much people try to romanticize it. Real love is something that actually builds over time through shared experiences and life lived together. When you're just caught up in that initial rush, you're basically just living inside a projection of your own ideals... ☕ Honestly, if you haven't felt the distinction between the two by now, you're either totally inexperienced, too young and naive, or you've got some seriously skewed ideas about romance—which, frankly, could end up costing you quite a bit later on in life. 🙂
Sean Cruz said:I suspect Colour wasn't actually talking about the rabbit; I think they were using it as a metaphor for targeting children. 😉
Well, obviously there’s a difference between a rabbit and children... you don't really need to hint at that. But the point is that malice and selfishness don't care about methods, means, or targets when it comes to revenge. That’s exactly what we're looking at here—it isn't about love, it's just blind infatuation. Infatuation is just a distorted way of seeing reality. It's choosing whatever fits your own little narrative of how love is supposed to work.
The woman simply couldn't bridge the gap between her emotions and the actual situation. A grounded, realistic person would have objectively accepted the fact that he didn't need her as a lover anymore and just exited his life. But no, she wasn't interested in doing what was best for him (which is the essence of love)... she just wanted to vent her internal frustrations as a rejected woman by dreaming up, planning, and executing something malicious. She wanted to hurt him through others...
silentpilot6 said:By the way—there is no evidence that we are, in any capacity, 😁 responsible for the extinction of the Neanderthals.
Yeah, sure, they just succumbed to natural selection, apparently. Once the glaciers started retreating, they were stuck with way too much body hair and those oversized nasal passages... plus, I guess the mammoths ran out. It's all still being researched, you're right on that one.👍
Thanks, truly. May we all just soak up this late summer sun... for as long as it lasts.
That’s exactly why I brought up those classic literary masterpieces; they inhabit a space entirely different from our daily reality. Unfortunately, most of them seem to revolve strictly around romance, which is really just one thread woven into the larger tapestry of the book.
I find myself drifting back to books I finished ages ago, and every single time, I stumble upon something fresh... or at least a reminder of what I missed. It feels like reading a brand-new story.
In our culture, love is placed on this untouchable pedestal, yet so few people actually grasp its true essence. It’s just another pillar of social rigidity—much like the sanctity of motherhood, religious dogma, racial politics, or these stubborn prejudices regarding morality and pride. We're fed these ideas from the moment we can walk, and then we carry them around stubbornly and irrationally for decades, never bothering to question if they’re even true once we've grown up.
I remember listening to this guy once who was practically bragging about his "principles," even while everything around him was falling apart. As long as he stayed "principled," right? God forbid... I suppose someone's supposed to give him a standing ovation for that.🤣
Are principles actually more important than the goals themselves?
Take the rule that you shouldn't kill people, for example. Obviously, because otherwise, the entire human race would have wiped itself out, much like how Homo sapiens did to the Neanderthals. But honestly, if someone laid a hand on my child, I’d probably tear them apart with my bare hands... assuming, of course, I wasn't opting for a more legal route.
