Best OS for a college student? in Software ·
There we go.🙂

I’m currently studying mechanical engineering in Chicago, focusing on the Mechatronics and robotics track.
I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a new laptop, and I’m trying to figure out which operating system would be the best fit for my needs.
I know robotics involves a ton of programming, so I've heard Linux usually has the edge there.
But is Windows still a viable option for me? Am I going to miss out on anything critical if I go that route?
And what about just sticking with FreeDOS?

Also, I'm assuming I'll need to run CAD software like AutoCAD or Pro/ENGINEER on Linux?
Armageddon vs Deep Impact in Movies ·
Neither one works for me. Both movies are just packed with scientific nonsense and constant contradictions.
Rescue Sawn. I mean, Christian Bale is in it, so maybe there's actually something worth watching—even if the premise sounds pretty terrifying.
Hypocrisy, foul language, and judging people solely by their appearance.

So, I don't have any points on my record yet since my Violations haven't even been posted.

wooohooo🙂.
Mexicans just have a much wider variety of ways to find the back of the net... that’s definitely one of their advantages. We rarely use those behind-the-back shots.

I was actually expecting to hear Rudicev complain about the officiating. In our games, it's always the refs' fault.

And the saddest part is that you Industrial fans have probably never even heard real Industrial music. God help us!!

So, what exactly counts as "real" Industrial?
Yeah, they’re listening.
Is it disco or not? Honestly, it just depends on the artist. There isn't really one set definition for what counts as disco... at least not in my book.

Just finished watching the movie. It’s actually quite fun and genuinely funny. The cast is solid, too.

Farrell🙏.

briskhound2 said:Actually, that's how he dies. 😉But yeah, you're right—the first one is great at that. That kitchen scene actually had me looking over my shoulder while making coffee for the next few days.

Fair point... you're right, I mixed up the kitchen scene with the shower one.

It actually can't happen, but honestly, the biggest issue is you could just jam a stick in those little cracks where the door seals to "trick" the microwave into thinking it's shut. I'm just dying to know if the guy is paralyzed from the radiation or what... 🤷

I find it hard to believe he was paralyzed by radiation. Is that even physically possible?
I suspect he might have been given some kind of injection to induce paralysis, or something along those lines...

I practically have to seal my microwave shut at home just to get it to turn on😁.

I’m talking about the beginning. Please... Like I mentioned before, this sequel seems obsessed with making everything look as spectacular as possible. To me, it just feels silly. The first movie was the gold standard; they really should have used that as their blueprint. Take that death scene in the original, for instance—where that woman ends up choking because a shower curtain cord gets tangled around her neck through a freak series of accidents. To me, that is what a true Final Destination death looks like.

I’ve always been a fan of the franchise, but honestly, only when it comes to the first two movies. I just watched this trailer, and that one death—where the guy is mowing the lawn and a stone flies off the mower and hits a woman right in the back of the head? It felt pretty pointless to me.🙄

I think the whole gimmick with this series is making the deaths look spectacular rather than actually scary or tense.
Hey.

I’ve got a few Wumpscut albums saved on my hard drive, but I realized I don't actually have the one featuring Fear in Motion. I think I'll download it just to see what the hype is about.

I'm also pretty big on zombie Girl. Actually, I'm listening to the album Back fra The deap right now.

Tnx for the suggestions.🙂.

pzychobitch is solid😁.Especially that maschinerie stuff.

Also, I found out that wumpscut leans into anti-religious themes, and some of their tracks touch on global issues caused by human interference (like wreath of barbs).
We touched on who covers which topics briefly earlier in the thread..

Could someone give me a bit more detail on how bands approach specific themes? For instance, I know Hocico focuses heavily on Mexico... but I'm curious about others. Which groups lean into anti-religious lyrics, the whole 666 aesthetic, or dive deep into social issues and things like that?
PVC Mantilu😁....Their hairstyles are honestly something else. I used to think nothing could top that massive blowout party hosted by George Washington, but clearly, I was wrong.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of New York City; it feels a bit too shallow for me. And her face looks like some teenager straight out of a teen movie... wait, hold on, what are we even debating here??😁

I’ve actually been listening to Hocico a lot lately. Sure, they aren't much to look at (not even a surgeon like Glumičić could fix that), but their Memorias Altras album is absolutely masterful. "A Fatal Desire," "Blindfold," "Spirals of Time"... some truly incredible tracks!

Yeah, you’ll probably end up being hounded by the cops, unless Donald Trump happens to be your uncle. And if you decide to flee the country, then you'll have the FBI breathing down your neck.
I can't seem to shake this song from my mind today.
