Ronald Peterson10 said:Someone please help me, for the love of Bog. I’m not even on Windows 7 XP, but my screen just flipped upside down and I have no idea how to fix it. I'm literally looking at everything sideways right now. If anyone can help, please—I used to know the shortcut for this, but my brain is totally blanking.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Up Arrow. If that doesn't kick it into gear, just head straight into your graphics card settings and find the Rotate option. 🙄

Did you actually run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before installing the new OS to see if there were any potential "issues"?
Is the graphics card really the only thing acting up?

Right now, I've got Windows XP home edition running on the external drive. If anyone knows, please write back or shoot me an email at adresaregistracija@gmail.com

Any ideas what this could be?

Maybe try asking over in the "IT Help & Security" subforum (link) 😉instead.

It's an unfinished product. If you've been using Windows update regularly up until now, there's zero reason to rush; just wait for the official release.

Justin Gray81 said:Everything works fine with the power button... I just don't want the damn thing waking up from standby every time I nudge my mouse. That's it. 😉

Hit Start, go to Control Panel, then System and Security, click System, and open Device Manager (or just hit the Start button and start typing "device manager").

Double-click on "Mice and other pointing devices," then double-click the mouse itself. Once you're in Properties, head over to the Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow this device to wake the computer."

P.S. I can't seem to find that Power Management tab. It might be because I'm running Windows 7 inside VMWare Fusion; if you installed Windows 7 on a standard machine, the Power Management tab should show up for you.

I'm currently stuck working on Windows XP at the office, but this might actually be useful:

Same here (running Windows 7 Ultimate). I've only got that latest Defender update installed, but I'm expecting the next one any day now. I haven't seen any updates on this yet..

SP1 RC isn't even coming from Windows Update; it's actually... I'm here..

According to Wikipedia...:
A "release candidate" (RC) basically means you’re looking at a build that has everything it needs to become the finished product. It's essentially the final dress rehearsal before the official launch. It's ready for takeoff—unless some catastrophic bug decides to crash the party at the last second. We’ve reached the product stabilization phase. At this point, every single feature has already been fully designed, coded, and put through the ringer during one or more beta cycles with... There aren't any known showstoppers currently on the radar.."

Alright, let's get to work. Go get 'em. 😁

Exactly. Newer versions of Windows (mostly)automatically recognize the hardware you've got. If they don't,... 😉

Mark Anderson6 said:Hey everyone, I need some help. I downloaded a Windows 10 ISO and burned it onto a DVD, but when I put it in my computer, nothing happens. I already went into the BIOS and set the DVD drive as the primary boot device, but it still won't start. Any ideas?

The DVD/ISO has to be "bootable." What software did you use to burn it, and how exactly did you do it? 🤔

Jacob Foster11 said:I go into properties, change something—including "Connect automatically"—hit OK, and the window just closes. When I reopen properties, nothing has changed.

I tried deleting the network. Nothing. Tried moving it down the list. Nothing. Moved the other one up. Nothing. The other one is active. I’ve had multiple profiles set up before and they all worked fine. I could edit them, delete them, or move them (except for the top one, which is stuck). But with this specific "uuu" network, I can't do a single thing.

Haven't tried it yet... Would Safe Mode work? Or maybe there's a way to wipe it through the registry or something? 🤷

After making those changes in Properties, deleting, or moving things around, did you try restarting your computer?

Maybe this will help:
"I was able to delete a wireless network, but only by using Regedit to delete all registry references to the SSID, then rebooting and deleting the network from the list of Wireless Networks." (link; see the last post)

dustybear9 said:Hey guys, what's up? Through some weird stroke of luck, I recently became the unfortunate owner of a Dell laptop. In my opinion, it's just a heap of cheap plastic, and even though it works okay, I'm pretty skeptical about it. Regardless, I use the hibernate option very often because it's convenient; when I turn the computer on, all my apps are right there so I don't waste time reopening everything. It worked perfectly on every previous computer I've owned, but on this one, it works sometimes and other times I get that Blue Screen (which obviously isn't good), saying something about "dumping physical memory" or whatever, and then it asks if I want to "start Windows normally." I don't really get it. I heard hardware might be the cause?? Hope you guys can help me out!! Thanks!!

Try this approach: pull out the graphics card (assuming there isn't some integrated chip on the motherboard?), reinstall Windows 7, pop the card back in, and then install the appropriate driver. 😉

Desktop processor, desktop graphics card with properly matched Win7 drivers (32-bit or 64-bit). Is this your first time running into this, or have you already attempted to install a week of updates?
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
The OS might be picking up the GPU, but it looks like the driver is hitting a snag during the load process. Which card are you running?

By the way, instead of starting a whole new thread, just drop your question here. 😉
