What's the actual benefit of moving to 7?

Here is a quick breakdown:

Which ones? Give me some titles. 🤔

There are two different versions of Webcam Express out there. One includes a driver specifically for Windows 7, while the other doesn't. If you're interested, go ahead and grab it—just make sure you check whether you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows first. 😉

You can grab the Windows Live Mail software here. Just pick your language and hit "Download now"

To access the Windows Live service, go here or just use the link above (look for "Sign in" in the top right corner); once you're logged in, you'll see the interface language listed at the bottom right, and it's easy enough to change

How do I stop this from happening in Microsoft Word:

Basically, when I copied these sentences into a table, part of the text disappeared—it's hidden behind the cell border. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know ASAP. I need to have this printed in an hour.😢

Place your cursor to the left of the table, click, select the entire table (both columns), right-click, then select Merge Cells.

That should do it.🙄

Douglas Garcia52 said:When I try to run a restore, there’s nowhere to pick a specific date like back in the Windows XP days.
I go into System Restore and it just does its thing—from what I can tell, it just rolls the computer back about 24 hours.

Go to Start, type "restore" (no quotes needed), click System Restore, hit Next, then click "more restore points," and hit Next again...

Those "restore points" are basically just snapshots of events that changed the system. That’s why you need the System Restore function in the first place—to quickly roll back to a previous state if things go sideways.

I'll get it sorted out today.
👍

😕

How on earth did you manage to run a System Restore without first setting a Restore Point or picking a date when the system actually worked? 🤔

The Dell, for instance, lacks a DVI port, while the ViewSonic has one.

Larry Morales34 said:I'm planning on installing Windows 7 soon and I'm wondering if all my programs and files will be wiped out during the process, or if there's a way to save them. I know you can either upgrade or do a fresh install. What's the actual difference, and which one is better? 😕

Look, there’s already a massive amount of info here regarding upgrading or doing a fresh install from Windows XP or Vista to Windows 7. We've got over 90 pages and more than 3,600 posts covering this exact topic over the last 20 months. The general consensus? Go with a "clean install." Don't bother with an upgrade. Regardless of which route you take, do yourself a favor and back up everything important from your current system (like your My Documents folder, or wherever you keep your stuff) before you touch anything. You can find more details here. 🙂

If anything is still unclear, just ask. 😉
