Some similar data was released last week, but here we go again—the official press release sent out via email by the CDC just an hour ago:

Available flu vaccine supplies for the 2020/2021 season.

Due to higher than expected public interest, 460,000 doses of the flu vaccine were procured this year, which is slightly more than what was originally projected at the start of the year.

Basically, back in January, doctors were asked to estimate their needs for this fall based on patient response rates. That request totaled 449,300 doses, while 460,000 doses have been secured. Furthermore, because this surge in interest wasn't anticipated in January, an additional order for 130,000 doses is currently underway.

Most of the vaccines being distributed are going to family practitioners. So far, 220,000 doses have been sent out, with the remaining 240,000 scheduled for distribution over the next week. We expect those extra 130,000 doses to arrive in early December.

Because of how the rollout is moving, anyone looking to get vaccinated might not be able to do so until next week or early November. If you don't manage to get it in November, you can still get vaccinated once the additional supplies arrive in December.

We want to emphasize that it isn't too late to get your flu shot in November or December. There’s no need to pressure doctors over the next few days, as they only have a portion of the total supply on hand right now.

That figure isn't just some wild hallucination from a bad trip; it’s the exact number they explicitly announced is on the way. The only uncertainty is whether that might apply to a final batch of 30,000 doses due to timing, but otherwise, the rest is expected shortly. To quote:

Given that the news reported just a few days ago that they ordered a total of 590,000 doses, this prioritization seems a bit strange... especially since they're leaving out people who usually qualify for free shots and have been getting them regularly...

At some clinics in New York City (I'm fairly certain about one), they were turning away people at higher risk due to their age because they didn't have enough supply on hand. This was back in mid-September when everyone was trying to get their appointments scheduled early...

It isn't hers, but it is private. As such, the owner can decide what they want to promote and what they don't. It’s just not possible. The last time he posted here, he didn't come across as someone with special needs, so if that's what he wants, he can request it himself without needing a lawyer. Besides, since you’re familiar with the procedures—or at least should be—using this thread this way is pretty unprofessional... both toward the original poster and the moderators.

The moderators can't help there. If a user has their private messages turned off, that applies to the mods too. Even the supermods... The only exception is the admin, Nika, but she isn't online at the moment.

The bill just proves they provided a service; it doesn't prove whatever scenario you're imagining actually happened. A person's opinion only carries weight if they're a licensed dentist who has physically examined your teeth. It's all hearsay until a surgeon or dentist takes a look and orders an X-ray if they suspect an issue. There's no point in posting photos here because no one can give you a real answer. This isn't a dental clinic equipped with diagnostic tools, and you certainly can't file a lawsuit based on the opinions of people on a forum or even the neighbors over at Milka...

If you're dealing with what you think is happening, heading to the ER is a smart move to prevent painful or dangerous complications.

Maybe it would be better to have someone take a look at it first and handle any necessary repairs? It might prevent some bigger headaches down the road if things aren't handled correctly from the start. Then you can worry about all those legal battles and lawsuits...

Just a quick note on the technical side of things—moderators don't actually send out card notifications manually. The system is set up to trigger an automatic message whenever a card is issued.

If a user has their private messages turned off, they'll still receive these automated card alerts, but moderators won't be able to reach them directly...

Links. The moderators are asking for links because without them, it’s impossible to tell which threads these posts belong to, making it hard to find the actual discussions once things get sorted out...

There hasn't been any rabies reported in the US lately. The last known instance was back in 2014 involving a fox.

fadedbear92, from what I know about Sam Green73, his question comes from a good place. Someone stepping in as a new moderator on an American forum can't possibly know all the internal dynamics or how everyone interacts yet. If posts are being flagged and he isn't sure why they're an issue, it’s only logical to ask before deciding how to step in... Even having moderated an American forum myself for over five years until just six months ago, I haven't been active enough lately to understand the current vibe or the relationships here. If those posts had been flagged for me, I’d be asking the same thing. It’s the context behind the words that matters most, not just the words themselves.

Regarding the reports, they haven't been coming through for a few days now, since late last week, but things should settle down soon. Usually, we see reports for posts that have been up for at least 24 hours.

And, sorry to jump in, but I really just wanted to help. I’d hate to see this conversation turn sour... It seems to me you both mean well.

Just a quick correction—lonebadger6 has been a moderator over at Television for just over three years now, and they took on the moderator role for Politics about six months after that.

I don't even need to prove myself; everything I'm mentioning is right there for anyone with access to the PDF and search tool to see.

As far as I'm concerned, this discussion is over.

You were warned in one of your many threads for flooding the ban corner, and you were told that if this behavior continued, a partial ban would follow. You kept doing it anyway, and a few days later, the partial ban was issued. As a moderator for that PDF, I can tell you right now that this decision isn't being overturned; your communication style there has been consistently combative and disrespectful. When a partial ban is applied to a specific PDF, it automatically extends to all related sub-forums, including the ban corner in this case.
