Lost Highway🤔
Honestly, when things go south—like watching a terrible play at a Dallas Cowboys game—I get so heated I just want to swear at God or someone's mother.

But sexual jokes? Most of the time, they're just exhausting, along with anything else that feels forced or tries way too hard. It’s not like you can shock anyone with that stuff anymore, and let’s be real, hardly anyone (especially guys) actually pulls it off with any class. For me, it's all about the style, the spontaneity, and the timing. If someone actually nails it, I'll laugh, but those moments are pretty rare.
Blockbuster or Indie? in Movies ·
Honestly, I dread a trashy blockbuster just as much as some pretentious art house flick where I have to hunt for the plot—it's exhausting. At the end of the day, I just want a good movie, regardless of what genre it falls under.
What does Psychic mean to you? in Psychology & Therapy ·
Honestly, I lurk in this sub-Reddit all the time even though I rarely post. I just like to think that those few serious posts I force myself to write might actually help someone out there. Out of pure curiosity, I end up scrolling through threads that aren't even my thing—just picking up bits and pieces along the way. Aside from enjoying the vibes from certain users, I really dig the overall atmosphere here in 'Psychic'. What probably bugs me most about other forums and the internet in general is how toxic things can get, but they’ve totally nipped that in the bud here—which is why this is easily my favorite, best-moderated corner of the site. It honestly just keeps me calm.
Dealing with annoying neighbors in Psychology & Therapy ·
Honestly, I’d take sex over those unruly brats running around all day kicking balls against the walls. The neighbors downstairs used to make such a racket I thought they were trying to tunnel their way up to me—just waiting for a hole to pop through the floor like some cartoon. And man, the neighbor looks like she weighs about 1,600 lbs... pretty sure she hasn't seen action since before she had the kid.

I don't think it would bother me *that* much, but who knows? I can't hear anything besides the constant thudding of the ball and the heavy breathing of a guy who looks like he's having a heart attack just walking up a single flight of stairs.
Look, there’s nothing harsh about saying this—if anything, it’s something every parent needs to hear, especially those who treat raising kids like they're just picking out a kitten instead of taking on the most massive responsibility an adult can ever face.

At the end of the day, not everyone is cut out for it. I'll be the first to admit it: kids just aren't my thing, and I don't see myself as a father at all. I don't feel capable of it, and honestly, I don't see why that's an issue. It would actually be better if more people were self-aware enough to realize that. Instead, you have someone who has seven kids and then suddenly there's a flyer in your mailbox asking for donations because they can't make ends meet. They should be focusing on raising their kids, not struggling to take care of themselves.

To me, it's just mind-blowing. I’m the type of person who rarely jumps into anything without overthinking it and running through every scenario in my head a dozen times first. I mean, I practically analyze my grocery list three times before hitting the checkout, so seeing how easily some people just "dive in" to having kids is totally baffling to me.

If someone has nothing to offer their children—no stability, no lessons to teach, and they're already a total mess themselves—it might be better if they didn't have them in the first place. Seriously, get a cat or a dog instead; it’s a much smaller mistake than messing up a child's life.

This would actually be such an interesting topic—like, what’s the line when you’re picking someone to spend your life with? What’s a dealbreaker and what isn't? It feels like you can toss aside a perfectly healthy person for a million different reasons and nobody gives you a second look... but if it's about chronic illness, suddenly you have to just deal with it or else you're some kind of monster. Everything else is fair game, but health is the one thing that ☕

I'm not saying I'm defending him, but it feels pretty hypocritical to call Dennis Patel5 a piece of crap when we all accept so much other stuff as totally normal and tolerate it from everyone around us.
How do you deal with the horrors you see and hear? in Psychology & Therapy ·
I honestly don't think people just stopped caring—it's more like they're being pushed into this survival mode where they're basically just treading water. They’ve reached a point where they don't believe fighting for any "higher purpose" is worth the tiny bit of energy left after grinding through work all day. Honestly, the vibe in America right now is such that people feel like they have no choice but to keep their heads down—especially when the government feels like the absolute last thing anyone wants to deal with.

Just looking at the people around me lately... with everyone getting totally screwed by these endless tax hikes, inflation, and insane new regulations, it feels like there's zero juice left for the "big picture" stuff. You can't just grind people into the dirt, pile on a hundred different stressors, strip away their hope for a better future, and then act surprised when they aren't out there being activists. It's impossible—kind of like trying to pair up depression with actual motivation.

Take the homeless or the beggars, for example... if they're still out on the streets despite all these massive institutions and agencies, then man, I doubt my $1.75 is gonna move the needle much. I'm not making excuses, but I really think that's what's going through the head of every person walking by—they just see them as part of the scenery, like they're invisible.

Joseph Bailey41 said:Doesn't politics drive you crazy? It absolutely terrifies me. I only ever open one specific thread there. Everything else just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously, it feels like walking into a dive bar that smells like stale smoke and... well, worse. 👎

I have three partials, but I didn't go looking for them. Well, okay, maybe I did, indirectly. 🤣

It's less active than some other subreddits, probably because I also mostly hang out in one specific thread (likely the same one you're reading). Honestly, even that "politics-adjacent" PDF is more interesting than the main feed, but whatever—I get what you mean.

my guess: spirituality, DZ, and maybe... alternative stuff? 🤔

blueotter28 said:I only check the news if there’s a trending topic that actually catches my interest, which usually means reading about things going wrong in society. I feel like I need to stay informed about the dark stuff that could actually affect me—you know, like how certain corporations exploit their workers, hospitals acting completely inhumane, or just the sheer level of sadistic lunatics out there who abuse animals... It’s disturbing. I also find myself drawn to stories about toxic relationships and why they happen; let's face it, not everyone is a good person, and some people are just straight-up evil. You can't really avoid it unless you decide to move to a deserted island or go work on some remote ranch somewhere.

Honestly, I don't handle it very well. Not long ago, there was a report about a man dying due to negligence by an employee at a government agency, so I started Googling to see if that was an isolated incident, and I ended up finding things that were way worse. It totally ruined my weekend...

or like, when a group of Americans gets a slap on the wrist after beating Luke Ritz because they're all part of the same crowd, getting light sentences just because of their hair color or the music they vibe to—and you're sitting there wondering when justice will actually catch up to people like us... 🎉ignorance is bliss.

It’s actually easier to just list what I’ve got left—mostly politics, US history, psychology, Philosophy, spirituality, religion, social sciences, plus movies and sci-fi. I’ve already knocked out the rest with partial credit.

I kept a few of them on my list just for kicks—you know, things to flip through when I can't sleep—but that's about it. Like US history, religion, Philosophy, and sci-fi... though honestly, I doubt I'll ever actually write anything for Philosophy. Still, sometimes you just crave that kind of deep read.

There’s this Bergman's movie about a guy who just loses it when he finds out the Chinese are building an atomic bomb—he can't handle the weight of it. His wife is pregnant and loves him, but it doesn't matter; his faith in civilization is so shattered by the bomb that he ends up taking his own life. This whole topic kind of hit me with those same vibes.

In my other thread, I mentioned how this weird emotional numbness basically protects me from stressing over stuff like the riots in Paris or things totally out of my control. I can't even say I feel bad, because honestly, I don't really feel regret anymore. Still, some things manage to slip through that armor, so I've realized it's better to be picky about what I let in. Nowadays, it's mostly the shallow, primitive stuff that gets under my skin—specifically "stupid" people who aren't even bothered by the fact that they're being clueless. All the emoji-only chats, the spam, the total lack of depth, and people just acting on impulse without thinking twice about what they're saying...

I gotta admit, I'm partly to blame here too, since I sometimes find myself wondering just how low things can go—so I keep reading and watching instead of just tuning it all out. It's like when you're driving and see a dead cat on the road; you know exactly what it's gonna look like, but you still slow down, stare, and then regret looking.

A bit of mental blocking is actually what works best for me. I stay away from news sites except for sports, and here on the forum, I even asked Carl Cox3 to filter out everything except the threads where this kind of mindless chatter is impossible. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it actually works.

Honestly, I don't even think this guy has a mental health issue—more like he’s just shallow and superficial, though even then, I don't see why everyone is making such a massive drama out of it. Otherwise, we could call anyone who abandons a disabled person or someone dealing with any kind of illness a ________ .

Take my neighbor upstairs, for instance. He walked out on his wife and three kids a year after she recovered from a stroke. She can barely walk, let alone handle anything complicated, so the kids basically have to help her with grocery runs and stuff like that. It's tragic, but hey—some people just can't handle the daily grind of caring for someone who's sick. The guy just packed up and moved out.

It's good that the guy is at least having second thoughts, I guess, but there's really no point in staying out of pure pity—she'll definitely see right through that. Especially if he’s already started looking at other women.

Honestly, you’ve gotta put your own happiness first—it’s not about worrying over the fallout or the hurt the other person might feel if you walk away.

If you stay, that resentment is just going to fester, and let's be real—you won't be able to make her happy if you're miserable anyway. Plus, you mentioned there's already someone else catching your eye... IMO, breaking it off seems like the only logical move here, though obviously, nobody on the internet can make your life decisions for you.

And yeah, get ready for a total bloodbath from the ladies on this forum and all those classic "you deserve better" comments. ☕
Look, I know it sounds super insensitive to say this to someone feeling this lonely, but seriously—try not to tie your entire sense of happiness to whether or not you're in a relationship. I know so many people out there who are single, and honestly? They’re in a way better spot than you right now... so logically, they should feel even worse about having "better cards" while still being alone, right? But they aren't.

I mean, it seems like some of them don't even care—because let's face it, some people actually thrive being solo. I guess they just found purpose in other stuff, or maybe they just have a totally different mindset toward being single without closing the door on dating later on.

I’m not trying to give you that "everyone goes through this" cliché to make you feel better, I just want you to realize that even if things change, you're totally normal—and you'll probably end up right back at that first sentence anyway.
Picnic at Hanging Rock, if we're counting that one.
I’d also throw in:

🙏
Predator (1987), The Thing.
Totally agree—I honestly don't get why everyone is making such a huge deal out of it. Aside from the newer stuff, I’ve got a massive backlog of classics I haven't even touched yet... I could boycott every single new release for two years straight and still not catch up.

If superheroes aren't his thing, hey, whatever—he should just stick to what he actually likes. It's not like anyone's life is ruined because of those four or five movies that come out every year.
Windows boot issues in IT Support ·
Yeah, that’s exactly what went down—and man, I didn't even suspect the bootloader was going to be such a massive headache. Hiren's tool fixed everything in a heartbeat, which was honestly the first and last time I ever had to touch it, but hey—maybe among those million different tools there's something that could help rustytrucker37 out. Probably not, but what's the harm in trying? He probably just nuked it and reinstalled Windows already anyway.
Windows boot issues in IT Support ·
Maybe give Hiren's BootCD a shot too - https://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

A few years back, I ran into this nightmare with my Windows 7 / Linux dual boot setup—basically, once I wiped the Linux partition, my Windows drive just went totally MIA. Hiren's had this killer tool on it that let me recover that Windows partition without any drama, though I can't recall the exact name since that CD is packed with everything under the sun.

Look, your issue isn't an exact match to what happened to me, but honestly? It's worth a shot—nothing to lose, right? Just grab another PC if you need to download it and burn it to a disc.
