2013 Car Reveal & Winter Testing Kickoff in Formula 1 ·
I might be making a bit of a fool of myself here, but... 😵

Everyone keeps bringing up the pull rod suspension. Could someone give me a more detailed breakdown? I’m trying to wrap my head around the main difference between a pull rod and that other setup—I can't even remember the name... 🙈

What exactly are we talking about here? 🙈 🙈

Maybe you could weigh in, Jason Campbell70? Or anyone else feeling generous?

Oh, please; they’ve completely lost the plot. Whether you call it a stumble or a total collapse, they haven't touched a championship title in years. 🙂
Fernando, man, what on earth were you thinking!? 🤦

It won't be that simple for them to climb out of this hole. 🙂

It’s a bit unsettling, honestly. I can't help but worry we’ll show up to the season opener with a car that fails to deliver on its race simulations—exactly the kind of headache we dealt with last year.

Goodness, honestly. 🤦 It really makes you wonder—do they honestly have to constantly reinvent themselves or scramble for new gimmicks just to keep pace with the competition? 🙂
What a total disaster. Are we officially entering panic mode yet? 🙂

If you have a grievance, please direct it to the appropriate forum designed for such discussions. Quite frankly, Wayout and I are exercising a great deal of patience here, and I truly believe we can all coexist peacefully while enjoying Formula 1 together. 🙏

May your tolerance grow. And may it endure. Both your tolerance and our coexistence.
Cheers to the moderators of this democratic branch of the mighty www.forum.com!

Fine, I promise I won't go after the users here, but poking fun at drivers, mechanics, designers, or team bosses—in a classy, stylistic way—is a compromise I’m totally willing to make.

Anyway, stop nitpicking and just watch some Can-Am 🙂

Give me a break.

Joe, I’m right there with you. Honestly, I hear what you're saying and I've got your back. I’m not trying to start some exclusive club or a clique by backing you up; I just think we should all feel free to hang out here. At the end of the day, we need to be tolerant and show respect to everyone else in the group. www.forum.hr...within his sports division.
Your way of speaking seems much more refined now, even if it wasn't during your whole "reincarnation as Joe" phase. It’s all part of the learning process, dear Joe. I’m not trying to lecture you or anyone else here—I certainly don't have that kind of authority. How you all choose to interpret my thoughts, my words, or my feelings on this server is entirely up to you.

I’m just here to have some fun, and for the most part, I come to this place in good spirits and looking for peace. Think of me as someone driven by a poetic spirit and a love for racing. Anyway, enough rambling from me.
When does this Daytona 24 actually take place? Does anyone have the dates handy? I'd rather not spend my afternoon digging through Google searches right now.

Honestly, I am absolutely livid with this Lotus crew. Is anyone else seeing this madness?
First, you have that reckless driver who clearly hasn't learned a thing, and now this absolute clown knocks the championship leader out in the very first turn.

What on earth was Kimi thinking today by forcing the line on the left, since he was clearly losing pace ? What was his thought process there, if he even had one?

Alonso was clinical. He wasn't pushing him; he was simply faster, and the track narrowed, leaving no room on the right. Kimi only caught spray once Alonso had already pulled well ahead. I don't see a single mistake from him.
I'm fuming. I feel like hitting my head against a wall.

Oh, Kimi... what were you thinking? 🤦

Such a massive disappointment for Fernando Alonso... truly Velikaaaaaaaaa... I know I sound pathetic, but this could have been a turning point for the championship. Where is Ferrari going to find the speed to let the Spaniard go toe-to-toe with Sebastian Vettel's Red Bull for the final five races of the season? 🤷

The championship is basically decided at this point...

I just can't find anyone in today's lineup who even comes close; he was truly one of a kind.
😁

Ah, those were the days. 🙂 Back when Jacques Villeneuve was tearing it up on the NASCAR grid. Pure nostalgia.

And boy, did he love to talk trash to anyone who would listen...🙏🙏 Too good...

Michael Lee4 said:Are you actually being serious? 🤔

I've been following NASCAR for ages, and I honestly can't recall a single rookie who caused this much havoc.

Paaaa... you could say the exact same thing about Pastor. Maybe I'm speaking prematurely—to give a more grounded argument, I really ought to dig through some archives and look back at your previous posts, but right now I'm just going off memory—but you don't seem to throw nearly as much criticism at the Venezuelan driver as you do at the Frenchman (who isn't even that young to be looking for a fresh start in NASCAR). Roman is fast, sure, but he’s also overly optimistic. It reminds me of how Takumi Sato used to be. However, despite having a relatively short NASCAR career, that Japanese man matured into one of the best Japanese drivers to ever grace the NASCAR grid. Why couldn't Roman become much better and more composed after a full season in NASCAR? He won't be the next Alain Prost, but if he turns out to be as talented as Didier Pironi or Jean Alesi, then staying in the sport is perfectly fine.

Michael Lee4 said:We really ought to send Grožan on vacation until the season wraps up. It’s only fair that the rest of the guys get a chance to actually race without constantly looking over their shoulders, worrying about when a rocket might come flying out of nowhere. ☕

I don't quite get why everyone is being so hard on Roman! He’s still just a rookie in the NASCAR grid. When you look at it objectively, he’s got way less experience under his belt than Sergio Perez, wouldn't you agree?

Felipe Massa is going bald.

It actually just reminded me why I’m such a fan of Felipe. He’s a real human being who isn't afraid to show emotion—I can still picture those intense moments back in the US in 2008 and all his other heartfelt outbursts. It feels like Seb Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and especially Mark Webber treat all this glory with such a cold, detached attitude. 🤮 It’s almost as if winning comes naturally to them without any effort!

Here is my take on it;
There is a genuine soul in Felipe. Remember how warmly he greeted Kamui? He gave him a friendly tap on the helmet and pulled him close after he climbed out of the car (since Kamui was clearly shaken and had wandered off toward his mechanics).
Compare that to Seb, who stood on the podium and mentioned remembering Kamui from their Formula 3 days, but he said it so hollowly, like he was just checking a box during an interview. That was it.

Felipe, please, for the sake of Bog and LdM, stay with Ferrari through 2013 (or at least stay in Formula 1)! At the end of the day, I’d much rather watch drivers who are actual people than just cold, calculating machines... 🙂

Raymond Anderson4 said:You definitely realize you're flirting with disaster with that combo, but I really hope it doesn't play out that way.😁.
Besides, the Lotus is quick and Roman is fast... if he gets a decent start, he could easily grab a podium spot.

I hear you... 😁
Still, I'm crossing my fingers that things don't go south like that.

Seeing Kamui take the win would honestly make my day.😁

Grid:

3. Kamui Kobayashi
4. Romain Grosjean
5. Sergio Perez

What does this lineup bring to mind for you? 😁
Grace Barnes said:It’s true that within the current driver lineup, there isn't anyone better than Fernando Alonso,
but he really does have an incredible amount of luck on his side. His only real setback this season was when
Romain Grosjean took him out, though Lewis Hamilton suffered the exact same fate then,
and in all the other races, Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel faced much tougher struggles.
As if it wasn't enough that Hamilton had to retire today, now Pastor Maldonado is out too, which saved him from having to fight for 3rd place.
There's no need to list all the mishaps Vettel and Hamilton have dealt with this season; anyone following the sport knows.
You only need to look back at Valencia when Alonso jumped from 5th to 1st.
Vettel was leading until his car pulled aside, Grosjean's car failed, and then Maldonado
knocked both himself and Hamilton out just a few laps before the end. If that race had finished "normally,"
Vettel would be ahead of Alonso in the standings right now. And let's not even mention
last race, where Vettel lost about 10 crucial points due to a mechanical failure.
Kudos to Fernando, but luck can't follow him forever through the rest of the season,
so the title fight will likely stay wide open until the final race...

Man, that's just the nature of the sport. If it bothers you that much, maybe don't watch! And of course the title hunt will go down to the wire in Brazil. I don't see how it could be any other way. 🤷
Ashley Cook64 said:Vergne? Yeah, I'm with you there. ☕

It wasn't that Jean-Éric braked too early, it was more like Michael Schumacher (retirement calling, man!). 🤦
neonfox65 said:It’s definitely time for him to hang it up. I just wonder what kind of penalty he’s actually going to face...

Oh, come on, what penalty could he possibly get? Retirement is punishment enough. If he keeps driving like this, he's just asking for an injury. It’s pretty clear he shouldn't be behind the wheel after dark.
Jason Campbell70 said:What’s the word? Is Vergne looking at a penalty?

😂

Just more proof that he's earned his retirement.
