I just finished some of those little cookies from Emma's kitchen and—if you're actually asking for my honest opinion—they weren't anything to write home about... 🤷
Our cake wasn't exactly a masterpiece of visual perfection—it was a little lopsided, if you know what I mean—but I told Lisa Reed5 ahead of time that it might turn out looking a bit rustic like that... still, people devoured every single last bite because it was just that delicious...
As for the cookies? They were absolutely phenomenal—everyone was raving about them, and honestly, they disappeared pretty fast too... Some guests were even wandering from table to table, chatting away with everyone and picking out their favorite varieties as they went—and believe me, even some of the guys were doing it...
So yeah, I’d say Sugarman is definitely worth checking out 😍
I’m just not looking anymore... I can't look... I’ve officially committed to the cake... yes, the cake is chosen... I am strictly avoiding the cupcakes... no glancing at the cupcakes... absolutely no looking at those cupcakes (honestly, this is basically my mantra right now, Frank)

It's been a bit quiet lately, so I wanted to check in—did you guys get everything sorted out? Is everything finalized and settled??!!
We won't be using those standard sparklers, but honestly, I don't even want candles or anything else—we're just going to use a light cannon instead... so everything will stay dark, and the only thing being lit up is the cake 😉
Jesse Kim4 said:Usually, for smaller wedding receptions, you plan on about 1 pound for every 8 guests, and then package them in 9-ounce portions.
Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth—I mean, I’m the type who’ll happily polish off nearly a full plate at a wedding—so I definitely wouldn't want to run short...😉
In the end, I went ahead and grabbed 12 kg for 50 people.
William Nguyen8 said:They just have standard plates, which honestly feels pretty cheap... You can find plastic trays at "everything and more" stores, but they don't come with lids. I was at a wedding recently out in the Midwest where they used those specific trays with lids. It’s a game changer; the pastries stay fresh all night long instead of getting stale...
I have no clue where to track some down...
Well, considering that the new smoking ban laws are coming into effect soon anyway—they won't be dealing with any smoke issues regardless...😂
William Nguyen8 said:So, I finally tracked down the cookies (for Srčeko🙂🙂), and now I’m on the hunt for cookie boxes (to pass them out) and trays (for the tables). Do any of you know where I can pick up some sturdy trays with clear lids? Also, where’s the best spot to find decent deals on cookie boxes?
Well, why wouldn't you just ask the restaurant to borrow something suitable for serving?
Benjamin Roberts5 - I don't get it—you mean they aren't working at 1:30 AM??? Well, honestly, they aren't going to be baking cakes and pastries at 1:30 in the morning anyway... they'd just deliver them to the restaurant the evening before, and then you're all set...
honestly, I feel like I can finally breathe again—it’s like that weight is just lifting, even if it makes me want to lose my mind just a little bit... 😍

Frank, Sugarland might actually be able to recreate those beautiful patterns for you. They did that for me once and the results were lovely. I wish I had a photo of the cake to show you. 😢Which flavors did you end up choosing? And are you using their display stand or Trajbar's? A friend of mine had the Trajbar one, but I never thought to ask her about it. Apparently, they had a small wedding over in Trajbar recently and ordered their cakes from Sugarland. 🙂
Do you honestly think there's a chance this could actually turn out well...? 😍 🙂 It’s such a shame you don't have a photo posted... I was really looking forward to putting a face to the name... 😢 But honestly, you’ve already comforted me quite a bit... I just can't stop obsessing over the idea that I'm going to end up with an ugly cake—and then I'll be stuck having to track down some Photoshop expert like Artovac just to fix the photos... 🤣
That stand is actually from Sugarland—it has this lovely, old-school romantic vibe to it... honestly, it fits the whole mood of the wedding perfectly. 😉
Sarah Taylor4 - since my crew only works with whipped cream, I figured I’d go with a "design" where any little "mistakes" would be basically invisible... I mean, what else can I really do? 🤷 just maybe some silver ribbons... or perhaps orchids—I haven't quite decided yet...
if anyone else ends up with something similar—it’ll be amazing... but I'm honestly a little worried it won't turn out right...
on the bright side—at least it'll taste delicious 😍
We’re going to have to aim for something along these lines—and honestly, that would be the absolute best-case scenario... I don't even want to dwell on what happens if things go sideways... if it turns out looking truly terrible, I'll just have to ask the photographer to blur her out 🤣
I honestly can't wrap my head around why General Motors cheesecake is always way too soft to actually hold any kind of topping—even that specific style I usually love from the local bakery, which is just... well, you know... 🙂
