Karen Grant9 said:I tried Meli and I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed. I was expecting much more sophisticated pastries. A few of them tasted identical despite being different items! I went to Piece of Cake to fix my mood and was absolutely delighted. Does anyone have any other great bakeries to recommend? The only issue with Piece of Cake is they don't really carry dry cookies; most of their stuff is quite creamy...

If you’re digging Piece of Cake, then Sugarland will be right up your alley 😉

Daily pads are constantly 🙈
I just can't get enough help

When it comes to pads, I only stick with Victoria's Secret—that plastic feeling from Tampax honestly irritates me both mentally and physically
I used to have really heavy flows too, where I’d leak even in the middle of the night... so I’d end up wearing two overnight pads at once just to feel somewhat secure 🤣
And I'd tuck a big towel, folded in half, right underneath me
Since I always sleep on my side, it didn't leak all the time, but when it did, it was a total flood... so then I'd have to deal with the towel soaking everything up, and yeah, it was just a whole thing
As for tampons, I absolutely can't stand them. I'll buy a box every few years if I absolutely have to, but I really only use them if I'm at the beach—I'll pop one in, swim for a bit, and then rush straight home to take it out and switch back to a pad

See, I told you—everything turned out just fine in the end... 🙂

Stress was definitely taking its toll on her

She could mention it to the second doctor—though she doesn't really have to... I mean, he’s probably going to come to his own conclusions regardless of what happened previously anyway

I just hope she gets seen as soon as possible if the pain is starting up again... it might be something like a kidney stone or something similar

urbanowl10 said:I watched it on my laptop with a friend—it’s called Fireproof.
My friend actually commented on it too, saying how much she loved it and that it gave her some great ideas for a wedding.
But after reading your post just now, I’ve gotta say, it got a little scary... I started wondering if maybe you were actually her, haha! 😬

No, definitely not me!

On HBO? 😍

What exactly didn't look good to you???? I was absolutely floored...

Oh my goodness, I just spotted the most divine wedding cake topper in a movie earlier—it was these gorgeous little glass salt and pepper cellars, filled with seasoning of course...
The one for the salt had this delicate tulle "veil" draped over it, while the pepper one featured a tiny, sleek black cylinder

It looked absolutely stunning 😍

Honestly, just tell her she needs to find a different doctor for a second opinion... because this guy isn't just being difficult—he’s actually borderline incompetent, and frankly, he probably shouldn't even have a medical license in this state anymore.

I had someone like that say the exact same thing to me when I was eighteen—telling me I’d never be able to have kids—and I just have standard PCOS, which is incredibly common these days and totally manageable with the right care...

At the end of the day, maybe she should just show him what we've all been saying here... you know, just to prove that he really is out of his depth...

SHE ABSOLUTELY HAS TO SEE A DIFFERENT DOCTOR, NO MATTER WHAT!!!!

Hey, sunnygirl, huge congrats! 😍

Then you can just calmly explain to the caseworker that they never actually authorized any follow-up tests—just tell them exactly how it went. Besides, they’re required to have a record of every single time you visited their office anyway...

In any other case, if a doctor doesn't order those specific tests, they aren't really doing much at all. I mean, checking bloodwork and urine samples is pretty much the bare minimum, right?

Honestly, I'm a little surprised you didn't realize you had to insist on those two things—I mean, people get those run through for even a minor cold, don't they? It's standard practice...
Unfortunately, our healthcare system here in the States is such a mess lately—you basically have to be your own advocate and fight tooth and nail just to get the referrals you need for further testing.

And hey, don't stress about the paperwork. They absolutely have to provide the documentation for your sick leave. Even if they try to cut your leave short, if you head over to the ER tomorrow, they’ll have to reopen it based on their own medical records.

Anyway, please let me know how everything turns out...

How on earth did he come to that conclusion about your kidneys if you hadn't even provided a urine sample or had an ultrasound done yet? It seems a bit sudden...
How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

Go see the doctor and maybe they'll at least write down a recipe for you...

Now, a private clinic might give you the formula—but you’ll definitely have to cough up some cash for those pills first...

And as for the check-up, well, you might just have to sign up for a follow-up appointment later on...

steelrider3 said:Someone on here mentioned that Absom bakes specifically for Bill, and that all their cookies taste basically the same—now I'm stuck in a massive dilemma because they fit my budget perfectly ($18/lb) .... 😢
Even Mus has some haters out there... 😢

Unfortunately, you can always find someone willing to complain about anything—no matter who they are or how much it actually costs

If the specific flavor of the pastries isn't your main concern and the price works for you—especially since you're catering to a big group—then just go for it! You can just brush off whatever negative comments a few people might throw your way; most others won't even notice 😉

At the end of the day, just think about it—every price point comes with its own set of trade-offs 😉

bluesailor14 gave a really solid recommendation for Stanec—he’s honestly a fantastic doctor when it comes to this kind of thing... you should definitely go see him to get his take on everything...

I went ahead and cleared out all that back-and-forth bickering from yesterday—consider this your one and only warning... if things get that heated again, you already know what happens next ☕

swiftridge90 said:thanks girls, I think I'll grab some cookies for everyone... probably just those little individual boxes, you know, just a little something sweet.
and of course a little gift for everybody too, hopefully that's enough. for the ones who stick around until the very end, I'll see if there are any leftovers and try to pack them up somehow... maybe...

👍

At the end of the day, it’s usually just your closest family, best friends, and godparents left hanging around anyway... and honestly, it’s only right that they get a bit extra—maybe even a slice of cake if there's any left over 😉
so you might want to plan on having a few of those larger dessert boxes on hand just in case

I’m not particularly fond of that whole thing with the lattice work... 🤷
but then again, I suppose I just have a more traditionalist streak... 🙂

Has anyone here tried the treats from Lantern in Jackson?
The lady who makes them actually works at a computer firm downtown with Mr. O'Connor...
My coworker picks up her baked goods for Christmas and Easter every single year—they're always delicious. I tend to judge everything by a pretty strict standard, but hers are truly top-tier...
I've gained about 150 pounds just thinking about them...
If anyone is interested, I can definitely track down her number for you
The only thing is, I'm not quite sure where she does pop-up tastings or anything like that...

For my very first wedding, I actually wore their 😉
