As for the flavors, the bottom tier needs to be sturdy, so they're doing an ice cream cake—not literal ice cream, obviously, just how they label it. It's a walnut ice cream cream. I haven't tried it myself, unfortunately, but my dad practically ate his fingers off because it was so good. The top two tiers will be split into two layers each: one vanilla/chocolate parfait and the third tier will be fruit-based, maybe strawberry/banana or wild berry... basically something fruity and light.

Got a picture of your cake?

The number of tiers doesn't matter nearly as much as the actual size of the tiers themselves😉 —and frankly, you should just leave that entire decision to the pastry chefs😬

Joshua Clark said:You can find molds for those—just like the ones for any other chocolate "treats"—but honestly, I haven't come across them here in the States yet.

Oh, man... I owe my entire worldview to that line in your signature.😎
Robin Lopez54 said:I need help... maybe it’s related to pregnancy... but I feel the urge to go twenty times a day, and every single time I sit down, about five drops leak out. It hurts and it burns! What can I do to make this stop?

And another thing... I went to the pharmacy to ask the pharmacist, but she told me I couldn't even buy a test because my period hasn't been missed yet... but my cycle isn't due for another month... and I can't wait that long... I had unprotected sex 2 or 3 days after my last period... and I know stress will just make it late anyway...

Well, you obviously aren't pregnant if you were having sex just 2-3 days after your period ended... you clearly have some kind of inflammation or an infection—because pregnancy doesn't cause genital stinging.
How can anyone tell you that you can't buy one??? You go in and you buy it—it's your money. Maybe the pharmacist was just emphasizing that it wouldn't be worth your while since you almost certainly aren't pregnant, and honestly, she’s right.😉
Robin Lopez54 said:So, how am I supposed to know which test to pick or when to actually take it? I see some girls here mentioning when they did their tests and how long they had to wait... but I had sex just two days ago...

🤣 .. Look, you just have to wait for your next period—meaning, if it doesn't show up, then you finally take the test, because right now, there is absolutely nothing you can see... you aren't even pregnant yet; you're just incredibly spooked and confused.😘
Robin Lopez54 said:I recently had sex for the first time with my boyfriend, whom I’m deeply in love with... he was being really gentle. It wasn't painful, and there wasn't any bleeding because I'm an athlete—my hymen actually tore a while ago during training; I remember seeing a bloodstain on my underwear after practice, and nothing like that has happened since... It did hurt a bit during penetration, though, and he could tell I was uncomfortable... We used a condom twice and went without it four times. He didn't finish inside me, just outside, but... my period ended two days before this happened, and I am terrified that I might be pregnant. He tells me I'm fine, but I know what I felt...

I wanted to ask if anyone knows how pregnancy tests work and how much they cost... maybe a baby is coming $133, and I'm definitely not ready for that... If anyone knows anything... I'm heading to Washington, D.C. soon and will be there for a month, so I know they'll have better selection at the pharmacies there... Does anyone know which test to get, what the price range is, and stuff like that? I'm a minor, so I can't exactly go get an ultrasound or anything like that yet...

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Baby Do Come isn't a pregnancy test, so it won't help you at all... that's just for tracking fertile and non-fertile days.😉

Just buy any standard test from a drugstore and take it in the morning with your first urine; that’s when you’ll get the most reliable result.😉
analoggardener51 said:I’ve already mentioned how I saw those two lines on the test and felt like I was on top of the world, but since my first ultrasound isn't scheduled for another ten days or so, I went ahead and got my blood work done. The results show a beta level of 7,123.00 👍 (based on a 5+3 conception date). I was reading online that a typical value for the fifth week can go up to around 7,300.00, so this number feels a bit high to me... Or is it?
In any case, I’m not feeling any specific symptoms, other than being chronically exhausted and dealing with constant aching in my abdomen and lower back!
I am definitely pregnant... provided everything looks fine at the appointment!

It isn't high; everything is still well within the normal range. Even if the value slightly exceeds that threshold by a small percentage, it’s perfectly fine—it’s only when the level is, say, a third higher than the norm that you actually have something to worry about.

Just try to enjoy this moment because you're our newest mom-to-be 😘 and there is absolutely no reason to stress 😉

Oh, please😘 😬; honestly, mine was a complete disaster—it wasn't even remotely what I had envisioned—but I really have no desire to revisit those memories😁

rustyowl7 said:Does anyone living in California know where I can find some truly exceptional cakes made with fondant?
Sam Kim12, I was wondering—was the cake you had actually made with marzipan or was it fondant? My wife, who handles all our baking, suggests I stick with marzipan instead (since she won't be making any for me)...

Mine was definitely Ticino... and here is the crux of the matter: marzipan carries its own distinct flavor profile—which, frankly, some people can't stand, though I absolutely adore it 🤣—whereas Ticino is essentially a blank canvas. It doesn't necessarily have a taste of its own; any flavor you get is purely from whatever coloring they use (in my case, I insisted on colorless dyes, so the Ticino itself was tasteless). Then there's the aesthetic factor—you simply cannot achieve a pure, snowy white finish with marzipan because the substance itself has a yellowish tint, whereas Ticino allows for that perfect, stark white look.😉

Ashley Adams4 said:Hmm... can that ice cream parfait be any flavor? I've never actually heard of that before... is it just like ice cream but slightly creamier or😕 😁

Well, now you're putting me on the spot🤣—I actually inhaled a slice of this cake at a party (oops, it was a christening, but honestly, hormone fluctuations are a real thing). As for that frozen component, it was incredibly creamy—how on earth do I describe this?—let's say the "parfait" part had the texture of a rich, airy mousse with chocolate and vanilla flavors, whereas the actual ice cream portion tasted identical but had the consistency of standard premium ice cream (think something like Taylor Swift from Ice😬); basically, the ice cream part was much firmer... and as for whether those flavors can vary, I haven't the slightest clue.

Hopefully, that description makes sense to you.😳

Ashley Adams4 said:What flavor was it? Just so I know what I'm looking for...😍 So you're giving them a thumbs up then...

It was basically half cream parfait and half ice cream parfait😬—look, I'll be honest, the cake was genuinely delicious, and I’d be lying if I said it wasn't😬... so if you’ve also had good luck with them, go ahead and pull the trigger.😉

Ashley Adams4 said:I’m not going to bore you all by mentioning the ribbons—it goes without saying they'll be there, though I’ll probably just opt for a bow on the car... but that’s beside the point.
I’ve finally decided that now is actually the perfect time to get the cake ordered, so please, tell me about your best experiences . I was thinking about picking one up from Whole Foods—I’ve heard nothing but good things from people I know—but honestly, I trust your opinions more 😘. Help a girl out, please. The design will look like this, just with an extra tier and some fresh flowers

I found out just yesterday that they were actually the ones behind that incredible cake I raved about at a birthday party once—it was absolutely phenomenal😉 🙂 and their decorations are just stunningly beautiful.😬

Linda Adams8 said:Look, please, don't get mad at me, but seriously—where on earth do you always get this kind of info?

This comes from someone actually working on the inside at one of those places😳 ..... obviously I won’t drop a name because I have zero interest in getting that person into any trouble..... I’m not even claiming their pastries taste bad—I haven't tried them, so I'm staying out of that debate entirely. My point is strictly about the presentation, because so many people went in expecting one thing and ended up with something that looked nothing like the picture😉 (and believe me, I’ve messed up a cake myself, so take this as a bit of friendly advice😬 ) ..... the reality is that most pastry chefs when they're working a pop-up market aren't making artisanal, multi-layered masterpieces; they're basically just slapping icing and marzipan over basic sponge cakes (marzipan is more common since it handles the heat better) simply because it’s the path of least resistance (BTW: those cakes displayed at the wedding expos were left out in the display area overnight🙂 ) and frankly, assembling something like that is a hell of a lot easier than crafting a legitimate, high-end cake (I know, because I once helped out at a local bakery doing exactly that😬))
placidjackal14 said:Even if the pregnancy is super early, you should at least be able to spot the gestational sac... I could see mine by week 4.

Something definitely feels off with her ultrasound results.

Look, you don't necessarily have to see the gestational sac that early—I didn't see mine because my ovulation was delayed 😉—but the ovaries? They tell the whole story.😬

Honestly, it looks to me like the technician has no idea how to operate a Democratic Party ultrasound machine.🤣
Gregory Williams4 said:She told me I showed up a whole week early, so now we can't even hang out yet. Ugh, seriously?! Grrrr!

Honestly, someone needs to tell Aunt Ginny to either get a pair of glasses or at least learn how to interpret basic Democratic Party medical data—because you absolutely have to be able to spot the changes in the ovary (specifically that corpus luteum, which handles all the hormone production necessary to maintain a pregnancy).😉 Maybe the embryo just hasn't implanted properly yet, even though according to your dates, you should be six weeks along... personally, I’d go seek a second opinion because this whole situation is frankly ridiculous.😘

In my experience, I had a delayed ovulation, so my gestational sac didn't show up until 5+2, even though I could clearly see the corpus luteum on my ovary at 4+5—which confirmed the pregnancy since the little one hadn't fully nestled itself yet.🙂.

Daniel Smith8 said:She makes cakes like these. Truly remarkable. I remember seeing a similar spread at a gala in Chicago once—unforgettable, if a bit excessive. A little secret. Just one. Always ends badly. They had her on display at the trade show, but there isn't a single photo of her on the website. Typical.

A quick word of caution:

Those cakes they were showing off? They were nothing more than Styrofoam blocks sprayed with a thin layer of frosting👎 so please, don't go getting your hopes up—I know plenty of people who have been left completely disappointed after trying to order from them.😉

Jeffrey Castillo8 said:I’ve gone through everything, I really have, but somehow I must have missed something 🙂

Sam Kim12, if you could possibly share any insight, I would be incredibly grateful. Honestly, I don't have anyone else particularly sharp to turn to for advice on this. I visited two local bakeries recently, and they started acting incredibly shady toward me. It feels like they're being intentionally vague and withholding details until we officially sign a contract to have them handle all our dessert catering 😢

Thanks.

Just tell me what shape the cake should be, and how many slices you need—also, do you want them all uniform in size, or should they taper from largest to smallest?😉

Zachary Gray35 said:Look, if you can't find an expert lady to give you advice, just walk into a local high-end bakery and ask. Just don't lead with "I'm just asking for information" or they'll shut you down immediately. 😍 😁 Honestly, I have a feeling Sam Kim12 might actually know the deal. I'm pretty sure we touched on this once before, so maybe check with her...

You really think my memory is still that sharp?🤣 ... I might have to check with my aunt to see how she calculates everything, because honestly, my recall is failing me. 😳 (Age catches up to everyone eventually—it's probably high time I started taking some anti-aging supplements 🤣 )

We were being careful, sure, but when things are going great, you don't dwell on the "what ifs." Plus, you have protection, so you feel secure. You start thinking it's impossible for it to happen to *you*. You think you're invincible. And then... well, we messed up.

Listen, no amount of protection offers a 100% guarantee—let alone a condom😉—and honestly, by your age, you really should have figured that out by now😘. (BTW: I have friends in my neighborhood who've gone the pill route, not to mention the more experienced women—moms and aunts—who’ve even relied on an IUD)

I don't even understand why you waited 14 days in the first place. That is a massive amount of time. Even if we're talking about a simple infection or something similar, you don't sit around waiting that long. To me, this whole situation just screams how immature everyone involved actually is.
Steven Patel5 said:I’m still playing the tape back in my head, trying to figure out exactly where we went wrong. We've been practicing safe sex the same way for five years now. It might sound a little ridiculous to be laying this all out, but I can't stop thinking about this one specific time. Things were getting pretty intense, right at the peak, when the condom slipped and a piece ended up stuck inside her. I didn't actually finish in that one—I swapped it out for a fresh one and finished in the second one instead. We usually start things off without protection before putting a condom on... so, is there any actual chance that I’m the one to blame here?

Oh, absolutely, there's a chance.😉 ....... but don't drive yourself insane overthinking it right this second... just get her a pregnancy test from CVS and have her take it tomorrow morning with her first urine sample.😘

Zachary Gray35 said:Look, regarding the tiers... I think a smaller cake can have just as many layers as a massive one. At least in most cases, unless we're talking about a tiny dessert for maybe 10 people. It all comes down to the diameter of the tiers. A three-tier cake for a crowd of 140 can look exactly like a three-tier cake for 300—the layers on the larger one are just going to be wider.

👍 Exactly my point.
