Maybe two or three guys should swing by on Monday to help with the loading

Alright, it’s all set

The sanitation truck is scheduled to swing by on Monday—so we’ll need to get everything piled up over the weekend

I'll just settle up with $167 once they show up to grab it

Guys, seriously—we need a truck, a van, a tractor... hell, even a horse and carriage at this point. Anything works.

I'm totally losing it here.🤣

Anonymous said:Man, they really just call Valsimot "Little Guy" in the group.

🙂

I think I'm gonna try to track down some kind of semi-truck somewhere

Vans are just way too small for all that stuff they've got sitting out in the yard😁

Nathan Ramirez11 said:Look, you should come hang out in our thread—everyone there is a total gentleman (pretty sure I spelled that right, anyway🤣) and we’d honestly love to have a lady (if you count yourself as one🙂) popping in to chat with us every now and then..

ps - you'd be the first, you brave enough? 😁

Actually, if everyone is as reliable as Valsimot, I might be too scared to say no
🤣

Once we tear all this stuff out and toss it, what are we actually looking at needing?
Ask some contractors and drop a list here—let's get this sorted out, kind of like checking things off a wedding guest list once the chaos settles.🙂

Since I'm right in the middle of drafting a pretty heated letter to a plumbing fixture company, there's a chance we might not even need any of this junk anyway.🙂

I'll post an update here once I know more.🙂

Hey spitka—rumor has it you’ve got some inside track on scoring a truck

Is that actually true, or am I just listening to too much nonsense from the guys down at the shop?😬

silentsailor28 said:man, look at all those suggestions—what lady could possibly turn that down?🙂

And what makes you think I'm a lady? 🤣

this is gonna turn into an off-topic mess
don't drag me into a side chat🙂

silentsailor28 said:So, that means we’re gonna have a full house this Saturday—great. Angela Newman33, you're coming with us to the game after we wrap up the work, right? You can be our official hype man for the crowd.🙂

Noooo, please, anything but that... I’d honestly rather just keep scrubbing the floors myself.

Honestly, if I actually showed up to a game, I wouldn't even know what I was supposed to be looking at. 🤣

Nathan Ramirez11 said:I’m just messing around a bit... I don't know if you're the one actually driving this whole thing, but if you are, then this goes out to you alone...🙏... plus, you're actually staying active here... not just empty words, but seriously, if there were more people like you, we’d all be a lot better off... let us know about the furniture when the time comes...👍

Fair enough... honestly, I'm kind of rooting for everyone to just toss out all the current furniture they have in the house (it feels like it was all hauled in from a big-box retailer like IKEA, or at least carries that same quality and scent 🤣)

So, that armchair might actually be the first thing to land in the living room once we clear out all that bulky junk 😁

Anyway, I'll scope things out and give you a heads-up

p.s. about that first part... I'd tell you who the organizer is, but then I'd have to kill you 🤣

Nathan Ramirez11 said:Man, check this out—some doctor puts out a PDF basically looking for die-hard fans to come in and do all the grunt work for pennies. Unbelievable.😂

What am I supposed to do? I can't exactly go around scaring off the guys who don't know how to lay a single brick, install a window, or even hang a sheet of drywall.
It’s honestly such a relief when you’ve got a few people in the mix who actually know their stuff—you know, the ones who can actually steer the ship so the rest of us don't just drift aimlessly. 😁

So, I was basically being super helpful today—I spent the whole time lugging a work light around for the contractors while they were patching up the walls in my room. Not gonna lie, it didn't exactly require a PhD or any massive intellectual heavy lifting, but hey, someone had to do it. 🤣

Man, I’m really hoping I get off easy with the cabbage rolls—I definitely don't need a beatdown for dropping such a massive insult. 😉

Nathan Ramirez11 said:Honestly, I’d probably just get in everyone's way during the heavy lifting and end up causing more trouble than help—but once the rough stuff is out of the way, I could help with some furniture setup. I've got one really nice, high-end armchair I can bring, and maybe something else too... just shoot me a DM when you need an extra hand.👍

Angela Newman33, what do you mean by "we need dumb labor"?😬

You know, that kind of crew that doesn't need to think—just acts as a human stabilizer or a literal forklift.
If I actually had any muscle, I'd definitely fall into that category myself.😁

analogheron19 said:Look, since you've been hanging around this forum forever, you probably have some pull with the mods—so why not suggest they just ban everyone who isn't stepping up? No exceptions. Honestly, screw the slackers and the cowards.

When that request comes from someone who’s already got a permanent ban, I'm not sure how much they'll be in the mood to help out.😁

analogheron19 said:I can't make it tomorrow, but Friday works for me. Hopefully one of the self-proclaimed "tough guys" on this board actually steps up and helps out.🤷

Looking for someone with just the right amount of controlled aggression🤣
Fan-led charity drives in Fans ·
Yeah,

if anyone’s free tomorrow morning for maybe two or three hours... I need some extra hands to help move a couple rows of bricks and shove a window inside 🙂
the contractor doing the work tomorrow needs an assistant, and honestly, I didn't exactly sell him on my offer 🤣
Fan-led charity drives in Fans ·
analogheron19 said:count me in for two too👍

let's not get carried away... it should stay pretty even 🤣

Got the drywall up on the ceiling today—plan is to sand it down and hit it with one more coat of joint compound this Saturday so it’s actually ready for paint by next week.

If anyone out there actually knows what they're doing with a putty knife, I'll buy you a beer.🙂

Anonymous said:Tell me, should we get them some massive TV or maybe a DVD player plus some cartoons for the kids? Like, if we pool some cash together, we could grab something legit that'll actually keep them occupied...

Also, it might be a good move for those of us with kids to gather up the toys our little ones have outgrown and donate them to children who need them.

What do you think?

They don't need any of that since they've already got it—but honestly, a new fridge would be a lifesaver, especially since we're dropping off their current one at the local landfill this Saturday.
