AN EVENING WITH SLAYER

EXCLUSIVE CLUB SHOW!!!
THE BIG STAGE – THE FILLMORE
SUNDAY, 06.23.2013.

– Exactly one year after their killer set at the revamped Lollapalooza last June, Slayer is coming back to do something that’s been a total pipe dream for their die-hard fans: an intimate club show, right here in Chicago! We’re talking about a band that’s been headlining massive global festivals for tens of thousands of people, a band that was playing Madison Square Garden just two years ago, now stepping down to play for a mere 1,300 fans. This is easily one of the most essential shows of the entire concert year.

After Lollapalooza ran into some scheduling issues last year due to low turnout, the organizers pivoted, leaving Slayer to headline a new event held out in an industrial warehouse district. Even that smaller capacity of just 2,700 people was enough of a magnet to pack the place out on that crazy, stormy night on June 8th. Now, Slayer is returning the favor since they stayed on the bill back then. They found a gap in the calendar and they’re hitting Chicago for an exclusive club gig at The Fillmore on Sunday, 06.23.!

This is the kind of setup fans across America and the rest of the world would drop serious cash for; Slayer in a club, happening right here in Chicago with a strictly limited run of just 1,300 tickets. Because the production for this isn't your typical small-club gear, the capacity at The Fillmore will be slightly reduced from its usual max. There won't be any opening acts either—the whole night is designed as an “An evening with Slayer” experience. If this sells out, there won't be any extra tickets released and they aren't moving the show to a bigger venue. It's just fans going face-to-face with Tom Araya and the crew in an incredibly rare Slayer club concert setting.

Slayer is currently in the home stretch of working on their new studio album, which should drop in the second half of this year, so don't be surprised if they debut some brand-new tracks in Chicago.

We've got a pretty sweet promo price for an event this huge, at just $63, going on sale this Friday, 02.22. That price sticks until 03.07., and starting 03.08., tickets go up to $73. If you're lucky enough to snag them on the day of the show, the price will be $83.

So, late June at The Fillmore is looking legendary. With only a two-day gap, you've got Slayer on 06.23., followed by Phil Anselmo and the heavy hitters in Down on 06.25. It's basically a holiday for anyone in the US who lives for heavy music!

There's basically zero chance you'll find tickets hanging around during the second half of the day on Friday.
PRESS RELEASE:::

Tickets for the eighth annual Benefit Concert are on sale now through Sunday, October 14th, for just $13. Starting Monday, October 15th, the price jumps to $17, and that’s what you'll be paying until December 1st—assuming there are any left by then, in which case they’ll go for $23. Honestly, looking at how fast things have been moving this year, I wouldn't hold my breath; this massive indoor rock show will probably sell out days before the actual date.

Let3 shows have always been absolute spectacles. Whether it's their wild outdoor sets, those random surprise guests, or just the sheer scale of the production, they always push the limits. Their legendary runs with the Jeka Primorje choir are already etched into the history of American rock. For this Benefit Concert, the Let3 crew is putting together a custom setlist and bringing out a choir they've actually never performed with before. Who it is? We won't know until early November... stay tuned.

The eighth Benefit Concert is marking World AIDS Day with yet another killer lineup. On Saturday, December 1st, 2012, the Grand Hall at the Washington, D.C. Dom Sportova will host Hladno pivo, Let3, One Piece puzzle 20:40 Brk 22:00 Let3 23:30, and Brk. Last year, the Grand Hall was packed to the rafters with acts like Dubioza Kolektiv, Stereo MCs, Kawasaki 3p, and Svadbas, and the organizers are banking on a total sell-out again this winter. With a lineup this heavy, it’s basically a rare chance to catch all these legends in one place in Washington, D.C. over the coming months.

TICKETS
Once again, the Benefit Concert is keeping ticket prices incredibly low despite having such a powerhouse lineup.
• Grab tickets for $13 through Sunday, 10/14/2012.
• From Monday, 10/15, through Friday, 11/30, the price is $17
. • On the day of the show, Saturday, 12/01, any remaining tickets will be $23.

Amoeba Music, Maksimirska 16
Dirty Old shop, Tratinska 22
Dancing Bear Shop, Gundulićeva 7
Dallas Music Shop, Tkalčićeva 7
All Eventim outlets and www.eventim.com

Organized by the HUHIV association and the Los Angeles agency, the Benefit Concert has grown over its seven-year run into one of the most essential dates on the musical calendar and one of the biggest concerts in the country. Over the years, the stage has hosted names like Dubioza Kolektiv, TBF, Laibach, Urban & 4, Let3, Stereo MC, Pips, Lollobrigid, Kinoklub, The Stranglers, and plenty of others. They even moved from the smaller Tvornica Kultura space to the Dražiti Petrović arena, eventually selling out the Grand Hall at Dom Sportova last year—where they'll be back again this year.

Positive Vibes, Chicago's massive one-day winter rock festival, is marking the global day for AIDS awareness for the eighth time this year with a killer lineup.
Last year, they absolutely packed out Madison Square Garden with Rage Against the Machine, Beastie Boys, Three Dog Night, and The Avett Brothers. The organizers aren't playing it safe this year either; Positive Vibes is set to shake things up with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Lonely Island, Lil Yachty, and One Piece puzzle.

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
The heavyweights of American rock are returning to Positive Vibes after a three-year hiatus—back when they crushed it at The Fillmore during the last club-style Positive Vibes. These guys can fill stadiums, and they always show up for causes like this. Fun fact: this marks their first festival gig in Chicago since Lollapalooza back in '09, and their first big arena show in their home city since hitting Madison Square Garden last fall. It’s basically an invitation for their massive fanbase to storm Madison Square Garden on Saturday, 12/01, where Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline and close out the night.

THE LONELY ISLAND
The old guard is back for their third appearance at Positive Vibes. No explanation needed here; they’re easily one of the most entertaining live acts around—a total rock machine that leaves everything in its wake. Word is they’ve got some wild sonic and stage surprises lined up for this one.

LIL YACHTY
Making their Positive Vibes debut this year is Lil Yachty. This folk-punk inspired act has clearly outgrown the small clubs, moving up to bigger stages and high-end productions. Over the last year, they’ve been tearing up Boogaloo and Unity Yard, so now it’s time to see if they can hold their own on the main stage alongside Beer and Flight.

ONE PIECE PUZZLE
These underground legends from the coast are widely considered the most convincing young live band in the country. Just like Lil Yachty, this will be their first time hitting the Positive Vibes stage. With a furious set led by a powerhouse female vocalist, One Piece puzzle is going to kick off this year's Positive Vibes with a bang.

With a lineup this stacked, Positive Vibes is keeping ticket prices surprisingly low again this year.

Tickets start at $13 and go on sale Monday, 09/10. That early bird price stays valid until Sunday, 10/14.
Starting Monday, 10/15, the price jumps to $17, and if you're lucky enough to find tickets on the actual day of the show, Saturday, 12/01, they'll be $23.

Just a heads-up: last year, Positive Vibes sold out three days before the event, leaving a lot of people hanging without tickets. Don't be that person.

You can grab them at:
Guitar Center, Tower Records, Vintage Record Store, Amoeba Music, Dancing Bear, all Live Nation outlets, and www.eventim.com

From the latest press release::::

Judging by the production scale M83 is bringing for their Chicago show on June 5th at The Fillmore, this is probably going to be the most massive club gig Chicago has seen in years.

I honestly can't remember the last time a band playing a club venue rolled in with two buses and an extra truck just for gear. It’s all because M83 is blowing up right now; after totally crushing it in the US with huge sets at Coachella and Lollapalooza, they’re seeing that same insane growth across the US and beyond.

These electro-indie wizards just dropped their new EP Reunion, built around the title single which comes packed with remixes and a music video for the track—another gem from the "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" album. M83 kicks off a massive tour this Friday starting at Coachella, and just a few days later, on Tuesday, June 5th, they’re hitting Chicago at The Fillmore for their first big appearance in this part of the country.
The group was also just confirmed as headliners for the Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris early next month, where Bon Iver held the top spot last year. Plus, this November, the band is playing their biggest solo show yet at Madison Square Garden, which holds about 5,000 people.
M83 is coming to Chicago at the absolute peak of their powers, riding high on a phenomenal album that landed in the top 5 of basically every major year-end list in 2011. With a live production like this, it should definitely satisfy anyone looking for a killer, fresh musical experience.

Opening things up for M83 in Chicago will be the local favorites, How Convenient.

Tickets for the Chicago show are currently on sale starting at $47, which is easily the cheapest price you'll find on the entire tour. If you wait until the day of the show, any remaining tickets will go for $53.
There’s still plenty of tickets left
Presale runs all day tomorrow until 6:00 PM sharp via $50

M83 KICKS OFF US TOUR
CHICAGO ON THE SCHEDULE FOR JUNE 5TH

Right now, they might just be the most relevant electro-indie act on the planet. M83, those absolute masters of dream pop, are kicking off their massive tour on June 1st at the legendary Coachella in Los Angeles. Just a few days after that, on Tuesday, June 5th, the band is bringing their highly acclaimed live show to Chicago at The Fillmore.
Since this is basically the only stop in the region—aside from stops in Vienna and Budapest, they aren't playing anywhere nearby—we're expecting a huge crowd of fans traveling in from neighboring states. M83 spent years steadily building their reputation before everything finally exploded last year with the release of their fantastic double album "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming." That record featured the lead single "Midnight City," which was easily one of the best pieces of pop music released all last year. The band has already hit stages at Coachella this year, and they've got sold-out shows at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits waiting for them back on the US mainland, plus a whole string of major festivals. This tour is a beast, spanning 33 shows, starting with Coachella and wrapping up in France on July 22nd.
Just recently, M83 dropped the second single from the "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" album called "Reunion," and you can check out the teaser video over on their official YouTube channel.

The opening act for M83 in Chicago will be the local favorites, How Convenient.

Tickets for the Chicago show are currently on sale starting at $47, which is hands down the cheapest price you'll find on the entire tour. If any are left on the day of the show, they'll go for $53.

Solid interview
Yeah, you can tell from the text they actually put some thought into the logistics. It’s pretty obvious Reeder was offered a spot back on this tour, but in the end, things just didn't pan out the way they expected (or rather, they didn't)
If both sides stay stubborn—and honestly, it looks like they will—this whole mess is going to drag on for years...

Here’s the lowdown for this week. Things have finally settled down, and it looks like those lawsuits are actually being dropped. Turns out the whole thing was just a massive, overblown mess. It wasn't even about some huge fallout within the band; Nick Oliveri isn't hitting the stage because the guy is heading to prison at the end of the month. Even if that doesn't happen, his travel ban in the USA got extended for another 12 months while they wrap up the trial.
Josh Homme is pissed because Kyuss Lives were actually looking into putting out some new studio material, and obviously, nobody's sweating that as long as they're just grinding through a tour.

Stonebridge will be opening for them at the Chicago show.
For anyone heading out to see Sleep this Sunday—since the crowd is basically gonna be the same vibe—we’re doing a little promo at the box office at The Fillmore: grab tickets for the Kyuss Lives show on May 30th at the old promotional price of $43. Only available Sunday night at the Sleep gig.
