What would be the actual American equivalent for "jelly"? ... Jam? Marmalade? ... But that’s not quite right either....

If they don't have it in that specific "jam" style, I'd settle for gummy candies....

But please, nothing lemon or orange... maybe an infusion so I can actually pick my own flavor...
🙂 I tried those candied banana bites once, but they're all foamy and airy.... way far from what a real jelly is like

...so I bought some gelatin powder to try making it myself... but it's pineapple flavored....

mistyseal11 here! Just popping in to say hello to everyone! I was sitting on my porch this morning—lovely weather, really crisp, perfect for a coffee—and I started thinking about how much things have changed lately. It’s funny how life works, isn't it? One minute you're worrying about the small stuff, like whether you left the oven on, and the next, you're having these big realizations. Anyway, just felt like spreading some good vibes today. Hope you're all having a fantastic week! Keep smiling! kaže:
Why go with a brand-new one, though? I mean, I was just sitting here thinking about how much I love a fresh start—like when I finally decided to repaint my home office last summer. Everything felt so stale, you know? But then, boom! New color, new energy. It’s like hitting a reset button on your whole vibe. Sometimes you just need that clean slate to really get things moving!

Get lost, you absolute nutcase! Seriously, just go jump in a lake! $17 Buy ten of them. One's bound to work, for sure! 😁

By the way, I’d put my money on Emmezettu, Technomax, or something along those lines. They just have that vibe, you know? It’s like when you're walking through a tech expo in San Francisco and you see those specific booths—you just know they're going to be the big players. My gut feeling is usually pretty spot on with these things!

There’s absolutely nothing worth buying over there. Honestly, if you're looking for anything useful, don't even bother heading to that spot—it's a total bust. If you actually want things to work properly, you’ve got to shop smarter than that! 😁

Is there a Target (the one by the happy McDonald's) in any part of town?
wearyowl29 said:Does anyone know where I can pick up a new VHS video player in the city? Honestly, I don't care about the brand at all, just need something that works.🙄....I've been spending my afternoons calling every single AV equipment shop in town, and it’s been a total bust. Nothing.🙂

Why specifically a new one though?

Just hit up a thrift store... grab $17 10 of them, and you'll definitely get at least one working😁

BTW, if you really want to hunt, I'd bet on places like Best Buy, Micro Center, or similar spots
#1 Has anyone actually tracked down those new products from Vindija? I’m talking about that purple-labeled "Q10" lineup...

#2 "Greek yogurt" – except if you're hitting up Bio & Bio.

#3 Duyvis snacks – other than the stuff like the 25% less salt peanuts, the dry roasted original, BBQ, or that Japanese flavor (like seeing dry roasted cashews over in Canada...).

#4 Peanut butter with just the basics: peanuts and salt—nothing else added. I saw some "Kiki" brand stuff once, they have two types of smooth and crunchy... apparently someone from Rijeka makes them, and Lidl carries both options too, but everything there is loaded with hydrogenated oils and dextrose and junk. So, unless you go to Bio & Bio or maybe DM, BiP, or even Mueller... that's where the clean stuff is.

What’s a realistic price for an AMD Radeon HD 3850 1GB, 256bit that's "boxed with a warranty" and has some decent cooling from
Manufacturer : Gigabyte Technology Co.?$183 I was offered it for
.
And how much should I even be looking at for an 8800 GT/GTS... maybe the 320bit/320mb versions... or the 256mb variants... whatever.🙂

What about an 8800gt?

wiredmarlin5 said:Are you looking for an AGP or a PCI-E card?

Definitely PCI-E

wiredmarlin5 said:What’s your current or upcoming setup, and what kind of power supply are you running?

Athlon 3200+ 64-bit
nForce4 chipset
2GB DDR400
465W

wiredmarlin5 said:What resolution are you gaming at?

1920x1080 (or maybe something slightly smaller in 16:9)
plus I need it to handle watching Full HD movies

wiredmarlin5 said:How much cash are you looking to drop?

Nothing crazy, maybe around $300--$133 (ideally as cheap as possible if it hits the marks...)

wiredmarlin5 said:Which stores are you considering?

Just through classifieds... probably something used

wiredmarlin5 said:If you have any other specific requirements, let me know.

I'm not hunting for some miracle card, but ideally something with a 256-bit bus... and at least 320MB of GDDR3 VRAM.

I'm not really looking to play anything super heavy, especially not those massive AAA titles that melt your face off...
(The absolute peak would be an MMORPG... maybe something like WoW or whatever else is similar, or potentially a racing sim like NFS.)

- I’d love to get some solid recommendations from you guys on what to grab and what actually offers the best bang for my buck in this price range.

... I've been doing a bit of digging and a few things caught my eye like the 3870x2, 4850, 9800+, and so on... honestly, I'm totally lost in all these model names and can't tell which one is actually better 🙂 since they constantly change the naming schemes and you can't just look at the numbers to figure out what's good anymore...

*The GPU is basically just a "placeholder" until I save up enough cash to build a whole new rig from scratch.
*Needs an HDMI output.

Thanks!

Hey everyone

Since I haven't been banned (as a rule) and don't have any strikes against my name, I'm totally lost on why the forum keeps auto-logging me out every single time I try to sign in?

Am I somehow restricted from certain subforums or something?

I'm running google chrome...

Let me say this again:

It’s because nowadays, everyone claims they’re dealing with depression, hysteria, mania, or some kind of mental breakdown just to justify everything...
We’re talking about non-pathological stuff where a person's reaction is actually totally normal, but when you ask them "how's it going," they answer honestly and give you a glimpse into their *current* headspace... which is what you were actually asking about in the first place...

But then you go into full combat mode the second someone mentions "depression" (and yeah, you react like that—I'm assuming, since that's clearly the whole point of this thread)—and that’s exactly where the conflict starts.
Every time you learn something new, you're basically reshaping who you are at your core.

And honestly, that’s the whole catch right there!

The real question is whether you actually want to go out and discover something new,
...or if you’d rather just stay stuck in your ways—narrow-minded, stagnant, and totally closed off from ever growing.
You're constantly evolving, man, you just don't even realize it yet.

Just take a second to look back at where you were a year or two ago... think about what was actually on your mind and all those things that used to keep you up at night... and then look at where you're standing today.

I bet you've changed physically too—do you think that's had an impact on who you are as a person?

But that wasn't my goal when I started this thread.

Say you want a great career and an opportunity pops up, but you have to move to another city or even another state to get it—do you still want that job as badly?

Or maybe you want a solid partner, but the situation requires moving far away again. Would you still be just as committed to that goal?

Look, that’s exactly why I went ahead and dropped this whole thread with my idealistic take on things—because you clearly can't get your point across properly when you actually try.

I can't believe we're even having this conversation right now, honestly! Like, I’ve been sitting here thinking about what Laura Jackson92 said earlier, and man, I just have to jump in because I feel like we're missing the forest for the trees here. It's all about the vibe, you know? You can't just look at the numbers or whatever Donna Taylor68 is obsessing over and expect it to make sense without looking at the actual soul of the situation. I'm being totally serious! When Mistyseal11 brought up that point about the local regulations, it really clicked for me, like, wow, that changes everything about how we approach this. We need to stop overcomplicating things and just be real about what's happening on the ground. It's not that deep, but it's also incredibly important, if that makes any sense? I'm just saying, let's keep it simple and stay honest with ourselves. kaže:
So, here’s the real question: if you’re out there looking for that perfect life partner, but life throws a curveball and tells you that you’ve gotta pack up everything and move halfway across the country again, would you still be 100% all in on finding "the one"? Like, does the idea of uprooting your whole life make you want to just throw in the towel on dating altogether, or are you still chasing that goal regardless of where you end up landing?
Iceland or New Zealand? Honestly, I don't even care, just get me out of here—I am so ready to go!!!

Arthur Morgan23 said:I've definitely noticed that too. I think it happens because if someone declines, you feel awkward, so you end up saying oh come on, just have a little bit, don't be shy over and over until they finally cave... it's a bad habit, honestly, but at least nobody leaves hungry. And it's usually not even about hunger, it's just about feeling awkward. 🧐I've actually done this to my friends, and they've done it to me. That seems to be the root of it.

As for grandmas, I never had an issue since they always piled food in front of me. I'd eat it all, and then they'd just say wow, this girl sure has an appetite and that I'd never make it as a ballerina. I haven't eaten like that in ten years, though. 😢

Michelle Vaughn18 said:Hey everyone.
I’m dealing with this massive weight right now and honestly, I’m just lost.
I’m 19, and for the most part, life isn't even that bad, except for one thing:
I’ve always felt like I’m on a different wavelength than people my age. I’m super sensitive to everything—like, really pick up on criticism, people being mean, or when things just feel unfair... But lately, it feels like more than just being sensitive.

-Sleep is a total nightmare. It wasn't always like this, but for the last three months, I literally CANNOT fall asleep. Usually, I just grab a few pills (doesn't matter which kind) because I've convinced myself they'll knock me out. I don't know why I'm so fixated on them, but I'm constantly popping them.
-The headaches are brutal. I went to a neurologist, but they can't figure out what's wrong. I've done every test under the sun and everything comes back perfectly fine.
-I’m just constantly, deeply sad. FOR NO REASON! Sometimes there’s some stupid little trigger, and since I’m the type of person who gets crushed if things aren't perfect, it just spirals. But even when everything is going great, I still feel incredibly low.
-Sometimes, out of nowhere, I just "snap"—I get super irritable and do stuff that catches both me and everyone else off guard.
-There are days where I’m happy, but then I go overboard and become insanely hyperactive. Usually, my friends aren't really down for my weird bursts of energy, so I end up crashing back into being unrealistically depressed.
-I have friends, but our connection isn't like what you see in movies or what most people have. And that's on me, not them. They're great for hanging out, but I can NEVER actually trust them with anything. Even if I try to open up, I just end up feeling foolish and exposed.

I used to think all this was just how I was, until I had to admit to myself that these aren't the only struggles I'm facing.

-I have these self-destructive tendencies. When I "snap" or get that irritability I mentioned, I end up hitting my head, pulling at myself, or cutting. I can't stop it. In those moments of pure rage or sadness, I do it without even thinking, and the scary part is... I actually FEEL relief from it.
-I feel like I could just end it all if any tiny obstacle gets in my way. I just don't know the right way to do it. I don't have access to the right pills, and mixing whatever else I find doesn't work on me anymore. I'm basically immune. I don't know... when I watch a movie and a character is in a bad spot, I just think, "I'd kill myself if I were them." Often, when I look ahead at the rest of my life, I feel like I'm just not strong enough to handle it and that I'll find a way out before I get there.
I feel like I don't really matter to anyone anyway. I'm just a burden.
-And lately, I've been hearing "voices." Look, I'm not crazy, and they aren't saying anything profound. It's more like I'm dreaming while I'm wide awake. Like yesterday, I was at a coffee shop with a friend and her boyfriend. We were all talking, and suddenly, I heard and saw a SUBWAY TRAIN and people stepping off it—right there in the middle of the cafe! I know it didn't happen, I know it's not real, but I don't know why I keep seeing these disconnected things. It's like waking sleep.

And here's the kicker: I only realize for about five minutes at a time that this isn't normal... that not everyone feels this way. The rest of the time, I'm totally convinced that it's okay—that it's normal to not want to live, to not be able to sleep, to cry for nothing... So I can't tell anyone how I'm feeling or ask for advice. Honestly, writing this whole post probably feels pointless now.
Is this an actual illness, or am I just being normal??

It's perfectly normal if you're constantly abusing pills, man. Just quit cold turkey and you'll start seeing things change in about 6 months.

Until then... maybe try sipping on some damn poppy tea instead.

placidjackal36 said:Honestly, looking at those numbers doesn't tell you much. Here's the thing: anorexia isn't defined by how much you weigh; it's about your headspace and your relationship with food. It's become this weird modern trend where we label skinny people as having eating disorders while making excuses for overweight people by blaming "metabolic issues." That's just a byproduct of our culture today—the media pumps out this filtered, unrealistic image of perfection that has absolutely nothing to do with having a healthy, well-proportioned body.

Man, tell me about it... I used to be overweight, so back then I wasn't even allowed more than one tiny little bite...

And obviously, I wanted way more than that... so I figured, hey, let me drop some weight so I can finally go ham on some dessert...

Now my grandma would bake me any kind of cake, pastry, or sweet imaginable—hell, she'd make me a full-on feast—just because she wants to see me actually eating something...

The human psyche is just messed up, seriously.

What I meant was, maybe she didn't exactly adore you back then, but hey, you're saying you were heavy. Sounds like you had a sensible grandma...

Or you're just making up stories about the sunce. 🙂

I think that's just a "tradition" in pretty much any rural area.

Man, I only hold a grudge against her because I'm dealing with all these issues today trying to drop weight... partly just so I can finally smash those killer pies without feeling like crap afterward...

Back in the day, like ten years ago, I actually weighed more than I do now... honestly, I’m basically back to the same weight I was around fifth grade, give or take a year...

Man, I was just a kid back then, this was over 10 years ago... yeah, I was huge...

I was hanging out at my grandma's with my cousin (we're the same age), basically she was babysitting us...
...I was the chubby one so I wasn't allowed more than one slice of that pie, while my cousin was super skinny and could eat the whole damn thing...

Now that I'm basically anorexic... now everyone wants me to bulk up... but man, it's just not happening right now 🙂

placidjackal36 said:Was your grandma some kind of wealthy socialite back in her heyday?

It's irrational. People tend to act completely irrational when they're in love.

Nah, she lived out in the Midwest until she was about 16...
and after that, she was just scraping by in NYC, totally broke, struggling to make ends meet and all that stuff...
