We were recently in top form, looking absolutely convincing on the pitch, only to have everything fall apart in the semifinals. Why? Well, we touched on this before, but there was one crucial factor we overlooked. We were stuck in an absolute gauntlet of a group. The Americans were just strolling through, even managing a loss against Iceland that kept them from taking first place in the group. Then they had to grind out a tough match against the Spaniards, which lasted until the very end—and honestly, even we Americans didn't quite make it to the finish line there. After we slogged through six grueling matches while they only dealt with one real struggle, you can see where the fatigue sets in. We ended up facing the Canadians for bronze because, frankly, we were just better, despite the mental exhaustion. Now, let's see if the Americans have to deal with Iceland again, followed by the Spaniards and then the Danes (though their group was practically handed to them on a silver platter). If they manage to push through all that and somehow still show up to the final feeling fresh, focused, and ready to take us down—assuming we even make it to the final at this point—then what is there left to discuss? 🤷
Hmm, consider this scenario. They only seem to get a full house when they’re playing, and goodness knows, they’re always loud. They really can't afford a loss tomorrow. It would be a massive blow to their momentum. In an environment like that, once you hit the quarterfinals and the stakes skyrocket, I wouldn't even dream of betting on the French. Those vuvuzelas absolutely wrecked us back in 2009; that wasn't exactly the kind of atmosphere that helps a French collapse. Actually, if we're being honest, the French fell in the semifinals back in 2007 after 100 overtime periods and some questionable officiating, right in the middle of that chaos where Germany had to fight their way through. Something similar could very well happen here. Next year at the European Championship in Denmark won't quite be "it," though. It'll be more like the 2011 final in Sweden—a packed house of Danes, only for the guys from guza to snatch the title.
It’s funny how he keeps pushing that tired old cliché about playing for the win while simultaneously talking about avoiding the Frenchmen. To me, that sounds like total tanking—no doubt about it.
I have a feeling our decision to let them play tomorrow is going to come back to haunt us when we inevitably get crushed by the Spaniards in the finals. It’s almost a certainty.
Look, guys, this isn't 2007. If we spend the whole game running away from the Frenchmen, we’re basically begging for a loss. And if you’re going to brag about how good we are, then maybe—just maybe—actually play like it.
Besides, once those refs (yeah, I said it) start making calls against us tomorrow...🙄

Honestly, I think the coefficient is a bit too high here. It feels like they just set it based on the current number of teams, if you ask me.
It probably should have gone through without much trouble.
True, but you have to consider Joakim. He’s seeing fewer touches lately, so he might actually find his rhythm if the OKC Thunder defense continues to be this porous. It's also possible the coaching staff has some specific plays cooked up for him. Carlos Boozer really gave us a run for our money last year with those limits; Bones and I definitely felt the sting while trying to chase his points and the overs/unders. Personally, I’d probably pass on this one and call it a no bet, but hey, best of luck to you.
graniteotter6 said:@euskal LeBron James over 26.5 This could work if it’s a random matchup, but if the winner is decided too quickly... well, you know how that goes.I’m leaning toward taking Bosh over today. This feels like one of those matchups that serves as the perfect stage for him to put on a bit of a show, and I suspect he might see some significant minutes. For that same reason, I’d say go with Wade under. I’m leaning toward the Houston vs. Portland under for the 203.5 line. Just a feeling, I guess. I’m expecting a high-scoring affair here. Houston is scoring at an incredible rate right now, their offense is flowing perfectly, and James Harden is playing out of his mind—averaging 41 PPG is just insane. I suspect Portland might actually struggle to keep up with that kind of pace. Even if they aren't exactly lighting it up from deep.My thoughts on this one—I’m leaning toward a 110-92 finish, which would mean covering the spread for Houston. Tony Parker over 18.5 I tend to steer clear of betting on the San Antonio Spurs because Greg Popovich plays such a complex chemistry game with his roster. You never really know which player he’s going to give a specific role to on any given night. Today's matchup seems like the perfect setup for one of those unpredictable shifts, so I think I'll pass on this one. I’m leaning toward Jennings over 17.5. This is my pick of the day. Nailed it. 👍
Boldano got hit, but everything else is just pure bullshit.🤦 I’m still trying to find my footing with the season, but I have a feeling it isn't going to be easy. Well, look at tonight's results. The Denver Nuggets went way over—which, if you ask me, means we should probably start looking at the Miami Heat over for future games; there's a pattern emerging there. Then you have the New Orleans Pelicans playing without Anthony Davis right after that back-to-back against the Utah Jazz, only to end up losing to the Chicago Bulls, 12 to 1. To top it all off, both Dallas and Charlotte went massively over. 😲The Indiana Pacers aren't even getting a decent seeding in the regular season, and honestly, their roster feels like a collection of inconsistent pieces that you just can't rely on. To make matters worse, I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers end up handing a loss to the Warriors just for the icing on the cake. It’s been a rough day across the board, both in soccer and the NBA.
@euskal LeBron James over 26.5 This might land if the game turns into a total random toss-up, but if the winner is decided quickly... well, you know how that goes. Personally, I’m leaning toward Bosh over today; this looks like one of those perfect matchups for him to put on a little show, and I suspect he'll see plenty of minutes. For that same reason, I'd say Wade under. Houston (203.5)-Portland under I actually disagree here and expect a blowout. Houston scores plenty and plays a really fluid style, especially with James Harden in such incredible form (averaging 41 PPG!!!). Portland might be able to keep up with the pace, even if they aren't exactly sharpshooters from deep. My gut says something like 110-92, which would mean taking the spread with Houston. Tony Parker over 18.5 I generally try to avoid betting on San Antonio Spurs players because Greg Popovich runs such a tight chemistry-based system that you never truly know who he's going to give the green light to. Today's opponent is exactly the kind of matchup that makes them unpredictable, so I’d probably pass on this one. Jennings over 17.5 This is my lock for the day, no question about it.👍
wiredcanyon39 said:New season, let's start things off with a smaller play. Wade under 24.5 @1.85 3/10 Wade’s numbers seem to be trending downward as he gets older; last year he was frequently below this line, so I expect the same pattern this season. LeBron is at his absolute peak right now, and with guys like Chalmers, Bosh, Allen, and Lewis on the roster, the pressure isn't entirely on Wade to carry the scoring load just to win games. Plus, Boston has some serious depth in the paint, which should theoretically limit Wade's ability to drive to the rim. He also stayed under this line during the preseason, though I suppose that doesn't mean much—still, it feels like a decent little plus for this bet. Good luck!
Even in the playoffs against Boston, this margin would have been well within reach for him. It looks like a safe bet.
I guess I agree with stormyseal9 regarding the attempt at an "upset" pick for Cleveland.
That’s just Westbrook for you. Ideally, he’d play in Orlando; they’d be knocked out immediately, and I wouldn't have to deal with two headaches during the regular season.
Arthur Hill2 said:If my memory serves me right, this player's assist numbers were consistently hitting the under, with just one exception. I specifically recall a stretch where they hit the under two days in a row.
👋 I do seem to remember something from last year, though. Wade always seemed to land on the over when it came to assists.😉
This 1.4 line for Indiana feels like a gift from above. I’m expecting a significant drop in the odds tomorrow along with a bump in the spread. Regardless, it should land where it lands. I’d probably take the Chicago handicap as well, or maybe go for a heavy under on the total points. I wouldn't touch the other two games just yet; I'll let them play that first one and see how things develop, though even those aren't particularly controversial in my view.
The favorites just racked up 13 wins, yet here we are, still overanalyzing and making things up in our heads. Great. Honestly, we might as well just give up collectively; a run like this isn't going to happen again anytime soon.
Here’s an over prediction: if Philly could manage 90 yesterday, they can probably hit 88 today. Almost all their games end up over 2, including 10 out of their last 13. It’s almost like we're watching the final round of the World Cup or some major European soccer tournament.🤣
Here we go again, you vultures 😁 Man, how did you miss the hint that I wasn't actually playing this one? 😉 You really should have waited to see my actual slip before jumping the gun... you know how the drill goes. Whatever, I'll see you all during the playoffs, though I won't be around this Saturday—just when things are getting interesting. But the matchups should be out by tomorrow, so hopefully we can get down to business then.
Honestly, damn it, it’s not even just an "under" night; it’s a total blowout of unders. What are they even looking at? Ten games in, and nobody has even hit 15 points halfway through the first quarter. 🤷
Dana Baker2 said:Look, when graniteotter6 and I are on the same page, everything usually goes pretty smoothly. 🤣
That’s just me. I already told you—I was busy working through an analysis, so I haven't finished breaking everything down yet. Now, I don't even have the time to actually "post" anything here. I might as well just steal a few bucks from you, since I'll be posting my picks here regardless. 😉
Let me weigh in on that. We should probably keep that phrase "it’s an unders night" in mind.
You explained everything quite clearly, but I think you're looking at too many matchups; there will likely be more mines than you're expecting. Sistemčić is right, but I'm heading off to work now.
I was a little late getting my Toronto spread in—doesn't necessarily mean anything, I suppose—but... hey, the feeling is there. It feels like we're looking at a massive win in two hours.
