You're likely thinking of fondant. Honestly, the taste is off—at least for me. It’s nowhere near actual marzipan. I can't stand it; it's just cloyingly sweet. I always end up scraping it off cakes and leaving it on the side. Still, for decoration, it works. Maybe try topping it with whipped cream or a white chocolate glaze?
I personally loved the dark chocolate glaze with those little "crunchies," so that's what we ordered. This was how it looked:
Vince does the same thing, though if I recall correctly, one was about $10. M&M’s makes them too, but they’re still pricier than a standard slice of cake at a diner. I wanted them so badly, honestly, but the price tag eventually killed the craving.
Jason Jackson4 said:Hey ladies, I was wondering if any of you have heard of Victoria Petrovic? She’s a makeup artist based out of Indianapolis... I’ve been searching forever for someone to handle my wedding makeup, and honestly, nobody really impressed me until I stumbled upon her Facebook page. Her work is incredible—she really highlights every detail without making it look like some heavy mask, which is exactly the vibe I'm going for. I actually liked her style so much that I’m planning to let her do my makeup without even doing a trial run. If she weren't all the way in 186 miles, I might consider a consultation, but at this point, I just trust my gut. I'd love to hear from anyone here who has actually used her services before 🙂
Jason, I moved your post over to this thread. The girls have been discussing Victoria here, so just check out the previous posts. 😉

Check out this thread. There’s some solid advice in there. 😉

My point was more about the lack of substance in what they're selling and the overall attitude toward the work. As for that double deposit thing, I don't know... what's the actual benefit if someone flakes at the last minute and you're left scrambling for a replacement anyway?
Sure, there isn't much gain then. But if someone's going to screw me over, I'd rather they pay $100 or more for the trouble than just walk away without any consequences at all.😉
Maybe it's too early in the morning for me, because I'm having a hard time following this post by Johnson.
If a client pays a deposit and then backs out, the contractor keeps it. If the contractor pulls the plug, they have to pay back double. That’s just how the law works here.
That’s why when we were planning our wedding, we didn't hesitate to put down deposits with everyone we signed contracts with. 😁 Unfortunately, basic decency seems to be a dying breed these days. I'd rather play it safe, especially when we're talking about thousands of dollars. 🤷
When someone shows up here with only three posts under their belt and immediately starts raving about a photographer, a band, or some florist... we’re going to assume it’s a paid plug. We work too hard to scrub undercover advertising from this board to let it slide. Sorry, but those are the rules, and we’re deleting these recommendations.
If you have issues with moderation, take them to my DMs. Let’s keep this thread strictly for advice and planning weddings in California. Thanks.
Just a heads-up—I picked up some label remover from a local office supply store; it’s this liquid in a roller bottle. You just coat the sticker, let it sit for a few minutes, and then 😉 it comes right off without any hassle.

John Doe is also helping preserve our musical heritage. He's a violin and shawm instructor who has trained countless young, now famous, musicians at his school. So far, over 200 students from the USA, Canada, and Austria have passed through his doors. Currently, two members of our Club, Peter Andreas Rajkovača and Mario Katić, are studying at his music school, and we hope they master these instruments. Other talents from the region, such as Matt and the Jelić brothers, Ivan Martinović, Perica Nikić, and many others, have also studied here.
