It looks like there is some seriously heavy subtext behind this whole situation.

I'll never find another guy like him; he was truly one of a kind.

Oh my God! You've got to be kidding me!😲
I am so incredibly sorry!😢
casualtiger19 said:Hi everyone. My dad hasn't been feeling great lately. He's dropped about 22 pounds, gets these sudden dizzy spells where his vision goes dark, and he’s constantly thirsty—even though he claims his mouth feels bone-dry and his saliva is thick, almost like curdled milk.

He hasn't seen a doctor yet because he's always working and can't find the time. Lately, he's also been under an incredible amount of stress.

Can anyone tell me what might be going on?

To be perfectly blunt, none of that sounds good at all, and honestly, the only person who can actually give him an answer is a doctor.

We'll get this sorted out.

What you're going through right now is easily the worst part. For me personally, facing this head-on was the most brutal emotional and mental experience imaginable. You're essentially in shock right now. But once that wears off, the real fight begins, and you'll have to process everything—not because you want to, but because there's no other way. You'll pull yourself together faster than you think.
Nothing is lost, and I truly believe he’ll be back in the water diving again one day.
He’s going to be fine because he has to be, and he has people counting on him.😉 He’s an athlete, and athletes possess something others don't: an iron will, incredible self-suggestion, and a relentless persistence. When things hit the fan, they know how to pick themselves up off the floor. That alone puts him a step ahead of everyone else, regardless of how things look right now.
Just stay brave and hold your ground like the strong woman you've always been. Don't let them see you flicker. 👍
Casey Palmer5 said:So, here I am again, back in your lives—or rather, back to my life being stuck on pause.

Goddammit.😢
Honestly, I just don't get it. What on earth is happening with all these young people ending up in comas?🤷
You’ve actually got a solid thread going over at the New Day Cancer Forum... There are plenty of good stories and some pretty rough ones in there, too, but honestly, you can learn a hell of a lot from them. Getting that kind of insight early on gives you a massive head start in staying one step ahead of the tumor.
Hang in there and let it all out—just don't do it in front of him!
Kate Doyle45 said:My sister is heading into her eleventh surgery today... they claim this is the final one, but they say that every single time. Every time, the anesthesia gets harder to handle, the recovery takes longer, and she—along with all of us supporting her—just ends up feeling more broken.

I was watching a program yesterday about a young girl who had a benign tumor in a location so highly vascularized it was considered inoperable, leaving her facing certain death. They ended up putting her on chemotherapy, which shrunk the tumor down enough that they could finally take it out easily.
Look into that possibility.

Stop being miserable! You have to be her rock, encouraging her and convincing her that things will turn around, that life will improve, and that she can live a happy life despite all this.
Whether tumors are benign or malignant, they feed on bad emotions and negative vibra, while positivity kills them off—that’s a proven fact!

Oh, really?🙄
By that logic, we should just encourage everyone to stop using condoms entirely, since they clearly weren't part of the unlucky group that actually caught something.

HIV is spread through unprotected sex, and if you want to play games with statistics, go talk to the Pope. 👍

Joseph Thompson3 said:The odds of you catching HIV are basically zero... practically non-existent. Honestly, I’ve already typed way too much.
Contrary to what everyone thinks, HIV isn't actually that easy to catch. If she were positive and you had unprotected sex, massive is how I'd describe the probability that you would walk away totally fine.

Seriously, tell me where you learned to polish a diamond like that... because you really outdid yourself here.😳

@jožamiško
There are plenty of threads about HIV; you just clearly don't know how to use Google properly.

Maybe you managed to sweep up a whole swarm of viruses and bacteria—everything from gonorrhea and herpes to hepatitis, whatever acronym you want to throw at it—all the way up to HIV, regardless of how slim the chances might be... but hey, don't sweat it; by God's grace, everything works out in the end.

The verdict: Exelon is positive. 🤷

There you have it.🙄

I really hope they caught it early while it's still in the acute stage; it's much easier to manage then.
Boost your immune system! Everyone living under your roof and those close to you absolutely need to get tested too—if they come back negative, they should definitely get vaccinated.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, I don’t really have a choice here; I’ve gotta go see a doctor because there's just no other way around it. But honestly, what is a general dentist even supposed to do for me when the real culprit is this relentless stomach acid?

They'll probably just refer you back to a primary care physician.😁
You need to treat the cause, not just the symptom.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Angela Wright, I’m completely in the dark here—how do you actually deal with stomach issues? I haven't got the slightest clue how to handle this kind of thing myself.

Look, the standard playbook is simple: you head to your primary care physician first. They’ll run through an exam and, if they suspect you're dealing with gastritis, they'll likely toss you a prescription for something like Pepcid or Prilosec. If you aren't feeling better after a bit, they'll write you a referral to see a gastroenterologist.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, I deal with some pretty intense acid reflux myself, but I honestly had no clue it could actually trigger this kind of stuff. Is there any actual medical consensus that stomach acid is the culprit behind afta outbreaks? And if it is, can you even fix the underlying issue? Because from what I've gathered, dealing with acid issues feels like a losing battle you just can't quite win.

It’s common sense and medically sound. That acid is eating away at your oral environment, throwing off your pH balance and creating the perfect breeding ground for afta.
My boyfriend suffers from GERD, and he gets them constantly. The second he gets his diet under control and restarts his stomach medication, those sores just vanish.

Get your stomach issues sorted and the afta will follow suit.

Are we talking GERD or just standard gastritis here?
Have you been tested for H. pylori? If that bacteria is present, you have to treat the infection. If you let it slide, you're looking at serious complications down the road—we're talking full-blown stomach cancer if it isn't handled.

Get a stomach exam. It’s entirely possible you're dealing with acid reflux bubbling up from your gut.

Hannah Jones17 said:My mom just had an ultrasound on her liver, and the results were pretty unsettling. It’s full of cysts, with the largest one hitting about 4.5 cm. Has anyone here dealt with this before? Does anyone know if there’s a specific medication or maybe some natural remedies, like certain teas, that could help clear this up? Her liver function tests actually came back normal, so everything seems to be working fine otherwise..

There isn't much you can do at this stage. She just needs to monitor it and try not to stress out too much—you don't want her worrying herself into a state that puts extra strain on her liver.
Silymarin is a really solid option for helping the liver regenerate.👍
Does anyone have an update on her?
She hasn't logged onto the forum since March 3rd.

I'm just hoping everything is okay.😢
Reach out when you can, girl!

Jamie Howard3 said:Thanks, you guys really helped ease my mind a bit. 🙄

Look, I wasn't trying to scare you; I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the possibility.
You absolutely need to get tested for hepatitis. When it comes to treatment, catching it during the acute stage is everything before it turns into a chronic issue. And definitely get an abdominal ultrasound.

Everything else mentioned could very well be what you're dealing with. You need to go get some tests done.

Jamie Howard3 said:During some routine checkups, I found out my AST and ALT levels are spiked—like, double the normal limit. They’re saying it’s liver-related, 🤷...but I don't smoke, I only have a glass of wine once in a while, I don't eat junk, and I'm in great shape physically. My blood pressure is 140/80 and everything else seems fine. What could these numbers actually mean?? 😕I've already had bloodwork done and am just waiting on the results. 👍☕

That could point toward a Hepatitis infection. You need to get specific markers tested immediately, because honestly, catching Hepatitis these days isn't exactly a rare occurrence. Have you had any unprotected encounters lately?
Kate Doyle45 said:It kept coming back during my PhD studies... it’s definitely some kind of bone tumor, though thankfully it isn't a sarcoma or anything quite that extreme. Thank you for the support... it really means a lot.

It sounds like it might be an osteoma then. Those things love to recur. A buddy of mine had one on his scalp; fortunately, his didn't come back. I wouldn't touch anything containing calcium if I were you. Look, just get a definitive diagnosis first, and once you have that, I'll reach out to my oncologist to see whether they handle aggressive cases like this with radiation or chemo.
Kate Doyle45 said:I don't have the paperwork on hand since everything is sitting at the hospital with her, but unfortunately, this is already the third time they've given us this exact same opinion. They’ve pulled all her teeth on both sides, and her last surgery was back in December. Now she’s here for a follow-up to see if a dentist can finally reconstruct her smile, because the evil just came crawling back. On top of that, she's been hit with so much anesthesia. They actually pulled her from the schedule today because they want to run more tests before tomorrow. It makes me want to scream... crying just doesn't cut it anymore.

Unbelievable.😲
Please, let me know the specifics once you find out; we'll try to dig a little deeper into this. Honestly, even if it turns out to be cellularly benign, it’s acting aggressive enough to be malignant, and some form of chemo or radiation should be used to get it under control.😕
Don't lose hope; we'll figure something out.
Kate Doyle45 said:I just needed to come here and vent because I honestly don't know where else to turn... I don't want to weigh down my friends with this, and my parents are doing even worse than I am. Today, my sister is heading in for her tenth surgery for a jaw tumor that keeps coming back every three years. The doctors are basically at their wits' end; sure, the tumor isn't malignant, but there is nothing "benign" about it recurring this many times. They’re going to try treating her with Methotrexate. I’m terrified this thing is going to spread into her sinuses and the rest of her facial bones... it already moved from her upper jaw to her lower one. I am losing my mind with worry... she isn't even 28 yet.

Look, Kate, I don't know the specific diagnosis, but if you ask me, you need to go get a second opinion immediately. It’s frankly hard to wrap my head around how a benign tumor can be this aggressive and recurrent. Usually, when you're dealing with a benign growth, it stays put in one spot; it doesn't behave like this by spreading through different tissue types like it's hunting for new territory.
