Depressed Beaver said:it was actually a pretty decent thread😉

The only Damage is that he didn't include the Best Movie Deaths...🙂

quietdriver3 said:this thread is on life support😁

Hardly. Richard Hernandez13 started his own thread about movie props people actually want...🙂

Gade, you beat me to it. 🙂

Spanish Bulldog.

I went through 22 films on that list, but that doesn't prove much. Most of them are just those typical 8/10 flicks. You won't find anything like Acquire, Wrath of God, 12 Monkeys, or Casablanca in there... so the whole list is pretty much garbage. 👎

I didn't even realize she was a woman 😍

To be fair, I didn't either. I don't want to sound chauvinistic, but if a man had directed that, I think they would have botched the ending... 😁
But wasn't Point Break directed by a woman? 😁

It needs a solid soundtrack, visceral scenes, tight editing, and a sense of restraint...

Cobra - I loved this as a kid, but looking back at it now at 22, the whole thing is just one massive smoker's cliché...
Masters of the Universe - Careful now, I'm talking about the sequel, not the original. It felt like a decent follow-up when I was younger, but today? It's total garbage. Though, I will admit, that scene where the spiders crawl out of the villain is actually pretty good.
Mortal Kombat 2 - This was the first entry in the series for me, and I was obsessed. But once I finally sat down to watch the first one, I realized the second installment is absolute trash...
Xena, Warrior Princess - She was great when I was a kid, but as an adult, it's just bland, mindless nonsense for children.

David Price5 said:Romancing the Stone...does Crocodile Dundee count as an adventure film? IMDb lists it under adventure...

Of course it does. Just like George out in the jungle. Even King Kong has a bit of an adventurous side...

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers — even now, that movie still manages to put a smile on my face. 😍
And yes, Gremlins — that one is truly timeless.

Casablanca (in black and white), Maltese Falcon, and Citizen Kane.

Kill Bill

The thread title was 'RH and old adventure films'
Jose Chase2 started rambling about adventure movies because of Allan Quatermain, while I was focused on Ray Harryhausen.
There’s really no reason to have two separate threads covering practically the same ground...

They aren't the same. Ray was filming massive fantasy adventure spectacles, whereas Quatermain feels more like a parody of Indiana Jones. Besides, the name Ray Harryhausen naturally brings his own work to mind, not just random adventure flicks...

Richard Hernandez13 said:Since when did merging threads become "cluttering"...?

Durica is acting like a five-year-old...

Regardless, Jose Chase2 makes a fair point. He started a thread about adventure films in general, not specifically about Ray Harryhausen...🙂

A Clockwork Orange - it isn't nearly as ultra-violent as the sensitive types claim, but it’s an absolute masterpiece
Mad Max - even today, it holds up perfectly despite the age and the shoestring budget

It seems like the moderators have completely lost control today... 🙂

Not even Sinbad the sailor was mentioned, damn it. 😵

Jose Chase2 said:It’s fascinating how much great content can be found in the '!!BEST MOVIE TOPICS ON THE SUBFORUM!! ( Last update: 05.10.2006. )' thread. I'm sure crimsonmoose3 will find this particularly interesting 🙏

My bad, I completely lost track of that thread, even though it was the first thing I opened. 😁 I'll be digging up some old threads soon where I missed my chance to post. 🙂 🙂

Actually, that’s a sharp question. I could easily list some actresses, but female directors? 🤔
Thank God for Ravenous. 🙏 🙏 🙏
