driftingmason7 said:I don't see how what came before Wrong Turn matters. Whether there were similar movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre is irrelevant to me. What matters is that I actually found Wrong Turn interesting, whereas Texas Chainsaw Massacre was so tedious I think it might be the worst way I've ever spent $3.25 minutes
in my life.

Look, kid, are we talking about the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre being boring, or the remake? Furthermore, the point is that Wrong Turn isn't some groundbreaking original; it just lifts tropes from the classics without even trying to hide it. That’s exactly why this trash is actually watchable...

driftingmason7 said:Honestly, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is pure fiction compared to this movie. Wrong Turn used to be high up in my top ten, but better films have come along since. Still, I'm grateful for it... it taught me exactly who Eliza Dushku is.

First off, Wrong Turn is typically a garbage movie, and second, it’s total trash that only works because it scavenged ideas from actual cult classics. 🙂

Not happening. Here’s the profile link—figure it out yourself. Surely you aren't actually that lazy... 😁 😈

Ask Serge Cosmi. Tell him I sent you. 😁 👍 Just make sure you settle up the bill yourselves.

My apologies. I meant the Hill has eyes. 🙂 I'm clearly not firing on all cylinders today... having a bit of a rough one. 😢

wearycanyon55 said:Does anyone actually have this on DVD? It’s definitely one I’d want to add to my collection... 😬 😬

Thanks (beer included with the price of my DVD) 😁 😁 😁 😁

The movie is garbage. You're better off sticking to the actual classics like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre or The Last House on the Left, which this film just rips off. If you're really set on seeing mutants, just watch the remake of The Last House on the Left instead.

My Top 20 coolest icons:

1. James Dean - an absolute legend. 🙏
2. Elvis Presley - I watched a few of his movies as a kid; great singer, mediocre actor.
3. Steve McQueen - a top-tier cool actor, though perhaps not so much in real life, if you're into the whole hitting your own wife thing.
4. Muhammad Ali - I don't follow boxing that closely.
5. Robert De Niro - one of my favorites until he completely botched that series about analyzing those families.
6. Johnny Depp - a fantastic, cool actor; essential for those bizarre roles.
7. Bruce Lee - a legend...🙏
8. David Beckham - just an idiot with a ridiculous haircut.
9. Al Pacino - a cool actor, especially if you watch Scarface. 🙏
10. Justin Timberlake - what can I say about the guy who apparently has a small problem, according to Britney Spears. 😂 😂
11. Clint Eastwood - anyone who's seen The Deer Hunter knows he's one of my favorites. 🙏 🙏
12. Samuel L. Jackson - solid actor.
13. John Lennon
14. Madonna - 🙂
15. Brad Pitt - a decent guy.
16. Jimi Hendrix -
17. Frank Sinatra - a good actor and a "mobster."
18. Kurt Cobain - strange face...
19. Audrey Hepburn - she's attractive.
20. George Clooney - an irritating jerk; his only good role was in Return of the Killer Tomatoes. 😬

No Bruce Campbell? 🙂

Sid Vicious said:The ultimate example of a film that lacked any real artistic intent yet somehow stumbled into classic status is "Plan 9 from Outer Space."🙏 🙏

Tim Burton deserves credit for that, thanks to his masterpiece about Ed Wood.🙏 🙏 🙏

Nicholas Sullivan49 said:Liberation is that movie by John Borman—I can't remember the spelling—with Jon Voight, where he and his friends get harassed by those crazy hillbillies. There aren't any monsters in it at all!!!!!

Who do you think I am, you idiot? 🙂 You think I don't know what John Borman's Liberation is? 🙂 I've seen that movie more than once, I know its details, and I've brought it up several times before... yet here you are, trying to lecture me. 🙂

My apologies. You seemed to assume I was referring to that trashy monster horror flick about assaulting women. Not quite. I simply said I didn't recall the title, and this thread is specifically about films that accidentally became classics. As for Liberation, it wasn't even intended to be a classic, especially since the writer himself trashed the film, and the subject of male victimization was a massive taboo back then...

silentpilot6 said:What was the name of that trashy horror movie from the mid-eighties? You know, the one where these creatures—part fish, part swamp thing, some kind of freakish mess 😁—crawl out of the ocean and assault women?
They always pick the most ridiculous titles 😁

STrange, you've got it wrong. Either Jerry or Joshua Johnson67 would know the answer to that. I haven't seen it, nor have I heard anything about it... 😁 😲

That movie gets more attention for its assault scenes than any actual artistic merit. 👎

Deeply cynical. 😂 😁

Purely tasteless—some guy with a beard is running from zombies, fires his pistol, and misses, hitting an axe instead. He takes another shot, this time catching one right in the head and blowing its brains out. Blood splatters all over his face, and a chunk of skull ends up smeared across his pants. Just gross...

David Price5 said:You're complaining about a movie that’s actually original—no heavy CGI, no big studio backing, low budget, and zero star power... what more do you want from cinema? Isn't that how movies are supposed to be made?

Personally, I think they should have fired the cameraman. The footage is shaking so much it's practically obscene. 😂 😂 😂

Zachary Thompson9 said:It’s not a classic, it’s not Hollywood... it’s just completely off-topic😁
but for a while there, people were actually terrified by The Blair Witch Project. WHY, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE?

Marketing. The guys behind that movie flooded the internet with stories about this witch, trying to convince everyone she was real, while filming everything as if it were actual footage. Before the release, they leaked articles, creepy stories, photos, and fake news reports to trick people into believing the legend. Naive audiences bought tickets thinking they were seeing something real, only to end up watching a low-budget amateur production. It was all just a stunt.
