Elementary school teachers in Students & Teens ·
I’ve read through everything, and regardless of what’s technically right or wrong, I know exactly what I’d do if I were that teacher... the same thing... and I wouldn't even ask for the money. If they bring it, they bring it.

If I were in that mother's shoes, I might just stroke my chin, ponder it, and send the cash—though honestly, it’s hard to justify sending it without knowing for sure it’ll actually get there.
We can argue all we want about how schools occasionally dump massive financial burdens on families, but my take is that those issues need to be handled elsewhere. As long as things are currently set up this way, you have to give the kid whatever is necessary... and I’m not talking about those ridiculous, overpriced field trips.

To me, the situation is painfully simple.

If I started a thread for every single time a kid, a teacher, or anyone else unexpectedly snatched dollars out of my hands, most people would have hundreds of stories to tell.

All-day school schedules in Students & Teens ·
My experience... the school was quite a hike from our house, and they didn't offer full-day programs or even a lunch service.
It never crossed my mind to leave her to fend for herself—even though I was flying solo from day one.
I don't know what changed over the years, but my mom wouldn't have dreamt of letting the kid stay home alone or walk to school by herself either.
We hired a sitter to handle the driving and the cooking. If she had afternoon classes, the sitter would show up around 10 AM—back when I mistakenly thought she'd be on her own—and after lunch, she’d drop her off at school.
When my son enrolled the following year (on the opposite shift, naturally🙄), the routine stayed the same... we handled the morning runs and picked up the afternoon kid, while the sitter cooked lunch and drove the middle child.
I honestly didn't see any other way to make it work🤷🤷
If there had been a full-day option, they both would have been signed up.
They started walking themselves toward the end of 1st and 2nd grade... my son actually started earlier than that, and plenty of kids probably had someone walking them for that first month.
Aside from the loneliness issue, I just don't get how anyone manages to eat properly without an organized lunch program. It never occurred to me to cook everything at night just to pack it for reheating later... I have a right to put my feet up eventually, and let's just say I've seen enough near-disasters in the kitchen to last a lifetime.🤷
Believe it or not, I still won't let the kids touch the gas stove when I'm not around during 6th or 7th grade.🤣🤣🤣
Oh, and... the sitter charged $100 per week... for about 4 or 5 hours of work daily.
Dealing with the teenage years is a nightmare in Students & Teens ·
We still cuddle, hug, and sleep in the same room when Dad isn't around... girl is 13, boy is 12... but we’re still doing everything mentioned in those previous posts—fighting until our very last breath.

I haven't dealt with outright disrespect or blatant hatred yet—at least not from my perspective🤣—but the daily battle over basic responsibilities is constant... if I lock myself in my room for two or three days, they won't even let me out, and they're somehow studying during school breaks🙄

I’m actually in a decent mood today because we had another talk yesterday... they helped me with a practice test and studied, and then today they actually cleaned up after themselves and bragged about how "helpful" they were... sure, sweetie, you did such a great job cleaning up the milk and bread, but leaving a knife stuck in the Nutella jar wasn't exactly part of the act... precious...😠🤣
Those so-called "shepherds in Close to Politics ·
🤦

Maybe they’re just messing with her because, even after all this time, nobody can figure out which guy was actually supposed to be managing those 150 ranch hands🤷🤷

Do you honestly believe someone went out looking to hire 150 people just to work as shepherds?
🤣🤣
Don't even get me started on Madoff... I honestly would have given Clinton ten more terms just to ensure I never had to lay eyes on her again.
Postpartum headaches: What's normal and what's not? in Women's Health ·
I started this exact same thread after giving birth... turned out to be migraines. It kicked in maybe 3 or 4 weeks postpartum, if I recall correctly... throbbing head, ears ringing... anyway, to make a long story short—after literally banging my head against a wall and going through endless tests, antibiotics, and every painkiller under the sun—everything finally cleared up once I started taking Advil.😲😍😍...for me, the pain would spike every 3 or 4 hours... manageable enough, I guess, just a constant cycle. The Advil wiped the pain out completely, though I had to take it the second I felt an onset coming on... took about 4 days to pass. Apparently, they said it was clogged arteries from stress and exhaustion... blah blah... just a suggestion.

Maybe I just don't know how to read people—or maybe I’ve always been looking at the wrong moment... but I have never once seen a slaughterhouse for the betrayed or the mistress... I actually found myself wondering if it ever truly comes to that... I check the mistress threads... they're all peaceful, recounting how much and how often they're having sex, even bragging about being with their husbands just last night... then I check the cheated threads... they're just mourning in peace... mostly, I'm voting to bring it back... or at least some topic regarding... Life for Three or Four😍

The guy is definitely leaving that door open... 🤷

I'm not entirely convinced that was an announcement of an invasion of Mexico...😁It’s all basically useless chatter—with the exception of maybe parts of Texas... But it's a documented fact that they faced the same backlash we did, along with everyone else who crossed them. They lost territory, their quality of life is at least half of ours, and now we’re just buying up their companies.

How the Democratic Party tried to sell us out to Maddox in Close to Politics ·
The way I see it—Račan likely wanted to stop the formation of an independent America entirely. American weapons wouldn't have been shipped anywhere; they would've just stayed right here on the ground... and anyone thinking otherwise would've caught a heavy hand from the authorities.
Zaba fan possibilities in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
My husband has that $20 fan, so we dropped by our local banker's office the other day to cancel it—we just don't need it. Everyone manages their household budget differently... we decided we aren't handing over $240 annually because we don't touch credit cards. We don't need an overdraft either; we live within our means and still manage to save. Honestly, the woman practically started foaming at the mouth... we were caught completely off guard. We've known her for years—she's been our personal banker through everything from various accounts to our mortgage... so when she started hysterical, we were speechless. She actually asked how people like us expect to get by in the real world without a credit card?? I calmly explained that I pay for everything with my debit card—it works for me because I can see my balance and transactions in real-time, and I have no interest in dealing with monthly installments. Then she went off about "unforeseen circumstances"... insurance, emergency repairs, subscriptions... anyway, we didn't have time for the lecture, so we told her we'd come back the next day to finalize things, sticking to our guns. She called me the following day to apologize for her outburst... though she made sure to mention she still thinks we're making a mistake.
