honestly, you were incredibly rude in our private messages.

Apology accepted.😬

Now, I'm dying to know—what exactly went down in those DMs?🍿

Yeah, right... total nonsense.

Mark Perez2, I’ll send you the private number for the physical therapist who saved my life. My feet were so swollen I could barely walk, and she fixed me up almost entirely without me ever needing surgery. She’s the one you need to talk to. 🙂

Good luck.

p.s. I have your number now, so I'll PMnem you in a bit.

Adam Rodriguez6 said:It wasn't about being malicious, per se, but we are effectively paralyzed right now; ten people are out sick, yet this idiot is walking around the office today still coughing and sneezing away... it's just horrific. For me, it only lasted two days, which was plenty of time to completely ruin my weekend, and that's even with being vaccinated. That colleague really ought to take a moment to reflect on his behavior—I mean, we can barely convince him to take a shower or shave properly, so why should we expect him to understand basic oral hygiene?

Okay, look, the guy is a total jerk—that much is obvious. 😁

But maybe the boss forced him to come in? 😕

Anyway, jokes aside, I agree you shouldn't spread germs around, but I also get that sometimes working while sick is unavoidable (not saying that's the case here). Besides, I've honestly never seen someone with the flu infect every single living soul in their vicinity...

Then again... I don't know what kind of business your company actually does. 😁 😁

To circle back to the main point: is there actually any sensible way to prevent infection in these situations? Aside from vaccines, obviously... because I get vaccinated almost every year, and it hasn't stopped me from catching something at least once every six months...

goldentrucker11 said:Then there’s the whole issue of grammatical discrimination. It’s the oldest trick in the book—when someone realizes they can't actually counter your point or build a real argument, they suddenly pivot to nitpicking where you put a comma or whether you used a semicolon correctly instead of ☕
.
Honestly, it’s a bit pathetic. And besides, looking at half the Reddit users on this site, I don't even have a clue how old they actually are 🤷
.

Give me a break!!! There are plenty of ways to be discriminatory, but being literate isn't one of them. Just because someone failed to grasp basic English after twelve years of school (plus college, if they even bothered), it doesn't mean anyone else is "discriminating" against them when they feel physically ill reading it..

It’s two completely different things. They aren't even in the same universe.

Now, whether we should even bother addressing this or just ignore it is another debate entirely, but I am 100% with the people who occasionally snap at an adult typing out absolute gibberish like "definately," "should of," or "could of" etc..

That has zero to do with discrimination or lacking a real argument.. but hey, if calling out bad spelling makes you feel better, go ahead and rationalize it that way..

mistyscout6 said:She’s my girl—our girl, really. I got banned. It was basically like, "What are you even doing on this platform at your age?" And honestly, it wasn't even because I was being annoying or throwing shade at the topic we were discussing. It was just this blunt, heavy realization of how old I actually am.
Everything happens for a reason, I guess. Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick intro here. I guess I'll start things off with a little bit of a preface before I dive into the deep end.Honestly, the same thing happened to me. It’s that specific kind of feeling you get when a kid drops their favorite toy and it shatters right in front of them—that instant, desperate urge to just pick up all the pieces and try to glue them back together immediately.
I’m just gonna throw this out there right in the headline. If we haven't really put a label on this thing yet—or if we’re still waiting to find a better way to describe what’s actually happening here—I honestly think I’ve found the perfect term for it. I'd call it... So, I’ve been seeing people talk about K syndrome lately, and honestly, it’s kind of wild how much it gets under my skin. It’s one of those things that feels like everyone has an opinion on it, yet nobody seems to actually get what it’s doing to the vibe of the conversation. I guess I’m just being cynical, but there’s definitely something off about how it plays out in these threads. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it feels like once it starts, you can't really stop the momentum of it. (K as Charles).
Why though?
It’s going to happen just like Hemingway described—that moment when a chunk of the mainland just breaks off and slides into the ocean, and we won't even realize what happened until we notice there's less land beneath our feet.
Honestly, at my age, I’m either totally oblivious to how much time has passed or I just flat-out refuse to care. And honestly, who actually wants to be self-aware about that stuff? I guess I just spend my time staring at those trees I planted back when I was just a kid in middle school, checking to see how much they've actually grown.
Maybe some new Reddit user just signed up this very second, totally oblivious to the fact that K syndrome has been around forever. I bet they’ll be wandering around in confusion for a while, wondering "who bell..." every time they stumble upon it.

Here we go again... This is one of those posts where I honestly can't tell if the author is high or if I am. 😁

Just so I don't derail the thread (I realized my title was basically the whole point here): discriminating against someone based on anything—let alone their age—is absolutely insane. But honestly? I have my doubts that things actually went down exactly how mistyscout6 perceived them. I mean, come on, what moderator would ever actually allow something like that? In my opinion, this smells like a massive misunderstanding. 🙂

I honestly suspect that colleague had some ulterior motive. My situation is more like this: I end up catching practically every single virus that goes around, but it’s not because I want to—trust me, I’m absolutely dying in bed when it happens—it’s just because I simply have no choice.

If I’m out of commission, there’s nobody else to step up and handle my workload, which leaves the whole company in a total tailspin—basically paralyzed. Sure, I realize that’s more of a massive staffing issue at this point, but for now, that's the reality. It's completely out of my hands to fix, especially considering the current recession and whatever nonsense the boss is dealing with.

Besides, I don't recall ever passing anything on to anyone else... so it’s clearly not THAT contagious. I can't even remember catching anything from someone else, either. You just grit your teeth, power through, and you'll be fine. 🙂
How do I get to a small town in the Midwest? in Miscellaneous ·
rapidrider3 said:You hop on a bus headed for some small town in the Midwest, and boom—you’re already there the second you step off at the bus station! 🙏

Oh, man! This is absolutely hilarious! Pure gold! 🙂

Hey Nathan Ramirez59: I’ve been staring at this transit schedule for twenty minutes, and frankly, it’s an absolute joke. It is pure, unadulterated chaos. You’d think in a country as developed as ours, we could manage to coordinate a simple bus route without it looking like a toddler scribbled on a napkin, but apparently not. It is completely disorganized. How am I supposed to plan a trip when the timings feel more like "suggestions" than actual schedules? It’s like trying to navigate through a fog bank while blindfolded. You look at one line, then another, and nothing aligns. It makes zero sense. If you want people to actually use public transit instead of just driving their SUVs everywhere, you have to provide something reliable. This isn't reliability; it's a guessing game. It’s infuriating. We pay our taxes, we expect basic infrastructure to function, yet here we are, squinting at a digital mess that offers no clarity. It’s inefficient, it’s frustrating, and quite honestly, it’s an embarrassment to our local transit authorities. Fix it. Just type in that small town in the Midwest as your destination. You’ve got a bus running roughly every two hours—the first one rolls out at 6:00 AM and the last one doesn't leave until 7:10 PM. They all depart from the main bus station.

Sudden vision changes: What should I do? in Health ·
Thanks, everyone... 😘

The real issue here is that I’m already stone deaf—my eyesight is the only thing I have left going for me. If I start losing my vision too, I might as well just pack it all in and call it a day. 😬
Sudden vision changes: What should I do? in Health ·
Just a quick heads-up regarding the subreddits—please merge these if they’re being discussed elsewhere. The other threads might cover similar ground, but they didn't feel like the right fit for my specific headache..

First off, let me say this: people with much higher prescriptions are probably going to roll their eyes at me, but this is genuinely stressing me out..

Here’s the deal: I’m 32 years old, and for most of my life, my vision was basically perfect. Then, suddenly, I realized I was struggling to read things at a distance—things like subtitles, news tickers, or street signs. About six months ago, I went in for an eye exam, and they gave me a prescription for -0.5..

That seemed fine enough. But then, just three months later, I noticed something weird: the glasses that were making a massive difference when I first got them aren't doing nearly as much heavy lifting anymore..

So, I go back for another checkup: -0.75

In just three months?! 😢

Look, I know these are tiny numbers. And I’ll admit, I haven't seen a specialist ophthalmologist yet—just two different opticians at local shops to be safe—but the speed of this decline is what's driving me crazy. To make matters worse, even a month after that second checkup, it feels like my vision is actually getting worse when I *don't* have the glasses on. Before, I only reached for them for driving or watching TV; now, I feel like I need them for everything..

Can anyone with more experience in this area give me some advice or even just a sanity check? 🙂

Thanks in advance
You can find them just about everywhere. For instance, they’re stocked in those upscale tobacco shops, or that place called Cigar Shop—I think it’s located over in the King Cross area.

They used to have them at Lovac, at least a few years back. I know there was one right near Downtown on Tesla Street. And I can't remember if that scout supply store over by Križanić is still open... it was there ages ago when I was still in school.😁..

Based on what I’ve seen here, I personally don't think you were trolling at all. Honestly, I don't even see the issue. 🤷

But I also highly doubt that MrBeast made it his life's mission to harass you out of pure malice. 😁

There is definitely a reason for this—even if it's just a massive misunderstanding. 🙂

Lisa Taylor said:I don't get why people who are buddies with Till are getting signed up for roles 😕 what does that even have to do with the topic at hand? If you want her so bad, just take her home, but let some normal woman handle the moderation.

Oh, how helpful of you to have someone to suggest, isn't it? 😁

Honestly, it’s a universal rule on this forum and everywhere else—when things start going downhill, passions flare up, and everyone starts foaming at the mouth (usually because they provoked it themselves), they resort to the oldest trick in the book: when you can't win an argument against your opponent, go scream at the moderator!

Look, I'm not saying moderators are perfect, but if you're going to label someone a "total failure," you should probably bring more to the table than just "everyone was being rude." And frankly, I'm confused—in one post she's incompetent because she didn't punish the rudeness, and in the next, she's incompetent because she's handing out too many bans and being too strict.

Until we find a moderator who can somehow juggle both the carrot and the stick—finding a way to satisfy the people who got hit with the stick so they don't whine about not getting the carrot, and vice versa—threads like this will keep blooming. Forever.

And that's fine. That's why this place exists.

But man, how many times have I seen these "kill the moderator" crusades? If something specific bothers you—and I mean specifically, not just a general grievance 😁—then say it. You can't call someone universally incompetent just because some third party trashed a thread that was going to be dead in two days anyway.

Total bullshit.

Look, I’ll start with a disclaimer: I haven’t even read the specific thread in question. But claiming that Till is a bad moderator? That is a massive miss. You guys are completely losing the plot... just look at what you wrote above.

I’m standing my ground on this, and I’m basing it on several years spent on this forum, both alongside Till as a fellow user and observing her work as a moderator.

So, seriously—cut out the drama. Even if everything you're saying about this thread is true, it's hardly a national tragedy. Someone made a mess of a topic. Boo-fucking-hoo. Grow up! ☕
