Thank God, I’ve been in the clear for the last few years. Growing up, they hit me so frequently that there's still a visible scar right on the corner of my lip. Back then, finding that Virolex everyone swears by was impossible, so I can't speak from experience. I haven't tried Acyclovir either, but if one were to pop up right now, I’d definitely grab the Virolex.
From what I know, you can order it at that pharmacy over by Dolac. They might even have it in general retail stores by now.
On my mom’s side and my dad’s side, it’s been nothing but cancer. Every single one of them. My fiancé passed away from it. Even my boss is battling it right now—it’s already metastasized. Honestly, I am terrified of this disease. It feels like I'm constantly surrounded by it, and if we're looking at the genetic blueprint here, it’s probably just my turn waiting in the wings. 😢
Robin Cooper said:Look, if you can handle it, fine, because things were manageable for me until recently, but I’m starting this whole thread precisely because the ringing has ramped up. It means I need to get to a specialist ASAP...
For me, it hasn't gotten any worse yet (and honestly, I'm praying to every god in the sky that stays that way)... plus, I've picked up a few tricks to distract myself from the noise..
- I always sleep with the TV on. If that's too much for you, try some low-volume radio or white noise..
- I never, ever sleep pressing my ear directly into the pillow. That makes the ringing sound absolutely deafening—like a siren in your skull. Instead, I rest my ear against the edge of the pillow so nothing blocks the outer ear and the sound stays muffled..
- Mental discipline. Since I struggle with panic attacks (and believe me, that's a one-way ticket to seeing a psychiatrist), I've learned how to forcefully shift my focus whenever the noise starts driving me crazy..

It feels totally unrelated to the seizures. My best advice is to go see a neurologist immediately. They’re the specialists; they actually deal with this stuff for a living. Everyone is different, though. As for a cure: my doctor just told me to take some supplements for three months and call it a day. Seriously, see a neurologist first, then you'll figure out your next move. Later. 😉
Alright, thanks... I really hope things turn around for you soon. 🙂
Robin Cooper said:Robin Cooper, my neurologist recommended a drug called Urtual. Here’s the direct copy-paste from the instructions: "Betahistine is a neurological medication used to treat vertigo. It's specifically indicated for Meniere's disease symptoms, which include: dizziness accompanied by nausea and vomiting, hearing loss, and tinnitus or ringing in the ears." It's a solid medication, but you really ought to run it by your doctor first—ideally a neurologist or even just your primary care physician—since you need a prescription for it. Best, 👋
A neurologist? So, similar to what my doctor suggested? Did she mention the specific cause or if there's an actual cure?
swiftscout8 said:Man, that sounds like hearing loss to me. Just go see an ENT specialist and find out for sure.
It doesn't have to be that... I know that sound well, and it isn't hearing damage. (I'm telling you—it sounds more like a whistling tea kettle or that static buzz from an old TV when there's no signal)
But look, seeing an ENT is definitely the right first step. 🙂
Exactly... look, stop digging through medical forums online. Either go see a specialist or don't, but if you choose to stay home, learn the art of ignoring the noise. Nothing you read in some dark corner of the internet is going to make you feel better. Trust me, I know exactly what you mean, 😢
Robin Cooper said:Is anyone else on here dealing with this nightmare? I’ve been living with this condition for as long as I can remember. Honestly, I never even bothered seeing an ENT. I just got discouraged by all the doom and gloom online saying there’s no cure, and besides, the ringing was never loud enough to actually ruin my life. But things have changed. For the last couple of months, it’s gotten significantly worse. I’m finally considering booking an appointment with a specialist, but before I do, I would truly value any insight or firsthand experience anyone can share about this condition. 😢
Tinnitus... I've been stuck with it for ten years now. It’s like I fried some circuit in my brain back when I let myself get blasted by those obnoxious electronic music sets at a club—music I’ve always hated, anyway. 🙄
I went for a hearing test and everything came back perfectly normal. I haven't gone back since, but there's this constant, piercing sound in my head—like that high-pitched whine you used to hear from an old tube TV.
Lisa Myers37 said:Maybe the guy was just having an off day. Like I said, both Bunce and Stella were perfectly fine with me, the time flew by, and nobody caused any trouble. 🙂
Nope—I’ve spoken to at least ten different people over the years and they all have the exact same complaint. Granted, I don't know Stella... she wasn't even around back then. But when it comes to Bunce? It's a pattern. 🙂
Lisa Myers37 said:I can only speak for the specific shop where I actually got my ink 🙂. Gandalf is the only one I’ll vouch for, and let me tell you, they’re the best. Hygiene is their top priority—you honestly don't have to worry about a thing when you go to them. 👍
I went to them for my very first tattoo... and that was it for me. Look, I have zero complaints about the actual art, but that sour-faced, grumpy guy? I never want to deal with that kind of attitude ever again in my life. ☕
Two and a half hours spent in an incredibly awkward and just plain stupid atmosphere..
I always had a blast with Robby and Senf, and they do killer work too 👍
Absolutely disgraceful. 😬What is he even rambling about? Instead of talking, he should be honored to have your foot crushed against his skull while I let out a melodic scream. 🤣
Nancy Kim2 said:Looking for a movie recommendation where you can actually talk over the screen, crack jokes, and mess with everyone around you without feeling like a jerk? You want that kind of flick where the audience isn't just sitting there like statues—you want a movie where the crowd is part of the damn show. 😁
You’re just standing there, grinning like an idiot while someone taps you on the shoulder with a baseball bat.😬
