He never actually said they were his best friend 🤔
I honestly don't see any reason why he should forgive anyone's debt. I mean, someone who borrows cash should probably realize they eventually have to pay it back . Marko mentioned he asked for the money because he’s got bills coming up soon. Like, should he just lose out on his own cash just because his buddy has zero shame? I don't get it.
Richard Campbell56 said:Hey everyone. A specialist recently ordered an MSCT of my brain and an EEG for me. I’ll post the results here—if anyone with actual expertise can help make sense of this, I’d really appreciate it. Here's what we've got: MSCT of the brain: Brain parenchyma densities, both infra- and supratentorial, appear normal. No focal lesions were identified. Ventricular structures are midline. There is bilateral enlargement of the lateral ventricles—slightly more pronounced on the left side—in the posterior regions and near the trigone area.
EEG: Occasional slower waves in the theta frequency range appear as subdominant activity over the temporal regions. No convincing asymmetries or paroxysms were noted. The reactivity/blocking response is well-expressed, and there are no changes during US Army maneuvers. The EEG result is borderline.
If you don't get any bites here, try checking out the Pfizer forums. They deal with reading these kinds of reports too.🙂
The biggest screw-up we all make is thinking everything revolves around our own point of view. At least, that’s how it’s always played out for me. People usually end up doing the exact opposite of what you had in your head.
People are unpredictable, I guess. Not trying to make excuses for my buddy here, but he lent money back when things were solid. He had a steady gig and probably thought, "No biggie, I'll have this back to you in a month," only to have that happen a few times before he lost his job. Now? He might actually be struggling to scrape it together. Still, that’s his mess to clean up, not yours.
Lesson learned: don't go handing out cash so easily in the future. So many friendships have gone down the drain because of this exact thing. Like you said, people just assume you'll bail them out because that's what you do. But honestly, making $2,500 isn't some charity fund meant for everyone else. You didn't get that paycheck as a gift to hand out to whoever asks—what you do with your own money is your business. 🙂
Look, I’m rooting for you either way—really hope you get your money back. Honestly, though, I think bringing up interest rates right now might be a bit much. 😬
I'm honestly not sure what the best way is to send money over to Mexico besides just using Western Union, and from what I've heard, those transfer fees are absolutely brutal.
EDIT So, here it says if you're sending anything between 0 and $167, the fee is $17.
Flip the script for a second. Imagine you’re the one who lent the cash. If you weren't planning on paying it back—which, let's be real, doesn't sound like your style—you'd just write it off. But if you actually intended to pay? You'd want your money back. Forget being polite or feeling awkward. These are your funds that you earned with your own hands. You lent them; you didn't gift them. Sure, the fact that he’s unemployed right now makes things messy, so maybe meet him halfway by giving him a month or two—whatever timeframe he needs to scrape that amount together. Just stay firm. Don't feel guilty or embarrassed about asking for what's yours. Honestly, he should be the one feeling the shame for failing to pull this together after nine whole months. I bet he'll try to play the "I don't have a job" card, but I’d just "gently" remind him he had a steady paycheck when he took the loan in the first place. That usually shuts down those kinds of excuses pretty quick. Just heads up: don't be shocked if he starts acting like a total diva and tries to make you look like the bad guy for squeezing a "poor, jobless guy." People love to conveniently forget the most important part of the equation in situations like this. You lent him the money because he asked for it. You didn't force him to take 🙂
Oh, and if I were you, I wouldn't bring up stuff like "well, you clearly have money for drinks and cigarettes." That's just asking for a massive blowout.
Gerald Torres2 said:Yeah... at lower doses, an anti-anxiety med acts similarly to an antidepressant; it can dial down the anxiety and help with intrusive thoughts and derealization. At least, that's what my doctor told me. Personally, I don't mind them because they make me drowsy and a bit foggy, but if you scroll back a few pages to the discussion about Seroquel, you'll see people here are actually pretty happy with it. That sleepiness usually wears off after a while. I actually took a few extra doses to help me sleep after I broke up with my boyfriend, and I noticed that after a couple of days, I wasn't nearly as tired or "out of it" anymore. You just have to give your body time to adjust. While I was on it, I didn't take any other anxiety meds... but I won't go back to that because it doesn't make sense for me to take them every day when I usually only need one every three days or so. So, I can only manage with those. For you, an anti-anxiety med might actually be able to replace Helex entirely. If I were in your shoes, I'd definitely consider giving it a shot. Good luck!
I'm thinking about seeing my therapist earlier than planned. Who can wait five months? I could book an appointment for April 23rd. I'll be in Chicago anyway that day, so it's right on my way. 🤷
I'm lowkey worried she'll be annoyed that I'm showing up before I've finished all my lab work. 😢

Heading to my doctor this afternoon because even Misar isn't calming me down anymore, and if I take too much, I just sleep the day away. Not sure if my GP will prescribe something stronger or maybe an antipsychotic, but this agitation is wearing me down... feels like I'm going to snap any second. Been like this since Friday.
I'm doing okay, aside from that feeling of unreality and the phobias. As long as I don't have to go anywhere, I'm fine. 😬
I was wondering, could taking AP help with that feeling of unreality? 😠 Honestly, I’ve been stuck in this weird headspace for days now—just constant, mild depersonalization. It’s driving me nuts. It just ends up fueling my phobias, too. It basically keeps me housebound because, even though I feel just as out of it at home, being in a familiar space feels way more manageable than stepping out onto a busy street in Chicago.
Matthew White4 said:So, I tried to head out for a weekend getaway without my meds, and let me tell you, nobody in town would even look at me twice. I showed up with all my official paperwork, everything clearly stating that I’m on a permanent prescription and absolutely cannot be without them! They actually looked me in the eye and told me—literally—that they could help if it were for blood pressure or something with my blood sugar, but this? This was a hard no.
I mean, what am I supposed to do? Just push my depression aside until Monday morning and hope for the best??
"Sorry, we can't help you. You aren't an EMERGENCY!"
Wanted to jump in on this post, but it slipped my mind. 🤦
Timeline: This time last year. Location: Chicago.
Scenario 1) - They refused to let me refill my prescriptions (my main doctor suddenly went on vacation, and the covering physician wouldn't authorize the refill over the phone, nor would she do it when my mom went to see her—I was away at college in a different city at the time). Even though I had my full history and had been on the exact same dose for months, I only had enough pills left for that one day.🙂
Scenario 2) - My regular doctor prescribed 4mg three times a day. The pharmacy didn't have the 4mg tablets in stock, so I asked if they could just give me two boxes of the 2mg ones instead (since I could just take 2+2 to make 4). They said no. They only gave me one box of the 2mg stuff, so I ended up taking a reduced dose for a whole month because I couldn't get a new supply—apparently, my doctor couldn't see that I hadn't received the correct strength (because, hey, it's my fault for agreeing to the weaker ones, right? If I hadn't taken them, I wouldn't have been stuck). I found out much later that I could have just said "no thanks" and gone to a different pharmacy. But the lady behind the counter talked me into it, saying I either take the weak ones or wait for an order that wouldn't arrive until Monday or Tuesday (it was Friday afternoon), claiming since they already printed the paperwork showing my meds, there was nothing they could do.🙂
Steven Martin13 said:If you can swing the cost of a private specialist, honestly, just go for it. It’s much better than being stuck in some endless loop of medical bureaucracy over things you can't even afford to fix. 😁
Personally, I’ve mostly had ten-minute appointments where they just hand me a handful of pills and call it a day.
I tried seeing specialists three times a week, paying an hour and twenty minutes of my life every single time, and they ended up cutting off all my treatments. Don't even get me started on the lack of actual progress. :mig
Man, I tried seeing a private specialist once and he wasn't even that much better.🙄 I’m actually thinking about heading over to that KBT center. I don't really need the meds (except for my Xanax), and honestly, every time I've been to KBT, things have gone great.👍
Steven Martin13 said:Jay-Z is spot on here—no employer out there has the right to demand your full medical history. All they can legally ask for is a doctor's note confirming you're fit to work; they don't get a backstage pass to your actual diagnosis or private health details.
It honestly feels like those of us dealing with mental health struggles are the only ones getting the short end of the stick, doesn't it? 🙂
Hey DireDown, let me guess—was your entire "diagnosis" process just five quick ten-minute check-ins where they barely looked up from their clipboards? 😁
Only had twenty minutes with her, and honestly? The doctor completely missed the mark on half the stuff. She really should've focused on the big picture instead of getting everything twisted. 😬
Jason Vaughn482 said:So, you don't need the anxiolytics, but you apparently need the antipsychotics instead? At that point, one has to wonder which is actually more detrimental to your health, because it seems clear that you're always going to need *something* to keep you level.
I think everyone here already gets the point—you aren't touching an antipsychotic, even if your life depended on it. You don't need to make it your whole personality every single time someone mentions meds in a thread. 😉
