Didn't you actually read the rules before hitting register? The second point says right here:
Welcome to Reddit!
Reddit is the biggest forum in America and the go-to spot where hundreds of people swap opinions and jump into interesting debates every single day. Signing up for Reddit is free, and participating doesn't cost a dime either. We hope you find a community here that you actually want to hang out in.
I mean, what kind of discussions are we even having if half the posts are private? 😕
Maybe try a quick Google search on how a forum works before signing up next time. 🤷
Mosquitoes absolutely love targeting my legs, especially my feet 🤣 It’s such a struggle during the summer to avoid wearing shorts or sandals, particularly out in the Midwest where there isn't even a hint of a breeze. 🤷 They pretty much leave my arms and the rest of my body alone—it's like maybe one bite on my hands for every twenty they take on my legs 🙄 I honestly have no clue what my blood type is 😳
My dad actually severed a tendon in his thumb once. He didn't deal with the same issues you're having, so I can't really offer much advice, but I wanted to mention that he never quite got full sensation back in that finger. It’s been feeling kind of "numb" ever since. He says he just got used to it after a while—this was years ago—and it doesn't really get in the way of his work.
Robert Green93 said:Exactly. I don't see much of an insult there.🤷
It's like how Romani people don't get all worked up when they call each other Gypsies. I know a few, and they all just joke around like that among themselves. 😁 Back in the days of the Republic of Venice, they used to call them Jedupi or Egyptians, though I've no clue if those terms even exist anymore further south.
But hey, there's always those folks who are, as they say, more pious than the Pope.☕
Black people call each other "nigga" all the time, so what's the deal with how they feel about white people saying it?!
I get what you're saying—things definitely could've been handled differently, and yeah, leaving a ton of questions hanging like this isn't ideal. But honestly? I’m drawing a total blank on how to actually fix it. 🤷
Here’s how I’m picturing it: "where to buy studded tires" "where to buy an XXS bodysuit" "where to get a motorcycle exhaust fixed" "where to buy green Orbit gum"
It still feels like a total mess to me. I mean, who actually wants to scroll through all that just to find a topic they actually care about? Don't take this as a dig at you, I'm just saying the clutter is real. I think we'd solve the whole mess if we just linked those "where to buy..." posts to their specific PDF instead (like having a Fashion PDF for the bodysuit stuff, etc.).🤷
It’s just moving along at its own pace, I guess. Look, I get it—waiting around for someone to actually snap or hurt themselves (or someone else) isn't exactly a winning strategy. But honestly, imagine if we could just hospitalize anyone just because someone else called it in? We'd have half the country sitting in psych wards for no reason at all. 🤷
If you check out the Psychology sub, they'll probably give you a better lead. Maybe ask them about how to nudge someone toward voluntary treatment instead.
Reading feralmarlin23's posts actually reminded me of this one pharmacy I used to go to. They were out of my specific AP for months, but they kept trying to push some substitute on me. I ended up checking with my psychiatrist to see if switching was a good idea, and he was pretty firm about not doing it—apparently, finding the right dose of the actual medication was such a process for me that we shouldn't mess with it now. Why did I keep going back to that same spot, though? Because every single time, they promised they’d have it ordered and ready by next month. They never did. Eventually, I just gave up on them and found a different pharmacy further away that actually carries what I need. The arrogance was real, too; they definitely rolled their eyes at me for refusing the alternative.
A schizophrenia diagnosis isn't something you just toss around lightly. Honestly, I have no clue how he managed to get slapped with that after just one single visit to a psychiatrist.
From what I know, you can't just force someone into a hospital if they aren't a danger to themselves or anyone else around them. You might want to reach out to the APA or something similar—maybe ask them for advice on how to handle the next steps. A psychiatrist needs to be involved, sure, but forced treatment is a whole different beast.🤷
vividorca9 said:Hold on, so I can start a thread about my own experiences with BPD and how it messes with my relationship, but I can't just make a general discussion thread about BPD itself?
From what I've seen, pretty much anyone can post about their own issues, even if there's already a dedicated thread for that specific diagnosis. Your only real issue is that you'll end up with people chiming in who have never even heard of BPD—or barely know anything about it—and they might try giving you totally useless advice. It’s like when someone mentions they have chronic insomnia and some random person suggests drinking warm cocoa before bed so they can "sleep like a baby."
Just curious, mostly just wondering—does the admin team have a bigger inbox than us regular users? Like, is there even a cap on how many messages they can take before things get messy? Could a mod actually go MIA just because their inbox hit a limit? 🙂

Honestly, you're probably better off asking over on the Psychology subreddit. Usually, you're gonna need a referral regardless, unless you end up causing a massive scene (not that I'm giving you ideas or anything). There's voluntary admission, and then there's the forced kind—and in those cases, the cops are usually the ones dropping you off at the ER. 🙂
Paul Newman5 said:Belupovac will probably get back to you by the day after tomorrow. A few months ago, I asked if it was okay to take Aktivin with Misara and two people replied right away. Haven't actually tried it myself, so I can't say for sure. If you scroll back a few pages, someone else mentioned using it here, but I can't recall their name. Just find them and ask; if I remember correctly, she was on it for a long time.
Robert Kim6 said:Yeah, I probably should've mentioned it... I was just second-guessing myself on whether I should keep asking about him. Has anyone actually had any experience with it?
You could always shoot an email over to Johnson & Johnson; they usually get back to you on stuff like this. Unless, of course, someone here decides to weigh in first.
Paul Newman5 said:I wasn't jumping down your throat, and there's no need for swearing. But I'm certain blood pressure medication doesn't cause this many side effects. And I wasn't saying I don't respect your experience. Just because you've been around here for years doesn't mean I, as someone relatively new, can't have my own opinion. I have more to say, but I'm not interested in forum bickering.
That wasn't an insult, it was just a figure of speech. If I actually wanted to start swearing at you, I wouldn't have been this polite. Nobody's telling you what to think, but you totally snapped at me over a comment that wasn't even about you, let alone directed at you. Honestly, I have no clue why you took it personally. Nobody else seems to have taken it the way you did, which probably means everyone else caught the sarcasm and what I was actually getting at. I could be really rude right now, but I won't. 😉
Robert Kim6 said:I'm just going to leave this here... I did some digging online, and apparently, they fall into the category of MAO inhibitors. Those can be pretty risky when you mix them with foods high in tyramine. Usually, they're only prescribed for extreme cases. Then again, if Aktivin H were that intense, it probably wouldn't be available over the counter, right?
I saw one site saying it's an SSRI and another one calling it a MAOI. Good luck figuring out which one is right. 🙄 When I picked it up today, the woman at the pharmacy didn't mention a thing except to tell me to watch out for the sun and wear some SPF if I'm heading out. I feel like she would've mentioned the food thing if it were a big deal, since that feels much more important than the sun (which isn't even that strong lately anyway).
Robert Kim6 said:Does anyone know anything about Advil? Is it actually dangerous? I heard it might fall under the MAOI category, and those can be risky when you eat foods high in tyramine. I noticed nobody has replied yet 😢
The instructions for Aktivin H don't mention any of that stuff. I'm gonna go down a Google rabbit hole to see what else I can find.
Paul Newman5 said:I agree with the part about taking meds when things get desperate—not just for local issues, but everything—but I can't get behind calling this "just a couple of pills." Personally, I feel like AT&T is more like those drugs where you deal with side effects for weeks, or they don't even work half the time, or the side effects stop but nothing actually happens, and then you're just waiting months for any effect at all. A pill is what you take for high blood pressure to stay functional. This isn't that. I'm already on my third type of medication and who knows how that ends, so I'm technically all for treatment, but I won't sugarcoat this crap we're consuming. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, including those who think there's no difference between this and actual pills.
You completely missed the point. Compared to absolute garbage (which is gross), anyone would rather take a pill (which is less gross). And trust me, I didn't just wake up yesterday knowing what you wrote in your post.
And if we're really going down that road, even blood pressure meds have side effects. They aren't magic. I used the word "pills" mostly sarcastically, but I guess you have to spell out every single damn word on these forums so someone doesn't misinterpret you and jump down your throat.
Honestly, a permanent ban is the only thing I’m actually "afraid" of. That’s the ultimate penalty for me. So far, I haven't had any of my posts deleted—not that I’ve ever written anything so legendary that I’d think, "Man, this belongs in a museum, or maybe pinned as a site-wide announcement because it's just that good." 🤷
I’ve been suspended once, I think 🤔. It wasn't exactly a tragedy; you just sit back, lurk for three days without posting, and then you're back in the game. A temporary timeout is one thing, but a permaban? Being locked out from commenting for six months or forever? That's different. I’d probably be bummed about not swapping emails with certain people since most of our chats happen in DMs, and then I'd have to deal with the hassle of making a burner account just to reach out. And knowing how this place works, they'd probably sniff out the clone and... yeah, forget it. I'm not looking to appeal a permanent ban anytime soon. 😬
Most of the time, when I get flagged, I know I earned it. Usually, after a post gets nuked, I’m just sitting there waiting for the DM notification to hit. 😬But sometimes, the worst part isn't even the penalty itself—it's the injustice of it. It bugs me way more when the person who baited me walks away scot-free while I’m the one getting the strike. Getting penalized while the instigator stays clean? That’s what really sends my blood pressure through the roof. 🙂
I didn't vote in that poll above because none of those options really qualify as the "worst" punishment to me. To be real, all of that is just part of life on an online community. It’s like being in school—some kids got failing grades, some got kicked out of class, some even caught a slap from the teacher. Everyone experiences it differently; some go through the whole gauntlet, some only half, and some stay totally untouched. But honestly, I think users who have never even seen a single warning are a pretty rare breed. 😬
